(McCosker Rockhampton Speedway) DUE TO A SPEEDWAY EVENT DOWN SOUTH THE AGM WILL NOW: be held on Friday Evening the 18thSeptember 2020. All members and public persons are welcome to attend.... All Executive Positions will become vacant. For a nomination form for Executive Positions please contact us via email and we will forward one to you. To nominate for an Executive Position, you must be a current financial member of Rockhampton Saloon Car Club prior to the nomination closing date of Thursday 17th September 2020 at 5pm. Please note that due to the COVID 19 requirements changing with very little notice, we will provide the Venue and Time closer to the AGM date and this will be available on our Rockhampton Speedway website and also the McCosker Rockhampton Speedway main page on Facebook. 22.01.2022 COMPETITOR INFORMATION FOR SATURDAY 28.11.2020 Entry will be via gate number 8 (Corner of New Exhibition Road & Lion Creek Road). Gates will open at 10.00am. Scrutineering 11.30am - 2.00pm.... All scrutineering is under the usual big shed. There will be NO PASSENGERS for this weekend. Pits closed at 3pm. Driver’s briefing is at 3pm sharp. Grand parade from 4.00pm. Racing from 4.15pm. BEFORE ENTERING THE VENUE Before coming into the showgrounds venue we would appreciate all competitors who have an ANNUAL Speedway Australia licence to complete the below indemnity waiver. For those purchasing a one night pit licence OR one night racing licence you no longer need to sign the indemnity waiver as it is part of the licence application. https://www.speedwayaustralia.org/forms/SA_Indemnity.aspx Anyone who requires a one night pit licence will need to apply through Speedway Australia prior to the meeting - it is $10 for the night. https://www.speedwayaustralia.org/forms/sa_pit_licence.aspx You will NOT be allowed entry into the pit area unless licensed and have enclosed shoes on. Please see below rules about children in the pit area. 3.7.7 Children in the Pits Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted in the Pits. The exceptions are: a) Children aged 12 to 15 years who possess a Speedway Australia Licence and/or Personal Accident Insurance; and b) Children aged 5-11 years who possess a Speedway Australia licence and/or Personal Accident insurance and are actively competing in the race meeting. UPON ENTERING THE VENUE The EVA Check-In will be used for every individual entering the venue for the meeting to abide by COVID19 regulations. You can download the app and preload all of your information to provide quicker entry into the venue. You must scan the QR Code then complete all your details. If you do not wish to download the app you can use your camera setting on your phone which will open a link for you to fill out. Manual check in will be available for those without a device. Camping is available - please send the page a message for further information in regards to where you can set up. OTHER INFORMATION Please abide by the current restrictions, instructions and regulations that have been put in place with COVID19. We will not hesitate to ask you to leave the venue. Compliance with COVID safe practices is every individual's responsibility who enters the venue - if you think you cannot comply please do not enter our complex. Please observe social distancing at all times. Use the sanitiser hand stations or wash your hands regularly. We have a fully operational bar and food vendors, please follow and abide by their signs and requirements as well. 16.01.2022 Hi Race Fans We are as devastated as everyone else around the season outlook so we thought we'd bring to you our 2020 / 2021 Season dates so you can lock them in! Make sure you keep an eye on our page - we'll be having some promotions leading up to these such as free ticket give away's and some exciting things happening around the grounds. ... Classes are not yet finalised; so once they are we'll publish a calendar you can save or download for the fridge! In our next season we'll be looking for volunteers to help around the place so maybe you might consider how you can help and be a part of the action! As always, we thank you for your support during our race season and look forward to seeing bums back in seats soon!

07.01.2022 SPEEDWAY BLAST FROM THE PAST The date was 16th November 2008 The event was the Caravan Demolition Derby at Rockhampton Speedway ... Today I came across the footage from Greg Hughes who said he’s lost count of how many laps he completed at Rocky showgrounds. He did these in his that VW Passat. He said the best part was beating Larry Nelson in his Falcon hardtop. He tried to fence me but I ended up on top of the fence and on top of his Falcon...so kept the pedal on and drove down over his bonnet. I landed in front of him and kept on going! I came 2nd behind Morry Ward. The 1500cc VW beat his 351 v4 shit box Falcon....i still have a laugh about it. Larry was not am amused at me leaving tyre marks over his bonnet...haha Greg spent 20 years of his life in Speedway in Gladstone but spent a lot of laps at Rocky. Thanks Greg for sharing! 05.01.2022 SEPTEMBER 26th SPEEDWAY RACE MEETING. Hello all Race-fans, Spectators, Officials, Volunteers and competitors. Due to the current recent developments regarding the COVID 19, our first meeting of the Season, sadly has been cancelled. The early decision to do this is so that competitors can make plans or other arrangements for that weekend. The decision was also made due to the mandatory rules and requirements that must be met and approvals granted from council. The safe...ty and health of all involved is our utmost priority. In the weeks to come, a decision will be made regarding our October 30th Race Meeting. Once again we want to Thankyou all for your understanding in what has been a challenging time. AGM. The books are currently still with the accountant and DJ is following up with them on an approximate time frame for when we can expect them to be finalised so as the AGM date can be set.
