24.01.2022 Whilst sadly we are unable to train at the moment we would like encourage our members to keep practicing at home in the garden. For any of our members that require a ball we have many of last seasons balls left over that we are happy to give should you be without. Ill be at Truemans Road Reserve tonight (Wednesday 8th July) between 4-5pm if you want to swing past to pick one up. Thanks for all of your support throughout our season so far. Stay safe, Up The Heart!

23.01.2022 We would like to wish all of our Rosebud Heart families a very safe and Happy Easter. We hope, although it will be different this year, that it is still a special time for everyone

23.01.2022 Dear Rosebud Heart families With the recent outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we felt it was important to provide everyone with an update on how this affects the Rosebud Heart Soccer Club and preparations for the coming season. Based on the best available advice from all levels of government, health authorities and Football Victoria we have decided that there will be no immediate effect on club activities including pre-season training which will continue as planned. We have... made this decision in part given the fact that training sessions are held in relatively small groups and in a setting that is not exposed to large groups of other people but we will of course continue to monitor the situation and provide a further update if advice changes. The decision on whether to attend training in the current circumstances is entirely up to players and their families. In the event that you decide not to attend, the club is understanding of your decision and just ask that you keep your team manager or coach informed. For those of you whod like to continue training we do request you to pay close attention to the following guidelines (and other available advice) in the interests of health and wellness of team mates and the wider community. If you are displaying any symptoms of the virus, please do not attend any of our sessions and consult your GP or health.gov.au for further advice. With limited access to facilities at our pre-season training venue we encourage teams and families to bring hand soap and hand sanitiser to training sessions and encourage all players to clean hands thoroughly and regularly. Please also follow all government travel guidelines and refrain from attending any of our sessions if you have recently visited any country on the advice list. In the interests of the health and well-being of the wider community, Football Victoria have advised that three upcoming events, the Female Football Festival, the Community in Business Breakfast and the Futsal State Championships have been postponed. They have also confirmed that all other events and competitions will proceed as planned but that the situation will continue to be monitored. The Rosebud Heart Soccer Club committee will continue to keep an eye on the situation and advice from the authorities but in the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at your next pre-season training session. We will, of course, keep you all up to date with any other important updates as and when they arise. Acknowledgement to Mount Eliza Soccer Club from which this communication has been adapted. Kind regards Anthony Matthews, Club President on behalf of the Rosebud Heart Soccer Club Committee

22.01.2022 Good afternoon to the Rosebud Heart Community Earlier today we received a communication from Football Victoria advising of the completion of a Return to Training conditions for Victorian clubs. These are mandatory conditions that have been built within the framework of provided by Sport and Recreation Victoria in order to limit the spread of COVID-19 and in accordance with Federal and Victorian State government guidance.... The prospect of a return to training in the near future is exciting for everyone including the Committee but there are of course a number of steps that the Committee will need to work through before we can return to training, including the following: Obtaining approval from Council to start using the training facilities at Truemans Road. Reviewing the protocols and putting plans in place to ensure the health and safety of all players, coaches, volunteers and families. Liaison with coaches in relation to the structure of training sessions i.e. days/times. Communication with the families of our players. The Presidents of all Mornington Peninsula based clubs are also having regular (online) meetings with our FV Club Ambassador Greg Hurvitz to discuss and share ideas about how each of us are dealing with the response to COVID-19. As a Committee we also have a number of questions which we have raised with Football Victoria and we hope to have some answers to those questions early next week. A link to the training guidelines is included in this post and we encourage our families to take the time over the weekend to familiarise yourselves with them. On viewing the guidelines you will see that the structure of training will look very different under these guidelines and we will need a lot of support from parents, guardians and other family members to ensure that the Club is compliant with those guidelines and the health and safety of everyone involved in the Club. We are sure that you will all have many questions which we will seek to address as more information comes to hand and we will continue to provide updates on our response to the implementation of the training guidelines and further guidance as it is released. In the meantime please dont hesitate to contact me on [email protected] or 0407 880 899 if you have any questions or concerns. Anthony Matthews, Club President Up the Heart! https://www.footballvictoria.com.au/return-football

