24.01.2022 With COVID putting weddings on hold, we've had some time to look back at where this all started for us...and to commit to writing more blogs.

23.01.2022 Barefoot and just married. I photographed this elopement after getting a last minute email from Silvia & Ben asking if I was available on a Thursday. Matt came home early, picked the boys up and I went out and shot these two along with the celebrant @cest_la_sophie. I love my ‘job’, it makes me feel so energised!

22.01.2022 Tenderness, touch, love, intimacy, BABE.. what word do you think of when you see this photo? I loved the water rushing in and out in the background too. S&B chose to elope during these restrictions and got married with a celebrant and myself at one of my favourite spots in Dudley. They travelled particularly for this ceremony, so I did the location scouts beforehand and we planned it out. This is something we include in all our couples weddings, making sure we get the best photos possible.

It’s the first little slice of time the couple gets where they feel like the eyes are off them and it’s such a natural moment. We are always watching for these ‘in between moments’. 03.01.2022 Love your choice. This was my mother's advice during her speech at our wedding. Loving your choice means many things. It means patience, kindness, forgiveness. I'm so lucky to have married my best friend, and she is my rock. I think of this when we capture our couples promising to be that person for their partner. And I think of it now as our couples are forced to cancel or postpone their weddings. That same patience, kindness and forgiveness can have such an amazing impac...t on how our families & communities come through these uncertain times. Those qualities are a healing balm against anxiety, fear, anger and despair. At the time of writing this, I am worried about my ability to put food on the table, I am angry at such an unfortunate and unfair situation, and at times I have been full of despair; for the future plans I once had seem as distant now as this reality once did. My wife has this ability to be hopeful but realistic at the same time, where as I am full of extremes. After a coffee in the morning I would tell you how nothing is impossible, and how I will do amazing things. Conversely I am also prone to spiraling, catastrophizing and after not enough sleep because the boys had a rough night or because instead of going to bed I watched Netflix I would tell you how my world might crumble and why we need to buy a van because we'll need a place to live once we stop being able to pay rent. It's at times like this that I love my choice, my wifes measured reassurance and kindness moves fears out of the dark and into a realistic, surmountable light. The future feels less knowable, I'm still fearful but I am hopeful that if our community practices patience, kindness and forgiveness we might just be alright. by The Loved Ones

03.01.2022 Mikayla & Lachlan on a perfect Spring Day last weekend. They had to postpone their first date and couldn’t have all their loved ones there in person on the day.. but they made it unforgettable. This was a beautiful moment down by the water @stanleyparkk where their guests came down to watch them and cheer them on as the sun was setting and creating MAGIC.
