24.01.2022 Hi All, Hope you are all safe, well & sane! I, unlike a lot of you, do get to leave my house to come to work most days, work is quiet, but, I do get that break each day.... I have an update for you all with regards to our Ken, things have progressed quite well today, Joan informing me that she is picking him up from hospital this afternoon to bring him home where he will continue the rehab required to get him back on his feet. To say that Ken is a very lucky man would be an understatement, we are very blessed to still have him with us, the timing of his stroke meant that he was able to get fast immediate treatment which has made all the difference. Our thoughts and prayers are still with them both and I am sure, like me, you all wish him a speedy & 100% recovery, time will tell. No news on the COVID-19 Virus at this time, other than to say, Wow, what a fantastic effort by us Western Australians, we may have all but kicked it's butt over here! Still, we can not be complacent and we await the official OK to get the Club back up and running, we could still be months away. Stay well, stay safe, stay sane!

19.01.2022 Happiest of Happy Wedding Anniversaries to our Amazing Treasurer Michael and our beautiful Margaret, the Rushacks have been married for 50 years, not 100% sure of the exact date but, everyone here @ Rock'n'Jive Social Club Inc. wish you both an amazing day celebrating such a monumental achievement! 18.01.2022 Our November dance at Yokine Bowling club, the band Way Back When and Terry as DJ, the music was so good the dance floor was crowded as a special we got to see some youngsters perform ballroom dancing they were fantastic.

17.01.2022 Our Valentine's dance, well attended over hundred, the band MeZies very good and Ken our DJ for the night kept the line dancers happy.

12.01.2022 Hi Guys n Gals, Happy isolation day number..... what ever it is? Hope you are all coping well with no dancing ect. the lack of socializing with you all is the toughest part for us, we miss you all dearly and can't wait to get back on the dance floor with you all.... We have received some troubling news recently about one of our very own, Joan contacted me to say that Ken had suffered a Stroke at work the other day and was rushed into Charlies. The treatment has gone well and Ken is slowly recovering, from being unresponsive when he first went in to now moving his right side and starting to talk Please keep both Joan and ken in your thoughts and prayers as we all wish him the speediest of recoveries and that he will soon be home with Joan and well on the way to be the Ken of old. 10.01.2022 On tuesday of last week one of our lovely Members, Anna Bell presented Ash Tenaglia from The Backyard Barber a cheque from the Rock'n'Jive Social Club Inc. For $2000. to go towards helping young Ethan & his family, Anna went on to say, "This money will be added to the tally from the amazing event held yesterday at Ellenbrook District Open Space "Lets do it for Ethan". Cafe Bell along with dozens of other businesses came together to help a beautiful little boy and his family. ...I wish to take this opportunity to personally thank the committee and members of the Rock'n'Jive Social Club Inc., for their extremely generous donation. We do not as yet have a tally for the day however there is no question that the clubs contributions will go a long way to helping this dear little man. Thank you. at Cafe Bell. 10.01.2022 Happy Monday Morning All, Along with our promise to add more line dances ect to our notes page so you guys n gals can practice your dancing at home, I'd also like to share this video with you. Jon & Zoe from Alley Cats in Melbourne were kind enough to allow us to share this with our group, they are providing free lessons for their dancers to keep them dancing whilst in home isolation, thanks guys for allowing us to pass this onto our group.... 07.01.2022 Good Morning all, again we are in a holding pattern as Phase 5 is delayed once more, this time until 29th August, our restart date for Monday Night Social Dancing is now 31st August, our next Public Dance is set down for the 19th of September providing Phase 5 goes ahead, an announcement about our September Dance proceeding or not will be made closer to the date. Please enjoy your weekend everyone, keep a smile on your dial and look out for each other.

