23.01.2022 "Helping Fulfill Aussie Dreams"

21.01.2022 RBA Rate Announcement No interest rate relief for the Christmas holiday. As most economists predicted, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has left rates on hold yet again.... Despite the predicted surge in spending over the Christmas season, the RBA decided that it was not enough to justify a rate change in time for the New Year. RBA Governor Glenn Stevens had this to say about the current credit conditions: Inflation is low and should remain so, with the economy likely to have a degree of spare capacity for some time yet. Inflation is forecast to be consistent with the target over the next one to two years. In such circumstances, monetary policy needs to be accommodative. Low interest rates are acting to support borrowing and spending. While the recent changes to some lending rates for housing will reduce this support slightly, overall conditions are still quite accommodative. Credit growth has increased a little over recent months, with credit provided by intermediaries to businesses picking up. Growth in lending to investors in the housing market has eased. Supervisory measures are helping to contain risks that may arise from the housing market. The pace of growth in dwelling prices has moderated in Melbourne and Sydney over recent months and has remained mostly subdued in other cities. So, what does all this mean for you? With the recent changes in interest rates, now is the time to consider whether your current loan is the right one for you, right now. 13.01.2022 November 2018 Cash rate remains steady at 1.50% On a day notorious for people taking a punt, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has elected to play it safe and leave the cash rate unchanged at 1.50% for another month. Governor Philip Lowe had this to say in his official statement: Conditions in the Sydney and Melbourne housing markets have continued to ease and nationwide measures of rent inflation remain low. Growth in credit extended to owner-occupiers has eased but rema...ins robust, while demand by investors has slowed noticeably as the dynamics of the housing market have changed. Credit conditions are tighter than they have been for some time, although mortgage rates remain low and there is strong competition for borrowers of high credit quality. The low level of interest rates is continuing to support the Australian economy. What does this mean for you? Despite the cash rate staying at 1.50%, lenders may elect to move rates independently. As such, it pays to remain vigilant and keep an eye out for a better deal on your home loan. Not only could you save yourself some money, but free up some cash during the expensive Christmas period ahead!
