25.01.2022 What a great start to the week in Kindergarten, We enjoyed some time in our garden soaking up the warm sunshine. The kindergarten class were keen to participate with planting, watering, attending to the worm farm and replenishing our water and seed feeder for the birds. Gardening for children helps improve motor skills, enhance cognitive abilities and social skills and promotes appreciation of our environment. If you’d like your child to become active little gardeners and join our Kindergarten community, please call us on 5578 7453 to book an appointment!

We spoke about how they’re our friends and if we got lost or need help, we can seek help from them! Once outside, we went and explored the police car in small groups! Each group got to hop in the back of the car, explore all the nooks and crannies, listen to the siren as well as talk in the microphone!

19.01.2022 Did you know the 11th of August was play in the sandpit day?! You don’t need to go to the beach to explore the sand, you can have your own sandbox at home, go to the park, or just use a bin of sand, which can be used indoors, or out. Include a variety of props; funnels, cardboard tubes, sifts, plastic bottles, scoops, measuring cups, spoons, bottle caps, and small rakes or forks to increase learning and fun. Children learn through play, and sand is no different. While playing with sand you give children the freedom to explore, create, and ask questions!

10.01.2022 Our children are continuously learning through play! What may look like a simple play can mean so much more to our children!
09.01.2022 Many ways to connect with nature. Encouraging our Educators and families to embrace the beauty of the times they take when walking in a park, the beach, their b...ack/front yard will always reveal natures hidden treasures. These treasures can then be collected and used in children's explorations, artworks, construction and much more. Imagine the many ways children could use these kinds of materials (free from nature) in their play and learning. These items were collected in 3 short early morning walks and from my garden. I found paperbark, 3 different types of seed pods, multi-coloured leaves from the one tree, some interesting pieces of broken branches and palm branches. Notice the beautifully delicate woven nest in the dried palm flower branch - this could be used in your nature investigation space maybe in your reception area or a classroom. Just add some other nature's gifts along with magnifying sheets or glasses, some other natural objects, some pieces of paper and drawing implements, some relevant picture books etc. Imagine how much you would be able to collect for the children in your Centre if everyone took 1 week to go out and enjoy some time in a nature space, collected some interesting items and brought them in?
