10.02.2022 This post is not intended to be political or personal, but we have significant problems that have developed and it's only fair that the community be aware of the true causes and, that more issues are being created by recent Federal Government decision making and failure to plan. As a business we are very community focussed and through the pandemic we have done everything in our power to help business and community groups survive and continue to operate. Most recently we sourc...ed and procured quantities of Rapid Antigen Tests that have been supplied primarily to keep people in work, both commercially and retail. We all know that the supply of these is extremely tight now and this has only been exacerbated by the seizure of shipments in Customs under the Bio Security Act and other powers the Federal Government has to procure and stockpile for their own purposes. Importantly, these are NOT being used to provide free RAT's to support the roll out of the free distribution through pharmacies, but rather for their own uses as they see fit. So rather than plan ahead and obtain their own stock, commercially sourced and shipped stock has been seized in Customs and is not available for distribution to the wider community who so desperately need it. To add to this, the Free RAT program will require pharmacies to purchase their own stock, distribute according to the Government requirements (taking precious time vetting and recording details of recipient) and submitting these for payment that may take weeks. There is no Federal Government RAT stock being provided; the Pharmacies have to find their own. I'm sorry but this cobbled together last minute plan that affects our local business community and its' Citizens is unacceptable; we deserve better! See more
