25.01.2022 Enjoying being able to attend the Virtual Rotary International Convention in comfort. What great speakers and Rotary presentations so far.

24.01.2022 Looking forward to a great year of Opportunities lead by President Adrian.

24.01.2022 An amazing record. Our charity deserves our support.

23.01.2022 Edgar Edmund, who was sponsored at the School of St Jude, Tanzania by Terry and Camilla Barker has just graduated from the Africa Leadership Academy, Johannesburg. We are very excited for him and very proud of his achievements. Well done Edgar.

22.01.2022 Our Annual Charity dinner, which was due to be held in May 2020 and was postponed due to COVID 19, will now be held on Friday 27 November 2020. See events for full details. This dinner is our club's major fundraising event and the proceeds allow us to continue to make a difference in our local community. #RotaryPeopleOfAction

22.01.2022 Thank you DG Ros for your leadership and encouragement during 2019-2020. It has been a different last 3 months for the Rotary year.

20.01.2022 This is the Rotary 100 Baton Launch Presentation. To save some time you should fast forward about 15 minutes to the actual start of the presentation.

18.01.2022 Housekeeping day at DIK. A good attendance of Rotarians and a lot was achieved. John, Camilla and Terry at the end of the morning. Next housekeeping day is 27 June.

18.01.2022 At our first face to face meeting since March this year we were pleased to welcome a new member. Dinmohamed (Din) Karim had been a valued member of our club for 6 years up until December 2008 when he was obliged to resign as he and his family moved to Zimbabwe. Din retained connections with Rotary and on settling back into Australia he sought to re-establish his association with our club. Welcome back Din.

18.01.2022 As President Adrian has suggested, if every member introduced just one new member this year, just think of what we could achieve. #RotaryPeopleOfAction

12.01.2022 Another very good ZOOM meeting today where we experienced an enormous amount of input from members in relation to a range of projects being considered for the 2020 - 2021 Rotary year. These projects include at least the despatch of a container of beds and other equipment to the Nadi Hospital Fiji, the continuation of the Stanthorpe Lockyer Valley Water Project, a possible Clean Water project in Indonesia and our annual fundraising dinner around October 2020. Screenshot of members attending is attached.

12.01.2022 New members welcome. Join our club for lunch at 12.30 pm each Thursday at Souths Sports Club, Acacia Ridge and experience #PeopleofAction.

06.01.2022 Another great ZOOM meeting today. Our guest speaker was PP Mark Anderson, Rotary Foundation Senior Coordinator at RIs South Pacific and Philippines Office in Parramatta. Marks presentation on Rotary and the Rotary Foundation (our charity) was thoughtful, challenging and thought provoking. We had 8 members present and were joined by PDG Jitendra Rotary Club of Brisbane International and Rotarian Camilla Rotary eClub of Australia Nomads.

06.01.2022 A great meeting yesterday at Souths Sports Club and on ZOOM. Our guest speaker was past Rotary Exchange Student Juliana Sweeney nee Ramalho from Brazil who was hosted by our club in 2001 - 2002. Juliana now lives in Brisbane with her husband John and son Antonio. She had a great story to tell about her Rotary journey including her being a Rotarian with the provisional Rotary Club of Australia - Hybrid. Our meeting was capped off with PP Lester Drew reinducting to our club Richard Bradley. Richard is a past member and Past President of our club. Welcome back Richard and Judy.

05.01.2022 Well in these challenging times there is more than one way to hold a successful Change-over meeting. President George today passed the collar of office virtually to President-Elect Adrian on ZOOM. Members, visiting Rotarians and guests heard our AG Wendy McIntosh propose a toast to Rotary International and an appropriate response by club friend and PDG Jitendra Prasad. P George summarised his year and then inducted PE Adrian. With the generous transfer of recognition poi...nts by our member and PDG Ross Forgione we were able to present 3 Paul Harris Fellows. PP George - 2 Sapphires for his existing PHF for his "Service Above Self" delivering almost 3 million litres of water to Stanthorpe and the Lockyer Valley - Service hours 1,052; President Adrian - a PHF as the incoming Club President; and Past Rotarian Christopher Johnston from Beaufort Victoria whose generous donations to the Rotary Club of Beaufort enabled that club to support the aforementioned water project with a donation of $3,000. Thank you to visiting Rotarians, PDG Jitendra, Rotary Club of Brisbane International; AG Dr. Wendy McIntosh, Rotary Club of Lockyer Valley; PE Mary-Ellen Nielsen, Rotary Club of Brisbane Taylor Bridge, Rotarian Camilla Barker, Rotary eClub of Australia Nomads; and P Anne Beer, Rotary Club of Beaufort for your support of our Change-over meeting and your input during the meeting. We would also like to thank Phyllis Fleming, wife of our Charter President Bevan for her attendance and input, when required, today. All in all, a very successful and enjoyable meeting. Congratulations PP George for your successful year and also congratulations to President Adrian as the clubs 37th President and best wishes for your year as "Rotary Opens Opportunities" Photos and screenshots are attached.

01.01.2022 The Rotary Foundation (Australian Rotary Foundation Trust), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Health Organisation are funding the eradication of Polio. A wonderful cause and we have an expectation of seeing a Polio free world in our lifetime.

01.01.2022 A great ZOOM meeting yesterday when we celebrated the 80th birthday of our Past President John Vernon. It was great that DG Ros Kelly and our AG Dr Wendy McIntosh were able to attend. PP John was presented with a birthday cake, a virtual birthday card and a virtual birthday gift. A letter from RI President Mark Maloney acknowledging Johns birthday was received and read at the meeting. It was a very social meeting enjoyed by all.
