You will change lives & educate children you may never meet but will feel fantastic for cashing in your cans & bottles. Thank you in advance.

21.01.2022 Les Restaurant Des Enfant continues to feed the children from various slums in Cambodia. This task is made easier with the use of the tuk tuk purchased by the project managed by one of our Rotarians - Barry Tennent. Our club collects recyclable cans & bottles to purchase school supplies & the tuk tuk. You can help by depositing your recyclables to our designated Cash for Cans AccountC10082046 or contacting us to deposit your supplies.

04.01.2022 Rotary clubs in Australia and New Zealand have contributed to the largest-ever Rotary Foundation Grant to fund vital healthcare equipment on the world’s largest... purpose-built NGO hospital ship, operated by Mercy Ships. The ‘Global Mercy’ launches in 2021 and will double the NGO’s healthcare impact throughout West Africa by providing six surgical specialities, as well as training for local healthcare workers. Money donated by Craig Brodey, of Lane Cove Rotary, Rotary District 9685, together with contributions from New Zealand’s Rotary Club of Morrinsville - District 9930 Inc, Rotary District 9930 Central North Island New Zealand, forms part of the 2020 Rotary Foundation global grant of US$1.125 million, helping outfit six operating theatres, three infection isolation rooms, six wards, and an intensive care unit on board the Global Mercy. Worldwide, two out of three people could not access surgery when they need it pre-COVID-19. More than 18 million people were dying unnecessarily from conditions that could have been treated by surgery because they could not afford it, could not access it, or it was simply not available in their country at any time. In 2020 this need has escalated. During the 50-year lifespan of the ‘Global Mercy’, it is estimated more than 150,000 people will be transformed through free essential surgery. The addition of the new hospital ship will enable Mercy Ships to reach more people in need and train more local healthcare professionals, while leaving a sustainable, lasting healthcare legacy. 03.01.2022 Hi everyone, please SHARE this if you can. If everyone shares this with all their friends that would be great and will support the ROTARY NOMADS.

03.01.2022 Another busy meeting tonight, as our Club inducted Janet Cook into our Club. Janet was previously a member of the Rocky West’s RC. Welcome Janet. We are sure you will be made welcome and enjoy being a member and we look forward to working together with you. President Kate presented Secretary Leigh with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Club. Leigh is stepping down as our current Secretary due to health issues. Many thanks Leigh for her outstanding service to our club and... the local community. Leigh had a guest with her this evening, her friend Gayle Moss and grandson Lincoln joined the meeting tonight. 2 years ago, Gayle had knitted hundreds of babies beanies that were sent to Tabubil PNG where members Ian & Berny Cross where living in 2013-2015. The need for these items continues and Gayle has again been very productive and has knitted many more babies beanies and crib blankets that will be evenly distributed to Mums on Tanna Island Vanuatu and Tabubil PNG . These items make such a difference to the new born babies, and are so greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Gayle for your generosity. Our Annual High Tea now has a date and a theme. It is the High Tea ChristmasEdition , being held on Sunday 6th December 2020 at the Rockhampton Jockey Club ( Callaghan Park ). The RJC will be providing the food for this event. The price is $40 per person, and bookings are essential. Due to current COVID restrictions, tickets must be prepaid and there seating arrangements. R.S.V.P is 29th November 2020 and bookings can be made by calling Berny Cross 0403504844. So book in the Date, and book your table now to join in the Fun of the day. A Multi Draw Raffle and money board will be available on the day to Win. We will soon have new Buddy Seats that will be installed at 4 local primary State Schools. The majority of the funding that made this possible has come from the Livelife Pharmacy Gracemere Community Support Program. We have paid the local Gracemere Men’s Shed to make them for us. Stay tuned to see them going into a school near you soon. They look great and will be well received into the schools. Unfortunately, Zoom was again not available for our distance & holidaying members and those unable to be there in person. Fingers crossed it’s a working next week. Enjoy your week and stay safe everyone! See more