05.01.2022 ***** IMPORTANT NOTICE ***** Updated 27/07/2020 It is with much continued frustration and regret that the Committee of the Rock'n'Jive Social Club Inc. has to again take further action in delaying the start date for our Monday Night Social Dancing.... With the WA Government now extending the current restrictions until 15th August, we too, must do the same with our Dancing. If, in fact, these restrictions are lifted as hoped, we can recommence our Monday Night Social Dancing on Monday 24th August, the Hall is not available to us on the 17th. Our scheduled Monthly Dance set down for the 15th August has now been CANCELED due to the unpredictability of Phase 5 commencing and a lack of notice for both our Band and Venue for that date. We thought it only fair to allow them an opportunity to find other Gigs. Try to stay happy, safe and well everyone, we know that it is very very frustrating that we cannot get you all back on the Dance Floor, but we are acting in what we believe to be the best interest of our Members and the General Dancing Public in light of the advise of those in charge. With what is continuing to happen on the East Coast, we think the decision to hold off is prudent. Once again, we can't wait to get back on the dance floor as I am sure you can't, please continue to be patient, more updates to follow as soon as they come to hand. 04.01.2022 It is with a very heavy heart that we have to let you all know that we have lost one of our own, John Bielawski passed away a few days after Christmas, ending his brave battle with Cancer. John and Jan have been long time members our club and we are very privileged to call them friends. We all send our deepest sympathies to Jan and to the rest of John's extended family. ... Rest in Peace John, we will miss your laid back nature, sense of humor and the dance floor will be a little bit emptier without you there. May your heaven be filled with great music and golf balls that always go where you want. There will be a Private Memorial celebrating John's life on the 12th of January, If you knew John and would like to pay your respects please contact us and we will forward you the details.

03.01.2022 Hi Members and friends of Rock'n'Jive, It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of one of our Club Members, Graeme Spokes. Barb & Graeme have been long time members and supporters of our wonderful Club, and although not being able to attend the majority of our events of late due to Graeme's illness, you might remember them from our trip away to Bunbury a couple of years ago.... They also frequented our Dances and Monday Nights when Graeme was well enough. Barb, our love and support go out to you and your family at this very difficult time, please know our thoughts are with you and if you need anything please let us know so that we may help. Graeme was a wonderful and gentle man who always had a smile for you, a great sense of humor and belonging, you will always be remembered by everyone who knew you Graeme, RIP mate. 02.01.2022 Hi Guys n Gals, Just playing around with the idea of making a list of dances, mainly Line Dances, with a few Partner Dances thrown in. The idea of this list is for you guys to practice your moves at home so that when we finally get back on the dance floor you will be ready to go.... It will be posted on our Face Book page, left side Menu, under the heading "NOTES", we will also send the list out in an email. So as to not overload you all, we will release 10 Dances / Song Titles, &, where possible, links to Youtube Videos each week until you have them all. So, sit tight, first 10 Dances coming at you tonight, enjoy & make sure you practice them, we don't want you "left behind" when we start up again. 02.01.2022 ************** Rock'n'Jive Masters Footy Tipping 2020. ************** Now that we have had a little taste of the Footy over the past 4 days, perhaps we can generate some interest in our Footy Tipping Competition for 2020. We are using the ESPN Footy Tips platform again this year, it is very simple and I am sure you will have no problems getting signed up, all you will need to do is click the link, sign up to ESPN if you don't have an account and join our comp.... It is a very simple process to join up with ESPN if you don't have an account already, nothing difficult I promise. This is our Free to enter competition and it is open for anyone who has an interest in Rock'n'Jive Social Club, you do not have to be a member of the Club to join. So, come on, get yourselves signed or joined up asap so we can get things under way, we would love to have you join us for a bit of footy fun in 2020.

02.01.2022 Good Morning All, Just to give you all a little heads up, the Committee is currently working through the latest Medical Advice received through the COVID-19 Roadmap update. Phase 5 has been delayed once again, this time until 24th October.... Needless to say, our future Monthly Dances and Monday Social Dance Nights are again on hold until further notice. The Committee's decision on how we will proceed will be sent out as soon as we have responses from all Committee Members, in the meantime stay tuned.
