25.01.2022 2020 Training officially commences next week! The Senior Footballers are back on Monday the 20th from 6:30pm with of course all junior players welcome to join!... The Netballers will start their training from Thursday the 23rd at 6:15pm and then Tuesday 28th for Fitness Training! Under 16s and 18s football training will commence on the 10th of feb at 5.15pm! 24.01.2022 The Yarragon Football Netball Club would like to acknowledge the passing of Clive Orgill. The Yarragon Football Netball Club is saddened by the passing of former President and Life Member Clive Orgill. Clive has been a vital part of YFNC for many years. The club sends its condolences to Clive’s family and friends. Clive was the backbone & president of Yarragon Football Club during his time in the position and continued to contribute to the club when he could long after his p...residency. Due to his love and contribution to the club the committee voted to have Clive be a Life Member. His children all played and still volunteer at the Yarragon Football Netball Club. Clives Funeral will be held on Wednesday the 30th of December at Downton Park Reserve at 1:30pm. Clives Family like to welcome YFNC Members or anyone who would like to attend. Pictured below is Clive with the Hughes - Orgill Cup and senior football player Mitch Jolly. The Hughes - Orgill Cup is a match played against rival club Nilma Darnum FNC. 23.01.2022 It’s with great sadness and a heavy heart that Yarragon Football Netball club would like to acknowledge the passing of Nick "Wiemo" Wiemann who suddenly passed away at home on 9th of September 2020. Nick always had a smile on his face, off and on the field and will be greatly missed by his teammates and throughout the club. 14.01.2022 EDFL CALL OFF THE 2020 SEASON. STATEMENT FROM LEAGUE PRESIDENT ROGER GWYNNE This communication is to announce the EDFL have called off the 2020 season. This app...lies to both senior and junior grades. A vote of all clubs was held at a meeting on 24 June and nine clubs decided to abandon the season in accordance with our league statement on 4 June to not proceed if all the restrictions were not removed by the end of the month. It was a tough decision. It was not made lightly and only made after many hours of discussion with all clubs. The EDFL Board of Management (BOM) very much wanted to proceed with a junior competition and all clubs put forward ideas to meet the restrictions but ultimately most clubs along with the board of management were adamant the health and wellbeing of the community was more important. Our research also found a shortened season would be a financial liability on both the league and clubs and further feedback from our clubs suggested they may have difficulty managing the social distancing and biosecurity measures. I’d like to thank all clubs for their co-operation over recent months. I am confident the right decision has been made and it will ensure all clubs and the league be in a stronger position for the 2021 season. EDNA have called off their senior grades and will release details about the future of the junior competition in due course. Roger Gwynne EDFL President
