04.01.2022 A Fantastic Pub Hotel experience! Reviewed 7 September 2011 Ive discovered Aussie pub hotels as a great bargain especially as I travel alone. Its a mixed bag--there are the "flea bags" and some genuinely nice places. I put the Rosedale Hotel at the top of my list! What a joy it was to accidentally discover this place on a recent cycling tour through Gippsland in Victoria. The historic Rosedale Hotel was recently purchased by an enterprising and energetic couple in their ...70s---Lamprusco and Effie. Theyve quickly scrubbed, cleaned, painted, and restored this place to its former glory. I put the Rosedale at the top of my list of genuine Aussie pub hotels for these reasons: 1) the accommodations are first-rate; 2) its impeccably clean, freshly painted, and the beds are new; 3) Effie and Lamprusco are wonderful hosts; 4) the prices are ridiculously low. The location is perfect--close to shopping in Rosedale, right on the highway, and yet its absolutely quiet at night. Room Tip: All the rooms are great. Ask about the Honeymoon Suite!
