25.01.2022 With all of the recent messages we have received about event cancellations, we would like to advise that based on all of the current information, the Shoalwater Classic Triathlon WILL go ahead. Even with volunteers and spectators, we will not get close to the 500 people limit advised by the government. Our event is capped at 220 participants (including teams) and we are currently at 101 people registered. Please support our clubs main event for the season and continue to regi...ster. You will receive a full refund if we are forced to cancel for any reason. Circumstances may change in the next two weeks but our stance is that unless schools become closed or we are advised by TWA to cancel, the Shoalwater Classic will be held as planned on the 29th of March. As a committee we are putting together plans to minimise risk to the wider community and will advise of these plans closer to race day. Keep an eye out for updates.

25.01.2022 Club Merchandise We have an amazing new supplier for our race, training and casual gear in Perene. Perene produce a high quality product so we are greatful to enter in a partnership with them. They have opened up a portal for us to order your own gear.... This portal is open for 1 week only! Until the 16th of November as this will ensure you receive your merchandise prior to our Supermix Race in early January. Don’t worry if it’s a bit short notice as Perene do afterpay. 24.01.2022 AGM UPDATE We have booked the Hotel Clipper from 10am to 12pm on Sunday the 2nd of August and the club is buying brunch for all current members that attend. Brunch includes 2 courses + tea and coffee.... Non-members are welcome to attend but will need to pay $28 to cover their meal. The formalities should take around 45 minutes so there will be plenty of time to have a chat and catch up on what everyone has been up to during the lockdown. AGM topics include: - Presidents report - Financial report - Committee departures and available spots - Committee nominations - Draft race calendar - Training/Coaching - Uniforms - Other general business Please RSVP to [email protected] by Sunday July 26 and let us know if you would prefer the standard, vegetarian or vegan option. 19.01.2022 ROCKINGHAM TRIATHLON CLUB UNIFORM UPDATE! Hey everyone! I hope that everyone is keeping fit and healthy! RTC JACKETS... We are currently taking orders for RTC jackets. The cost of these jackets are $130. I have attached a picture of the design, plus male and female sizing charts. CYCLING GAITERS I have also attached a picture of our new cycling gaiters (Similar to a "buff"). I am looking at ordering 20 of these in stock. The special first order price is $15 (Normal price $30). SINGLETS AND T-SHIRTS I also have a few running singlets and t-shirts in stock (different sizes are available), which cost $40 each. I am located in Willetton, however, I sure if someone wants one we can organise a pick up / drop off. KIDS TRIATHLON SUITS We are also getting stock in of kids tri suits, which will be available to purchase at the start of next sesssion. ADULTS TRIATHLON SUITS We are still using our team store option for adults tri suits. This will be opened up closer to the start of the season. 15.01.2022 The Shoalwater Classic is now officially cancelled. Im sure it wont be a surprise to many of you that due to the Covid-19 crisis, we have been advised to follow pretty much every event in the country and cancel the Shoalwater Classic for this season. All entrants will have their entry fee refunded. Weve put in a lot of work to organise the event and are dissapointed to cancel but its the only option with the current situation. We have been receiving messages every day so ...we know that there are plenty of people who want to race but all we can advise is to keep yourself mentally and physically fit over the next few months. The 32km Bike course consists of 4 Laps with each lap following the coast until cutting through towards Cape Peron and coming back the same way past transition. There are a few technical turns but the course is very flat and has plenty of long stretches. Roads will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event. The 10km Run is 4 Laps and has competitors following the footpath along the coast with an out and back 2.5km lap. For those who are completing the shorter distance, the laps will be halved. Course Set-up Course Set-up begins at 6am. We are a volunteer-resourced club, all help is very much appreciated!

05.01.2022 TRANSITION TIPS In the lead up to the RTC Shoalwater Classic we thought it would be a good idea to provide some useful tips when youre in transition, we have tried to do this in order - Rack your bike handle bars out (use the seat to put it on the rack)... - Have your helmet open with your sunnies inside (if wearing), on your aero bars - Use elastic bands to secure your riding shoes in the best position to get them on when you start the ride (if you have clip ins) - If you are wearing socks on the run, have them folded half way down - If you are not going to wear socks, use baby powder - Make a mental note of where your bike is relative to entry/exit, pick something that stands out to you - Put the timing chip UNDER your wetsuit to get the wetsuit off faster - Put the race belt on UNDER your wetsuit (you will need this for the ride and run) - Apply baby oil to your arms and legs prior to putting on your wetsuit so it is easier to get off - Always put your helmet on first - Rack your bike on the handle bars when you have finished your ride - If you are wearing a hat on the run, put this on whilst running - Utilise the aid stations for drinks and minimise drinks in transition Other handy tips to note - Use elastic shoelaces, best to get the practice in now with these - Turn your Garmin on and have it on auto pause Hope this helps! https://entryboss.cc/calendar/rtc

It was absolutely crazy weather, a rough swim, wet, very windy bike with a sketchy long fast downhill thrown in (x2) and you all did a cracker job getting it done. Skye Bowron finished 1st Female Jnr... Kimberley Smith finished 3rd Open female, and Keith Bowron finished in the top 10 overall Lets give them a massive cheer from Rockingham so they can hear us all the way down there PSA run training at the Aqua Jetty oval is still on for tomorrow (majority voted for it to go ahead just on this specific public holiday)
