25.01.2022 Let us hope that we will get back to Youth Exchange in a year or maybe several years seeing how things ate going right now with Covid. Anyone have any thoughts?



23.01.2022 Our District congratulates the Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak! The club celebrated its delayed 25th anniversary today with dress ups, cake, presentations and fellowship with past and present members. The club came together to reflect on all the club has achieved over the last 25 years doing good in their local community and around the world through Rotary's programs.

20.01.2022 Club members and guests had a special reason to gather at the Rotary Club of Tuggeranong’s weekly meeting this evening. Club member, Ted Frost, who joined Rotary in 1970, was congratulated and thanked for achieving an amazing 50 years of service above self to Rotary. Our District congratulates and thanks Ted for his service to his club, our District and achieving this unique milestone.

20.01.2022 Our Rotary District’s Governor Nominee for the 2022-23 Rotary year, Geraldine Rurenga, has thrown her support behind the Rotary E-Club of Brindabella’s EndTrachoma project with a practical contribution towards the campaign to rid Trachoma from Australia’s indigenous communities. 19.01.2022 This evening our District held our Changeover function in Young, NSW. Our 2020-21 District Governor, Michael Moore, from the Rotary Club of Canberra, took the opportunity to recognise Rotary members from across our District with various awards and Paul Harris Fellows. Michael then handed the District Governor's chain to our District Governor for the 2021-22 Rotary year, Leo Farrelly, from the Rotary Club of Belconnen.... Congratulations and thanks to Michael for leading our Rotary District and guiding us through the merger of Districts 9700 and 9710 from July 2020. 18.01.2022 The Rotary Clubs of ACT Emergency Services Community Awards is an award program hosted by the combined Rotary Clubs in the Australian Capital Territory. The Rotary Clubs of the ACT program chair has now announced the Emergency Services Awards 2020 finalists. Congratulations to the award finalists who have gone above and beyond to serve the ACT community.

16.01.2022 This evening, the Rotary Club of Goulburn, the Rotary Club of Goulburn Mulwaree, and the Argyle Rotary Club - Goulburn met together in the presence of our District Governor, Michael Moore, and formally merged together to become a single club to serve the Goulburn community. Our thanks go to the three clubs in Goulburn who have jointly served the Goulburn community. The clubs have provided leadership, friendship, and fellowship opportunities to their members for many years. Rotary has had a presence in Goulburn since 1930, and the merger of the three clubs will offer an opportunity in begin anew as a revitalised community service organisation that will serve the local community in Goulburn as well as the wider international community.

16.01.2022 The mayor of Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, Tim Overall, has thanked the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra for the club's service to the Jerrabomberra and Queanbeyan regional communities. The club has sponsored the delivery of various projects, including four park benches, two plumbed sanitisers, two un-plumbed sanitisers and a shade sail over the Jerrabomberra Creek Park playground. In addition, the club has provided a defibrillator at The Q theatre and supported the insta...llation of an adult change-table at the public toilets in Braidwood, in conjunction with the NSW Government under the Community Building Partnership Program. 13.01.2022 Well done Wagga Wagga RC BTW Elaine Almond was an Assistant Governor for D9700. Well done to the men in our oldest club in D9700 now we are D9705 not the oldest but a very good active club.



12.01.2022 Our District thanks the various Rotary Clubs throughout our District who have come together to support the Recover, Rehabilitate, and Reuse project, which is led by the Rotary Club of Belconnen. A significant element of this project is the Roofing Recovery Project, which was initiated by the Rotary Club of Crookwell. This project aims to repurpose used roofing iron and forward it to rural properties in our District, which were impacted By the January 2020 Bushfire Emergency.... Supported by the Rotary Club of Tuggeranong, whose members are coordinating the collection and transportation of roofing materials to Bumbalong and Tumbarumba, and the Tumbarumba Rotary Club, whose members are coordinating the distribution of roofing materials in the Tumbarumba and Batlow region. In addition, the Rotary Club of Bega, Rotary Club of Pambula, and Rotary Club of Merimbula are supporting the project and identifying further recipients in their local areas.

10.01.2022 Our District Governor, Michael Moore, is continuing to meet with clubs across our district, either in-person or virtually, to make himself known to clubs and their members and present the district’s structure and vision to members. This evening, Michael and his wife Helen, enjoyed an in-person meeting with the members of Woden Rotary.

07.01.2022 Our District 9705 Rotary Youth Exchange program is a proud Youth Exchange program participant. Our District’s program, through our clubs, has hosted hundreds of inbound students and sponsored outbound students who have been given the opportunity to experience a life in a year abroad in our partner countries. 03.01.2022 The Aussie Peace Walk held on the 27 and 28 March 2021 was a great success and celebrated Rotary in Australia's 100th anniversary (Rotary100downunder). The event was coordinated by Chris Edwards from the Rotary Club of Hall in Canberra, along with committee members sourced from Rotary Clubs throughout the Canberra region. The event was borne out of the Canberra 2-Day Walk, which began in 1992 and became the Canberra Walking Festival until 2020.... The Aussie Peace Walk is also a fundraising activity that supports Rotary Give Every Child A Future, a charity aiming to reduce child mortality and eliminate cervical cancer in the Pacific. Our thanks to the organisers and volunteers who made this year's Aussie Peace Walk a great success. Planning is now underway for the 2022 event. The full story can be found in the June edition of the Rotary Down Under magazine.

03.01.2022 A very good club on Bribie Island and I have made up a couple of meetings there.

03.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Canberra hosted several special honoured guests at their club meeting today. The meeting’s guest speakers included Governor General, the honourable David Hurley and his wife, Mrs Linda Hurley, who are honorary members of the club. The ACT Government’s Chief Health Officer was also welcomed as guest of the club and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow for her extraordinary efforts keeping the ACT safe through the pandemic.... Our District Governor, Michael Moore, and District Governor-Elect, Leo Farrelly, as well other past Governors were also in attendance.
