17.01.2022 Rock legend bound for War of Surf and Rock Guitar festival WHEN it comes to rock royalty Tim Gaze is very much part of the family. A former member of legendary rock outfit Rose Tattoo, Tim has also jammed with an early incarnation of AC/DC, played with Stevie Wright from the Easybeats, and worked or recorded with Jimmy Barnes, Job Lord from Deep Purple, Russell Morris, Renee Geyer and Brian Cadd to name only a few.... Now he’s bringing a lifetime of music to the War of Surf and Rock Guitar Festival. Tim heads up a great line-up of live entertainment at the festival and will take to the Stage at around 8pm on the Sunday 24th Feb. For Tim Gaze life is music. He formed his first band at the tender age of 13 and by the age of 15 was playing professionally in one of Australia’s first progressive blues surf rock bands, Tamam Shud. Since then he has rubbed shoulders and picked guitars with rock’s finest at every major entertainment centerin Australia. I teamed up with Angry Anderson and the boys from Rose Tattoo in 1984 and played with the band until it folded in 1986 and played with Jimmy Barnes in 2005 when he was touring the album ’Double Happiness’. Working and recording several albums with Jon Lord from Deep Purple was also a terrific experience a true gentleman of Rock. Rock and roll history is littered with untimely endings and wild shenanigans but at the age of 58, Tim has managed to live the dream and continue playing the music he loves. I’m still mates with many of the legends of rock and it’s great to catch up with them for a chat whenever we do a show. Tim will be performing songs from Tamam Shud, his double CD ‘Band On The Run’, and songs from his current hard-hitting contemporary band, The OutrO. ‘Can’t wait to play this exciting event been looking forward to it for a while now.. ‘Let there be Rock and plenty of it!!’
