25.01.2022 Hello, we still want you to sign the physical petition because written submissions are more appropriate for Parliament, however... feel free to share this online petition because the more support we can get, the better! Just be sure to write your suburb and relationship to the school, and/or reason for signing so we can show where our support is coming from. Thanks so much,... Your P&C https://www.change.org/OurSchoolNeedsAGym

24.01.2022 The end of term is near and we can hardly contain ourselves Unfortunately we can’t say the same for our bin... it’s only half full and the Scouts are coming to empty it in the last week of term. So, please bring in your eligible containers (please don’t crush cans)and let’s fill our bin!

23.01.2022 Hello super parents and guardians, slap bands and oils will be delivered tomorrow or Monday. Thank you for supporting the P&C and may your children forever smell beautiful.

23.01.2022 It’s finally feeling like summer and there’s no better way to cool down than slurping a delicious slushie from the Snack Shack! Fresh strawberries, apple juice and crushed ice - yum!

23.01.2022 EduDance Update... Hello everyone, we took your concerns and suggestions to the school, however they reaffirmed the decision to not allow parents/guardians/friends to attend the EduDance concert. There are a number of reasons why, but here is a brief summary... ... Logistically it is impossible to manage the number of people coming on and off school grounds safely and in accordance with government restrictions. This also applies to the suggestion to shift the concert to the oval. Allowing class-by-class audiences is also unworkable due to the requirement to clean between each performance. Audience numbers for EduDance are also considerably larger than the sports carnival. It is important to remember that although WA is in a fortunate position and ahead of the rest of the country regarding COVID-19, we need to remain vigilant to keep it that way. If the school allowed the concert to go ahead, and a case was detected, the school would be to blame. So, we may not be able to see the kids perform in person this year, but we will get a great video (remember we have a pretty awesome digital media department!). Please remember that the kids have been able to learn new skills and will still enjoy practicing and performing at the end of the course. We sincerely thank everyone for your constructive responses and suggestions rather than just complaining. It really was awesomene and we appreciate it. Whilst it didn't go your way this time, please continue to engage with the P&C so we can be the best voice possible as we advocate to and for the school. Onwards and upwards to a COVID free world! Your P&C

21.01.2022 We need tasty treats, and tasty treat sellers! The P&C is calling for donations of sweet or savoury baked goods for the sports carnival on Tuesday. We are also in need of volunteers to help us on the day selling the yummy treats and keeping an eye on things in general. With the social distancing requirements, there will barriers and directions in place to protect everyone's safety, so we want it to be as painless as possible for us all to be able to watch our little o...nes. If you can help, please message this page or join our new P&C Volunteers group on FB Messenger https://www.messenger.com/t/3386671174725704 Thanks Your P&C

21.01.2022 Edit: The decision was made by the school in conjunction with the P&C. It was thought that holding two events a week apart was asking parents for too much money and also a bit ambitious for our small group of volunteers. Hero day cancelled... Hi everyone, with the FUNday tomorrow and so many activities happening in and out of school as we come to the end of term, we've decided to give our Hero Day scheduled for Dec 4 a miss. ... Yay, one less thing to think about! The end is in sight folks, bring on 2021

20.01.2022 Soup doesn't travel well in baskets! A quick note to clarify the procedure for soup orders from the Snack Shack... The soupy nature of our delicious hot liquid cuisine makes it an occupational health and safety risk. Therefore it cannot be delivered in the baskets with the rest of the lunch orders.... Kindy and Pre Primary: Staff will collect on student's behalf Y1-Y10: Students must collect it themselves Thanks and we hope you enjoy your soup in this wet and windy weather Your Snack Shack Culinarians

14.01.2022 At our P&C meeting meeting last night our school principal Mark Brookes gave a really clear explanation about the decisions regarding Edudance and Book Week etc. We were able to ask him absolutely any, and all the questions we had! For example, Mark explained that the Edudance concert cannot be held on the oval because Edudance is a private entity and requires a hard, flat surface to perform on in order to be covered by insurance. The moral of this story is to understand that... the school often has reasons and constraints that parents don't necessarily know about. They are doing, and have been doing for several months, so much work behind the scenes to ensure our kids are safe and have access to quality education in an engaging learning environment. Being a public school, sometimes there simply are not enough resources to communicate everything as they would like, but they are doing the best they can, and we are here to help. Also, please come to our P&C meetings... it's the best way to ask questions and get the answers you seek. Thanks, Your P&C

10.01.2022 Hello everyone, in light of recent comments, we wanted to clarify a few things regarding lunch orders... 1 We firmly believe that no child should go without lunch, regardless of the reason! 2 Orders for each class (K-Y4) are placed in a basket which is collected from the canteen by a student who is sent by the teacher 3 If a lunch order is missing or the basket isn't collected, students should tell the teacher or go to the canteen and the staff will sort it out and make... sure they are fed 4 We are working with the school and canteen staff to ensure lunches make it to the tummies they are intended for! Thanks everyone and please send us a message if you have any questions. Your P&C

07.01.2022 Working in a school canteen can be a thankless job, but today we say a massive thank you and farewell (for Thursday) to our two amazing (and long-serving) canteen staff Tracy and Robyn who have decided 2020 will be their last year with Roleystone Community College. Tracy has been with us for 14 years and Robyn for 10 - amazing effort ladies! We appreciate your efforts over the years, but particularly in 2020 having handled supply shortages, menu changes, and the lockdown. ... So thank you Robyn and Tracy, we wish you all the very best for the future. Parents/guardians, you can send a thank you note to Tracy and Robyn when you order lunches this week on Qkr. On the Everyday section, got to Note and add a message. And perhaps your kids can pop to the canteen between now and the end of the school year to say goodbye and thank you.

06.01.2022 If you forgot to send payment and permission forms to school today for the FUNday tomorrow, don't panic! You can complete both the permission form and the payment on QKR!, but it must be done before 8PM tonight. Make sure to scroll down to the P & C Menu on the QKR app.

06.01.2022 To help our wonderful admin staff return lost clothing to students, please remember to label your children's clothing (and check every school holiday to refresh their name if it has faded). The office currently has some items of clothing that are not labelled. If you are missing any clothing, especially after the junior sports carnival, please visit the office.

If you have children performing in tonight’s carols at Araluen, but you didn’t secure eventbright tickets, you will need to PM Araluen Botanical Gardens directly.

06.01.2022 Uniform Shop Update: The new Fleecy Jackets have a problem with pilling. If youve purchased one we need to know the code (5 digits) from the tag. Hopefully we will have replacements next year (in bigger sizes if you need - we know how fast kids grow!).

04.01.2022 Dont forget to send the kidlets in their house shirts tomorrow for cross country... coloured hair and accessories are encouraged!

02.01.2022 We understand some people have questions regarding the inability of parents to attend this years Edudance concerts. The P&C understands the school has valid reasons for doing so and is acting in the best interest of the school community, most importantly the children. However, as your representative body, we invite parents and citizens to contact us with your concerns and suggestions. We will present these to the school and provide an update in due course.... The P&C appreciates the efforts of the school administration to protect our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Likewise we understand the inconveniences and upsets this has caused parents and guardians. Your P&C
