24.01.2022 COVID Update - November 2020 Notice to All Members With the opening of the WA Controlled Interstate borders as of tomorrow 14th November, this is a timely reminder that WA is ... still in Phase 4 of the COVID-19 Recovery Roadmap. Clubs WA has been advised that the WA Government intends to re-introduce the mandatory requirement for venues to maintain a Contract Tracing Register. This may be in the form of a manual register (as the Club had originally) or are considering introducing a ‘QR Code’ app for Clubs to record the information electronically (similar to the eastern states). At this stage, the Club will be re-introducing the manual registers located inside the automatic doors, foyer of the main hall, inside the security gate and the rear ‘paper’ shed. Remember, COVID-19 is still out there and it’s important that as individuals, we have a responsibility to protect ourselves and fellow members and follow the recommended COVID protocols. 24.01.2022 Saturday 12th Sept. 2x4x2 Even though the sun was shining today, the winds were pretty strong, never the less, we all enjoyed our afternoon playing bowls. The winners of the day were: 1st: M Bicknell, G Maesepp. 2nd: M Blyth, B Bellon 3rd: H Klap S Wright ... 4th: T Churcher C Phillis WOL: Y Fleetwood T Laviano In the raffles today the winners were: Keith Edson who won a six pack of beer, and Ian Gurr, Harry Klam, and Ken Baines won the wine. In the $20 bats the winners were: Mark Armstrong, Steve Wright, Trish Baines and Karen Harvey. Third division had their practice match today at the club, and Brian Cranswick and Michelle Armstrong went off to play in the Champion of Champions. Brian unfortunately lost his game, and Michelle won her game, though she lost on the countback. Well done to both of them for representing our club.

23.01.2022 Yesterday was the last day of the Jackpot Pairs and the winners were Lynda and Patrick White. Thanks to Mike Basten, Garry Duffield and their helpers for organising such a great competition. It was enjoyed by everyone who entered.

20.01.2022 What a terrible cold windy day it was for the play-offs today, our guys did exceptionally well. One white in First Division played against Wanneroo at Sorrento to go up to Premier Division and won by 20 shots. I heard for the first time ever, Rossmoyne have achieved being promoted up to a Premier Division on a Saturday, so well done guys you have done your club proud. Third division played against Forrestfield at Forrestfield to go up to 2nd Division, they fought hard. On the 71st end they were 71 v 71, on the 83 end they were 5 down, then they lost the game to Forrestfield. It was great to see our club members come along and support the guys, I am sure they appreciated it. If anyone has a nice clear photo of the guys at Sorrento, would they email it to me. 18.01.2022 Today was the finals of the Men's Championship Fours. In the morning with the Major, P.Feszczak team won against John Carter, and T Churcher won against B.Bellon. In the plate: A.Petchell won against E.Gollan, and D.Green won against A.Currie. In the afternoon the overall winner for the Major was Peter Feszczak, Don Haddow, Merv White and Brian Cranswick. Runner up: Ray Halse, Mark Armstrong, Alan Wilkinson and Tony Churcher.... The plate winners were: Alan Imms, Peter Voon, Stan Bartlett and Danny Green The spectators enjoyed watching some great bowls played by everyone, well done! After, we all came in and listened to Jimmy playing his music, and enjoying the food by Lina's catering.

17.01.2022 On Friday, we had two teams go to a Gala day at Melville Bowling Club. They did not win anything on the games, however, in the raffles, our team had Sandra winning $20, Mary won a bottle of wine. Janet had a dot under her plate which won her the plant that was on the table. It was a great day, the lunch put on by the club was fantastic and everyone enjoyed themselves. 14.01.2022 It was another great Christmas Dinner Dance at Rossmoyne Bowling Club last night, where 117 people enjoyed a delicious meal provided by Elegant Touch Catering and were entertained by the lovely Deb Edson who had everyone up dancing with her great selection of music. It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves after having been thru such a traumatic year. We set up tables outside on the Alfresco Area, 35 people from South Care enjoyed the perfect weather sitting ou...tside, but still being able to enjoy the fun of the evening. Many thanks go to my Committee Mary Blyth, Margaret Osborne, and Bernie Bergmans. Special thanks must go to Ken Baines, Fred Osborne, Norm Blyth, and Carlo for setting up all the tables, also to Chris who worked tirelessly with us decorating the tables, and to our bar staff, Joanna and Deb. 12.01.2022 What a wonderful day we had for our Opening Day, Life Members Day, Trophy Presentation and Pennant Practice for 1st & 3rd Division. It has been a very difficult time for Match and Selection with the Covid19, so well done in the organising of today to fit all these events into one day. We were so happy to see our Life Time Member Tom Newby attend, Tom will very shortly be celebrating 101 years of age, what a marvellous achievement, he looks so good, congratulations Tom. Our... President Alistair Currie, welcomed members, life members and our guests Mayor of the City of Canning - Patrick Hall, Bannister Ward Counciller - Ben Kunze and Mike Nahan MLA. The President then officially declared the opening of the season 2020-2021. Before the Pop Stick draw started, we had the McMillan Brown Challenge and the winners of the $10 on each rink were: Y Fleetwood, M Kumar-Trehan, S Wright, G Smith, T Laviano, and G Maesepp. After all the events were finished, we came in and the raffles were drawn, for the beer and wine the winners were, Olga Grose, Warwick Allen, Bill Newbery & Steve Wright, with the bats for $20 Pat. McSherry, Anne Judge and Michelle Armstrong (who won it twice!). The winners of the popstick draw were: 1st G Maesepp J Marwick M Armstrong, 2nd: O Grose B Bergmans, C Youdell, 3rd: K Baines, K Edson, Bill Riekie. WOL: R Piggott, B Bellon, T Pasquale. In the presentations, various club event winners were announced and given prizes. 11.01.2022 Tonight we had the final night of Tuesday Scroungers for the year, 39 people participated in the game, plus another 5 who came socially. We all came into the club for the presentations of the winners, Ken thanked Elsie and Esther for the wonderful job they did in organising the food that we all enjoyed, what a great spread. Ken also thanked Richard for helping him run the bowls event. In return Ester presented Ken Walker with a gift for organising Tuesday nights, and Ken t...hanked everyone for coming, as without them, it would not be the success it is. 02.01.2022 Today saw the finalisation of the Men’s Championship Triples. In the plate we had the winners Peter Feszczak, Peter Voon and Don Haddow. In the major we had Wally Harvey, Rawley Lang and Allan Petchell, playing against Les Souster, Norman Blyth & Allan Herbert and what a game that was; on the 12th end they were 10 v 10, on the 16th it was 14 v 14, on the 19th 17 v 17, then going into the last end Allan Petchell’s team were up by 2, Allan Herbert's team picked up 1 shot which made them loose the game by only one shot. A magnificent effort and great bowls played, well done everyone, a very enjoyable game for the spectators watching.

01.01.2022 All Members Effective Saturday 5th December, the Rossmoyne Bowling Club is required to maintain a contact tracing register, be it a manual register or using the new QR code system. The Club has a registered QR code that is displayed when you enter the Club premises. To use the QR code system, you will need to download the ‘SafeWA’ app onto your mobile and scan the QR code on entering the Club but not required to be scanned when leaving the Club.... To download the app to your mobile, use App Store or Google Play and search for ‘SafeWA’. Once downloaded, you will need to register your contact details. The Club will continue to provide a manual register if you do not have a mobile phone. Just a reminder, the membership cards can be collected from the bar.