21.01.2022 A little activity for our players miss you all, remember to keep practicing in the garden

20.01.2022 Good afternoon to all of our Rosebud Heart families We trust that you and your extended family are all well and managing with home schooling and the impact of the COVID-19 restrictions on your businesses and employment. We have just emailed all of our families an update on the current state of play. If you didnt receive this please email me at [email protected]. ... Please stay safe and play your part in limiting the spread of this terrible virus and take care of each other. Anthony Matthews Club President 0407 880 899

20.01.2022 Dear Rosebud Heart families Please see below an announcement that has just been made by Football Victoria (FV) following an earlier announcement by Football Federation Australia (FFA). The effect of these decisions is that all Club training activities are temporarily suspended until at least 14 April and this is effective immediately.... As a Club we will of course abide by this direction in the interests of the health and safety of our people and the wider community. We are sure there will be many questions and we will be happy to answer them to the best of our ability but we are sure most people will understand that we are all in uncharted waters and it will take some time to work through the implications of this decision and no doubt decisions that will follow in the future. Most importantly we wish everyone associated with our club, their extended family and friends and the wider local community the best of health and well-being in the weeks and months to follow. Anthony Matthews Club President on behalf of the Committee of the Rosebud Heart Junior Soccer Club 0407 880 899 FOOTBALL VICTORIA ANNOUNCEMENT Football Victoria (FV) welcomes Football Federation Australias (FFA) announcement today that all football (soccer) competitions across Victoria have been postponed until 14 April. This decision will be reviewed, and further advice provided at that time. Updates will continue to be provided regularly on the FV Website at www.footballvictoria.com.au/. FV President Kimon Taliadoros said the difficult decision was clearly in the best interests of the Victorian footballing communitys safety, health and wellbeing. FV has listened to, and wholeheartedly supports, our football family members and wants to allow them time and space to focus on their higher order priorities, Mr Taliadoros said. FV CEO Peter Filopoulos confirmed FV acknowledged the health advice and guidelines outlined by FFA, the Federal Government and Public Health Officers yesterday. It has become clear that in the current environment, communities are increasingly unable to focus on football activities which is completely understandable, Mr Filopoulos said. Whilst we have some competitions already in season, several extra competitions were due to kick-off across Victoria this weekend. This includes our NPLW (Senior Womens), NPL 2 and NPL 3 Senior Men and Mens State Leagues. In addition to the postponement of matches, all football related activities (including training) must also be suspended until 14 April. The health and wellbeing of our volunteers, players, officials, families and staff must come first. We are now contacting all of our 355 clubs across the state to update them of this decision, Mr Filopoulos said. FV looks forward to resuming football activities at the appropriate time and is currently scenario planning around potential competition options.

19.01.2022 We would like to let all of our members know that we are thinking of you all during this difficult time. We are sad we cant get to see our teams training. Please encourage your players to get out in the garden and continue to have the round ball at their feet. There are lots of skills they can still work on to prepare. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy Up The Heart https://www.playfootball.com.au/skills-hub/players

19.01.2022 Itsaburger generously supported all of our Sub Juniors with a weekly Itsaburger award last season, it was the highlight of our players week. They are onboard again this year when our season starts again so lets get behind the ItsaBurger team

19.01.2022 We are pleased to advise that earlier this evening we received notice that Football Victoria have released updated return to training conditions which come into effect immediately. A link to the new guidelines relevant for Junior Clubs is included below. Among other things it allows for the resumption of full contact training and as can be seen in these photos our Under 13s took advantage of this at the end of their training session tonight! Please note that while there ha...s been some relaxation in relation to limited provision for spectators that there will be no other relaxation of our protocols until further notice. We are immensely proud of how our coaches, officials, players and families have continued to adapt to the evolving landscape associated with the COVID-19 protocols and we know that this will continue. As always never hesitate to contact me on 0407 880 899 or [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns. 17.01.2022 All is in readiness for the resumption of training this week at the first class soccer training facilities at the Truemans Road Recreation Reserve! A big shout out to Lynsey Richmond for all her work with ensuring the club is compliant with our protocols, to our Technical Director and coaches for putting the plans in place to deliver compliant and fun drills for the kids, to our families for getting on with registering their children on Play Football and to David Richmond for... making arrangements for the line marking including setting the pitch layout great job by Mitch from ProLine Sports Line Marking, it looks superb! Thanks also to the Mornington Peninsula Shire for their work in presenting the ground in a great condition after some earlier challenges and to our Football Victoria Club Ambassador Greg Hurvitz for his continued support and guidance. This club is on the up and up and we cant wait to see you at training. Up the Heart!!!

