21.01.2022 ROUND 3 TEAMS It’s the local derby this weekend as we face off against Lindfield in a one day round. Grades 1-4 playing in our Navy shirts, please be at the ground by 9am. 1st Grade will be playing for the Stuart Mathlin trophy. Stuart was an ex-Lindfield player who went on to join Roseville in 1982/83. Unfortunately, Stuart lost his life at a young age in 1993.... Stuart was a 1st Grade batsman who batted anywhere in the order, but he was also a very handy wicketkeeper. He scored 3208 runs for the Roses, including 5 centuries with a highest score of 125. As a keeper he achieved 102 dismissals. A wonderful tradition that commenced in 1993/94, sees RDCC and LDCC continue to recognise Stuart whenever the clubs compete in a 1st grade round game each season. In the 1990s, Lindfield dominated but over the last 11 seasons the trophy has been held by Roseville. Go the rose

New Player to the club Triston Pickering top scored with 45 runs opening the batting. Other Roses players to look solid with the bat were Nick Woon and wicketkeeper Marty Cornford. ... Norths opening bowler and birthday boy Sol Balbi did the damage with the ball taking 3 early wickets. In reply Norths young opening batsmen Oli Jennings and Aden Clark got the bears off to a good start, before Roses leg spinner Rohan Awati dismissed both batsmen in the same over. Alex Gubbay and Ish Ahmad were the other successful bowlers. Another new player to RDCC this year, left arm orthodox spinner John Han also impressed with the ball. Well done lads. Good hit out. 03.01.2022 ROSEVILLE MILESTONES Over the first 4 rounds of the 20/21 season there have been a few milestones passed and some that are edging closer. We start with our all time run getters.... Over the past 2 Saturday’s John Biviano has gone from 7th to the top 5! Round 3 V Lindfield he went past Marty Evans (6213 runs) and then last Saturday past Ian Thomson’s (6229 runs). Still plenty of years ahead of him, he’ll continue his climb to the honour board. Richard High (coming in at No9) fell 1 run short of the same milestone. He’ll go in to Round 5 on 2999. Another Roseville favourite Will Blunt is closing in on his name being etched on to the honour board. Now only 4 wickets away from the 250. 02.01.2022 PLAYER REP UPDATES At last Monday's 1st committee meeting we voted in both our Club Captain & Covid Officer for the 2020/21 season. Henry Evans will take on the role of Club Captain after a successful couple of seasons both on and off the field at the club. The Club Captain is a strong figurehead around the club in helping with the organisation of social events, training and being a voice for the playing group. Henry has previously captained both 2nd Grade, 24s, served on t...he committee and is always active in helping out the club. We're confident he's the perfect man to help harness the great club culture Roseville is known for. Josh Miller steps in to the role of Covid Officer, as is the requirement for all sporting club associations in Australia. He will be implementing Covid safe practices around the club, overseeing the development of our organisations return to sport and acting as the clubs contact point for anything Covid related.
