22.01.2022 Thursday night saw club members join together for our Christmas Party. Zane shared a poem about batteries not included, talked about Christmas tree toppers and letting the love of the Lord shine through. It was a lovely evening. Thanks to all those who joined us.

19.01.2022 Dinner at the Pioneer Village

12.01.2022 Last night, Thursday 3rd December 2020, the Rotary Club of Inverell headed to the Pioneer Village to have dinner. The main purpose of the dinner was to have a look at a number of the buildings with the thought of adopting them. The Pioneer Village has been running for over 50 years. It has a variety of buildings that were transported in from around the region. The buildings over the years have had an assortment of groups caring for them. The number of volunteers has decr...eased, resulting in a call out to a number of service groups to assist. We viewed two buildings to consider to adopt. The Grove Homestead, dating back to 1840, was originally located in Tingha during the height of the early tin mining days. It‘s the oldest building in the village and depicts the homes of the early settlers during that period. It has two rooms with a separate kitchen. The second building we are considering adopting is Paddy’s Pub, build in 1874. It was transported from Stanborough. It has three rooms in the pub section and a separate large kitchen at the rear. The pub has a beautiful, relaxing verandah surrounding the building, with ample places to sit and relax and take in the view of the waterway. The kitchen area contains two large fire areas, a bathroom, a laundry and other small rooms. The night ended with a wonderful light show and a downpour of rain. Inverell Pioneer Village See more

11.01.2022 Welcome to a new year for Inverell Rotary Club looking forward to all things we are going to achieve and learn. The first meeting for this month was a short meeting due to a board meeting. We still had our weekly raffle, a fun fining session, notices, a meal and sharing of friendship. Being a short meeting we had a hasty history from one of our club members. Helen Tickle shared her connections that she was had with Inverell Rotary Club before she become a member. She shar...ed how these connections spread even through to her children. Helen's father was a member of this club, hence she was very keep to join Inverell Rotary Club when asked. Brian, going through old paperwork, acknowledge that it has been 50 years since Barry Bradley joined the club in 1971. What an amazing achievement. Don't forget that next week the guest speaking is talking about mental health and all members are encouraged to bring their partner. See more

02.01.2022 Last night we had the pleasure of listening to the speeches of two Year 11 students from Macintyre High School who will be our club's entrants in the Rotary Public Speaking Competition. They were Mikayla Budda-deen (left) who spoke on Aged Care and Lilly King who spoke on American Gun Laws. Both girls presented a well researched analysis of their chosen topics. Thank you to teacher Caroline Wilson who organised the girls and supported them at the meeting.