14.01.2022 Good evening to our Heart families It’s incredible to think it has been more than 9 weeks since we were preparing for Round 1 to kick off from 11 July and how much our way of living has changed during that time! While the disappointment of our coaches, players and Committee about the suspension of training and playing was immense we all know that so many people have been doing it tough and that not being able to play the game that we love is in reality a small sacrifice to m...ake. We hope that all of our families have remained safe and well and have not been substantially impacted by the restrictions. Despite a small hope that a shorter season may have been able to get underway it has been clear since we moved into Stage 4 that this will not be a reality and Football Victoria have just announced the cancellation of all 2020 competitions they administer. The escalation of the restrictions has also prevented the Mornington Peninsula based clubs from proceeding with their plans to develop a modified locally based competition. As previously communicated we have been unable to make a decision on our refund policy until Football Victoria had communicated their refund policy and that policy was finally released last Thursday with the media release and a link the refund policy can be accessed via this link: https://www.footballvictoria.com.au//fv-2020-fee-refund-po. With this information in hand the Club is now in the process of finalising our refund policy and that will be communicated to all members via email within the next 1-2 weeks. We sincerely appreciate the understanding of our families in finalising the refund policy and we will be pleased to address any questions following circulation of the email. Take care Anthony Matthews Club President [email protected] 0407 880 899

14.01.2022 A Heart felt Thank You to all of the Nurses within our community this International Nurses Day. We truly appreciate all that you do

12.01.2022 Good afternoon Rosebud Heart Families We have just received a press release from Football Federation Australia via Football Victoria which is copied at the end of this post. At this stage there is no change to our Clubs arrangements to continue preseason training (following the advice previously given by the Club) but as per the press release we expect to provide another update later today.... We will of course continue to monitor all advice issued by all governments and sporting bodies and will update our members at the earliest chance we can if anything changes. Anthony Matthews Club President 0407 880 899 PRESS RELEASE Tuesday, 17 March 2020 Sydney, Australia Football Federation Australia (FFA) today advised that it is actively reassessing its position regarding the continuation of all sanctioned grassroots football activities at this time, including competitions, matches and training. Consistent with Australian Government requirements, FFA had earlier this week released guidelines that organised grassroots football competitions may continue but with additional measures designed to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the football community. Since it released its guidelines, FFA has been in constant communication with its community and is continuously receiving a variety of feedback from its grassroots, including competition administrators, and across the game more broadly. FFA is currently working together with representatives from each of its nine State and Territory Member Federations and other relevant stakeholders, within the framework of its guidelines, to ensure that it is responsive to what is a dynamic and continuously-evolving issue and that the health and wellbeing of both the football and wider community remains the highest priority. FFA will communicate a further update later today. -ends-

11.01.2022 Further to our post on Friday Football Victoria have just announced a proposed start date for competitions for Community Clubs (Seniors & Juniors) on 28th June 2020. Please note that FV have stressed that this is a "target date" and is subject to the further advice of the Federal and State Chief Health Officers. Limited additional information is provided in the link embedded in this post and we will continue to provide more information as it becomes available.... Our Committee and Coaches are in the process of developing an implementation plan for the resumption of training and we will provide more information about this in the coming days but it is likely that training sessions will re-commence at Truemans Road from next week. However please note that there will be necessary changes to the days, times and frequency of training sessions (among other changes) to ensure we can provide the safest environment for all players, coaches and families (and the wider community) and in compliance with the FV Stage 1 Return to Training Conditions. As always please dont hesitate to contact me on [email protected] or 0407 880 899 if you have any questions or concerns. Anthony Matthews, Club President Up the Heart! https://www.footballvictoria.com.au//fv-sets-proposed-date

