18.01.2022 Bali When the team made their recent trip to Trunyan Village to deliver Water Filter units to families in need there, they also visited the home of young Ketut ... aged 7 to deliver, and fit him with a new WHEELCHAIRS FOR KIDS custom wheelchair. Ketut is a very quiet, and serious young boy, but such a dear little soul. Born healthy, the first few years of his life were quite normal for a young boy growing up in Trunyan village, lot's of playing with friends, running around, splashing in the lake etc. Sadly by the age of six he was showing early symptoms of Muscular Dystrophy. Within a year, he was no longer able to straighten his legs. He has not been able to walk since December of last year. His new wheelchair will allow him to join his friends at school for the start of the new school year in July, something he has been looking forward to. Muscular Dystrophy is a progressive disorder. A cure is yet to be found. With the speed of medical advancements currently happening at this time in history we remain hopeful that a cure can be found to help young Ketut, and so many other young children suffering this disorder, in the not too distant future Thank you very much to the Volunteers & Sponsors @ 'Wheelchairs for Kids' for providing today's wheelchair, to the Village Head (Klian), for bringing young Ketut to our attention, and to our GVF friends around the World who continue to support us during these tough times. God bless you. Globalvillagefoundation Bali, Indonesia Bali Disabilitas Disabilitas Saturday 10 April 2021.

18.01.2022 A wheelchair has helped create a fresh start for five-year-old Kizito in Uganda. His mother was finding it increasingly difficult to carry him around. She knew... he needed a wheelchair, but this was financially impossible. The family was running out of hope. especially for him. Now hes better able to move around and be involved in his community. Hes always surrounded by friends and siblings, ready to help him in his brightly coloured wheelchair. See more

17.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Peter Klaaysen lost his battle with Leukemia last night at home surrounded by his family. His wishes were for people to donate money to the Wheelchairs for Kids charity in lieu of flowers. This charity is close to Peter's Heart and he spent a great deal of time raising awareness for those who are less fortunate than us. To find our more please take a look at the Wheelchairs for Kids Facebook page or go to https://wheelchairsforkids.org/ To make a donation please click the donation link below. Although we have lost a great man we can continue to carry on his great work together. We appreciate whatever you can spare. Thank you in advance, from the Klaaysen Family.

04.01.2022 It is hard to believe it has been 3 months since we lost our incredible dad. We are all so proud of him and all the great things he achieved in his lifetime. Ou...r beautiful mum was at the Lilydale Memorial Park Cemetery yesterday, at dad's resting place. She presented him with a cheque which represents the generous amount of money that people donated to Wheelchairs for Kids in dad's memory. We want to say a huge thankyou to everyone who donated to this wonderful cause. Dad really would have be so overwhelmed with all the generosity. We all miss him so much. We know he is in heaven now looking over us all. Peter Klaaysen Memorial
