25.01.2022 Our Open Day is getting closer and we are so excited to show off our newly finished Clubrooms. We would also like to thank everyone who assisted in the finishing touches and volunteered their time. It is greatly appreciated. Not only do our new Clubrooms have great viewing facilities for all the courts but we also have wheelchair access, large well equipped kitchen, change room facilities and an indoor table tennis table for our members. Our beautiful shady gardens and well e...stablished trees compliment our facilities. For all those new to the Club or considering membership we also have a viewing area where you can drive up and watch from your car, a walkway and beautiful manicured gardens which overlook our tennis court, ample free parking and a hitting up wall to practise your shots. We are a very short walk to an amazing beach, stunning foreshore with bbq facilities and many playgrounds plus many great restaurants and a cafe strip. 21.01.2022 Coaching Vacancy - Rockingham Tennis Club Rockingham Tennis Club (RTC) would like to formally advertise the vacant position of a Senior Coach. Our Club is looking for a Senior Coach that will commit to the long term future of RTC, with a view to starting as soon as possible. We envisage the Senior Coach will be able to provide the following services:... 1. Hot Shots 2. Group Lessons 3. Development Squads 4. Private Lessons 5. School Programmes All candidates for the position will be assessed in areas of experience, availability, credentials and vision, by a Sub Committee of the RTC. It is the Clubs intention to close entry to applicants on the 31st July 2020. Should the Club find a suitable candidate for the position before then, the Club will reserve the right to appoint the successful applicant at an earlier date. 18.01.2022 The Juniors are holding a car wash at the club on Saturday. We will also have a sausage sizzle running whilst the cars are being washed. All funds raised will be used to purchase equipment for the new clubhouse. Could you please share this with all your friends and family? Skoda in Mandurah have been kind enough to provide all the car washing equipment and we thank Sheree and Graham for their help. A big thank you also to Jodie Franklin for organising the day.... The committee would also like to thank everyone who has been working hard to get the clubrooms completed. Special thanks to Russell for painting the rest of the benches, Kathryn and Geoff for removing the trees, Bill for his tireless work putting up the shields and Ewen, Ayo and Glynn for putting the noticeboard back up. Details of the Official Opening and 70th Year Celebrations will be coming soon.

17.01.2022 A big thank you to everyone who helped at the car wash yesterday. It was a great success with approx 34 cars washed in the 3 hours and over $500 raised. The help we had from everyone was amazing. A special thank you to the Juniors who came along and washed cars not only are they great tennis players they are now expert car washers. Thanks also to Jodie Franklin for coming up with the idea and organising it. ... With the help from Graeme at Skoda Mandurah donating the car washing products all money raised will go to the club for improving our clubrooms. Friday 24th of July - 4.15pm til 5.15pm (recommended for all ages and levels from 5-17 years old) Saturday 25th of July - 8.45am til 9.45am (recommended for all ages and levels from 5-11 years old) 10.00am til 11am (recommended for all ages and levels from 11 til 17 years old) Junior Development Squad: Tuesday 28th of July 4.30pm til 6.00pm (recommended for ages 10-17 years old) The first Friday or Saturday we are offering the first lesson for , yes FREE as part of supporting our local families and also providing an opportunity for new players to come down and have a go. The KidSport program enables eligible children aged 5 to 18 to participate in community sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance towards club registration fees. 09.01.2022 Rockingham Tennis Club Mens Division 1 Doubles team was bolstered for the third time this season with the return of its favourite son Brydan Klein in last nights match against Wembley. It was a great win for the team, 8 sets to love. Rockingham Tennis Club has competed in every Wednesday night Grand Final since 2015 and currently sit on top of the ladder with two matches remaining for the 2020 season. Anyone wishing to watch the Division 1 team play its last home game before finals are welcome to come down to the club at 7:30pm on Wednesday 4th March. Rockingham Tennis Club is located on Kent Street in Rockingham.

01.01.2022 A big thank you to everyone who applied for our coaching position. We were very lucky to have many amazing and talented people apply from all over the world. We are pleased to announce that Heiner Wirtz-Fielding from New Zone Tennis in Queensland is our new coach. He brings with him a wealth of experience and is highly accredited. Please read his introduction to us below; Dear members of the Rockingham Tennis Club and wider community, I would like to take the opportunity to i...ntroduce myself as your new Club Coach. As you can take from my resume, I have been passionate about tennis both as a competitor and a coach in a few different countries in different environments and cultures as well as varying remits in clubs, academies and national associations. As a player it took me from humble beginnings at my local club in Germany to playing semi professional, even trying at Pro Tour level on Satellites in the eighties. As a coach I gathered experience at a few clubs in Germany before moving to the UK managing the High Performance Department of one of the countries biggest centres and consulting other academies, coaches and players as Talent and Performance Manager for the UKs national association, the LTA. I have been in Australia for ten years up to today and learned a lot about the Australian tennis culture, designed and implemented development, performance and competition pathways for a few clubs and centres in Queensland and South Australia. I have been involved with Tennis Australias project Talent as a Talent Development Coach and helped aspiring young coaches as a Coach Education Facilitator. I am now very excited to come to Rockingham Tennis Club, back to an environment that allows me to become part of a community again. Something that I knew that I was missing for a long time. Please dont hesitate to get into contact with me over the next few weeks before my arrival in September as I would like to learn more about your club, your queries about coaching, tournament pathways but also possible gaps that need filling from your perspective. My aim is to be the coach for any member regardless of their current level and age or gender. I will offer programs for both juniors and seniors with different entry points and development pathways. I really look forward to your questions and of course meeting you all in person soon. One more thing: I was told that I urgently need an Aussie nickname.