11.01.2022 To our Rosebud Heart Community It is with the heaviest of hearts that we advise the Club has decided to suspend all training sessions effective immediately. Given todays announcements by Premier Daniel Andrews we felt this was the only responsible decision to make to protect our members and the broader community and to provide certainty to our families pending formal announcements.... We have also just received advice from Football Victoria confirming that all football related activity must cease in Metropolitan Melbourne (which includes the Mornington Peninsula Shire) and the Mitchell Shire which will be returning to Stage 3 COVID-19 restrictions from 11.59 pm tomorrow. We will provide more information about the implications for the 2020 playing season as soon as this is available. Our Committee and Coaches were certainly well prepared for the playing season to commence this weekend and we remain committed to playing should that remain possible at a later time. We wish everyone the very best of health and encourage you all to remain connected with your teams and the broader Heart community. Rosebud Heart Soccer Club Committee

10.01.2022 The club was excited to resume training for our junior and sub-junior teams 3 weeks ago and following the further easing of restrictions today today our Hub group will start next Thursday 25th June. Our committee and coaching staff have done a fantastic job of ensuring that we are delivering training in a fun and safe environment and in accordance with government and Football Victoria guidelines. Here are some photos of our recent training sessions featuring some of our teams in action. Up the Heart!

09.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all of our wonderful Soccer Dads

09.01.2022 As many of you are aware during the Summer our Committee appointed Darren Vincent as our new Technical Director, his main role will be to run our Football Department, working closely with our Coaches to ensure that our Members receive the best quality coaching. Darrens first move has been ensuring our Coaches are all qualified through Football Federation Australia. As a club we are committed to investing in our Coaches and supporting their development.... We are delighted to announce 4 of our Coaches have already completed their first course. Due to Covid-19 there has been a delay on the next course in which we are proud that all of our Coaches were registered on and will complete this season. As we celebrate National Volunteers Week the Committee would like to give a huge Thanks to all of our Coaching team, without whom the season could not go ahead. Please note we are still looking for someone to fill the role of Under 8s coach and also we are looking for a coach to take on our 2nd Under 10s team. Please contact [email protected] if you would like to know more about filling these roles, in which you will be fully supported. Congratulations Cal, Joris, Rob and David. The future is bright! Up the Heart!

06.01.2022 This week (18-25 May) is National Volunteer Week and this provides an opportunity to recognise the tremendous contribution that our Club volunteers make to the success of our great Club. Our Volunteers fill numerous roles from our line markers, linesmen and Club referees to our Coaches, Team Managers and other match day support staff, to the families and friends that assist with the setup and pack up for training and game day, to our BBQ volunteers, to those that assist with ...the planning and delivery of club functions to our General Committee and Executive Committee and so many more! Not only is volunteering the backbone of any community club it is also a very rewarding experience for those who take on those roles including developing a real and genuine sense of connection with the club. We always encourage and support new volunteers joining the Heart family and as reflected in the attached advertisements we are currently seeking people to take on the following roles with more information contained in the advertisements: Registrar with the primary role being the management and administration of Club registrations and associated enquiries. General committee join our General committee to take an active role in supporting Club operations and shaping the future direction of the Club. Under 8 Coach and Under 10 Coach We have coaching vacancies for one of our Under 8 and Under 10 teams. It is also likely that we will need more assistance in the delivery of training when training re-commences under FV return to training conditions and we will provide more information about this in the coming days. For more information on any of the above positions or if you would like to assist the Club in any other way please contact our Secretary Lynsey Richmond on email: [email protected] or by phone 0405 274 380 Up the Heart!

