22.01.2022 The sixth annual Netball WA Multicultural Carnival was held on Friday at Wembley Sports Park. Among the 97 teams from across the state who battled it out on the court across the day, our own Rockingham Beach teams competed and had an amazing day! Our two teams were very successful and even won the Pool A top division. We are very excited to see our male athletes joining in and giving netball a go. Huge thanks to Sensei Tate, Mr Bruijn and Mrs Guadagnino for the opportunity to experience netball and mix with lots of different cultures!

20.01.2022 Don't forget that from Monday 23rd November we have swimming lessons. Please make sure that your child's belongings are clearly labelled and they bring hats and water bottles as the weather is starting to warm up.

20.01.2022 The children in Room 7 are learning all about partitioning in maths. This means breaking numbers into smaller parts. They have been busy using hands on materials and their hands to partition numbers. Great work guys!

19.01.2022 Today, our year 5 students in room 17 & room 18 were visited by guest speaker Simon Collins from Western Power as part of the Circuit Breakers Program. Simon spoke about his STEM role and how Western Power are addressing sustainability of our environment and power production for the future. He is looking forward to seeing what our students create with Micro:bits during the program.

The hub includes cyber safety issues and frequently asked questions around platforms such as TikToc, Fortnite and Instagram. There are app reviews with age and safety recommendations, along with a range of guides and resources to help ensure healthy boundaries around screen-time & gaming, and step-by-step instructions for using parental controls and filtering out inappropriate content.

13.01.2022 Our superstars in EC2 have been "Little Scientists" this term. Through a series of different activities they have been investigating and identifying living and non-living things. They have two pet spiny stick insects called Beauty and Sweetie in the classroom, and Beauty has been laying lots of eggs. They are also investigating the life cycle of a butterfly and currently have a number of caterpillars in the room as well! Amazing work EC2

13.01.2022 Last Wednesday our Kindy and Pre-Primary students competed in their very own athletics carnival. A huge thanks to all the staff, volunteers and student leaders who helped make it a fantastic morning. Dont forget the Year 1-6 Athletics Carnival is this Friday, we cant wait to see you there!

10.01.2022 Today, our clever students in rooms 17 and 18 began learning to code with a Micro:bit during STEM. Some even coded a digital die by shaking the micro:bit for a number to appear on the screen! This is a part of the Western Power Circuit Breakers Program.

06.01.2022 Our excited little learners in EC5 had great fun reading the story "Who Sank the Boat?". They then created their own boats using alfoil, and tested them to see how many animal counters they would hold.

04.01.2022 Under the guidance of Mrs Mills-Poilly, our upper primary students have been busy planting trees to compliment the outdoor classroom created by Mr Walkey from the ESC. A big thanks to Mrs Mills-Poilly and Mrs Henning for applying to SERCUL for the donation. SERCUL provided these plants to our school as part of the Phosphorus Awareness Project grant it receives from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), which aims to educate the community about the environmental impacts of too many nutrients entering our waterways.

03.01.2022 Take a look at the fantastic honey bee infographics the Year 4 and 5 students in Room 11 completed as a part of their STEM project. Their eye catching work can bee seen around the school to educate others about the plight of honey bees

02.01.2022 Today we celebrated National Walk Safely to School Day, by walking around our oval as a campus. We were then treated to fruit platters kindly funded by the City of Rockingham

02.01.2022 Murdoch University After School Program in Mathematics and Physical Sciences continues to offer students 10 years old and above 4:30 6:30 pm classes once each week for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Murdoch expects to resume classes on South Street campus from today with physical distancing in place.

02.01.2022 During Science week, children in buddy classrooms 16 & 18 were asked What if all the oceans disappeared...? They brainstormed their ideas, chose a possible solution and collaboratively built their prototypes using Lego whilst re-designing them as they went. Finally, they created a stop motion animation with their prototype to demonstrate their ideas. Post 1/2

01.01.2022 The focus for Science Week 2020 was "The Deep Blue Innovation for the Future of Our Oceans." This year, as part of National Science Week, Kindy to Year 3 students were given the opportunity to enter a colouring competition. The Year 4 to 6 students had the task of answering a series of questions about the ocean, ranging from, what is a Seabin? to what is Aquaculture? Here are some of our amazing winners with their entries and prizes. A full list and display of winners is in our Library. Well done everyone!