05.01.2022 We were excited last night to welcome our youngest Heart Members to start training for the season. With some returning players from last year and many new players joining us it was a delight to see their concentration and smiling faces. A great big thank you to Parents and Players of our Hub for patiently waiting for restrictions to lift slightly and allow us to train in larger groups. We appreciate how everyone read our Training Guidelines and we were impressed at how well ...this group of 5-7 year olds socially distanced. This group is almost at capacity and it really highlights the success of the program ran by returning Coach Cal and this year assisted by Asa. It is self evident from this video how much planning Cal put into the delivery of this training session and how professionally it was run. Cal is passionate about passing on his knowledge and love of the game to our youngest players and it is clear from the reaction of the players and their parents that the session was enjoyed by all! Thank you for joining us at Rosebud Heart, we look forward to the Season ahead. A warm welcome and heartfelt thank you to one of the Hub Parents Kym Curtis for stepping into not only the role of Team Manager for the Hub but also the role of Registrar, much appreciated! There are lots of opportunities to help out at the Club, no matter how big or small, if you are interested please contact [email protected]. Many hands make light work. The future is bright! Up The Heart!

05.01.2022 Good afternoon to our Rosebud Heart families. I'm sure everyone is excited at the prospect of most of our children returning to school early in term 4 and with some relaxation of other COVID-19 restrictions. We of course commend everyone to continue to take all reasonable steps to minimise your exposure to and risk of spreading the virus so we can return to a new "normal" as soon as possible. Following the recent announcement of Football Victoria's refund policy we have just... sent an email to all families advising of our Club's refund policy. If you didn't receive this email or have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or on 0407 880 899. Take care Anthony Matthews Club President

05.01.2022 As most of our families will be aware the Club made the significant decision in December to appoint Darren Vincent as our Technical Director. 02.01.2022 COVID-19 update - important clarification of training conditions Good afternoon to the Rosebud Heart family. As you may have heard the government have recently relaxed some of the restrictions relating to junior community support including the ability to commence full contact training which is great news.... Despite this please note that we MUST NOT commence full contact training until the Football Victoria Return to Training Conditions have been updated and any necessary adjustment to our procedures and guidance have been implemented. At this time those conditions have not been updated and accordingly we are continuing to operate under the most recent training conditions which (among other things) prohibit full contact training - https://www.footballvictoria.com.au//FV_Return_To_Training We will provide a further update to coaches and families as soon as full contact training is allowed to start. I take this opportunity to thank our fantastic team of coaches and officials who have worked hard to ensure that we are delivering training in the safest possible conditions and to our families and players who have also played an important part by fully cooperating with the guidance and directions provided by the Government, health authorities, Football Victoria, Council and the Club. You are all a great credit to the Club and our local community. We look forward to seeing our Hub players commence their training this Thursday night and your Committee and coaches are working hard to prepare for the commencement of the playing season on 11 & 12 July. A reminder that all players must be registered on Play Football before they can return to training. Please phone or email me (0407 880 899, [email protected]) if you have any questions or concerns. Anthony Matthews President Up the Heart!

02.01.2022 Good evening to the Rosebud Heart Community Further to our recent communications we are very pleased to advise that our Committee and coaching staff have been working hard to implement the necessary arrangements to enable our Junior and Sub-junior teams to re-commence training at the Truemans Road Recreation Reserve this week with the potential for games to start after 28 June. We have sent an email (in the last 24 hours) to the nominated contact for all players which sets ...out very important information including details of MANDATORY requirements that need to be met before your child re-starts training. We ask that you check your emails at your earliest opportunity to confirm that you have received this email and if not please e-mail the club at [email protected] and we will follow this up. If you didnt receive the email please also check your junk mail folder. Our ability to re-commence training is critically reliant on our players and extended families familiarising themselves with the COVID-19 protocols and treating them with the upmost seriousness to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved including our wider community. We have no doubt that everyone will do the right thing in this regard. We cant wait to see our members back at training on the first class pitches at Truemans Road and please dont hesitate to give me a call on 0407 880 899 if you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely Anthony Matthews President Rosebud Heart Soccer Club
