23.01.2022 Just letting you know that all Bunnings stores are collecting handbags this week, ends on Sunday if you would like to donate a new or good condition handbag con...taining shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush, soap or body wash and pads or tampons, they will all be distributed to women in need via the charity share the dignity. If you don’t have a bag we will happily take any donations of new toiletries, make up etc. We also need mum and Bub bags and teenage bags, head to the share the dignity Facebook page for full details I will also put details in the pictures. Any questions feel free to ask me

16.01.2022 Our club had its first in-person social gathering since June today - as we had brunch and a mini working bee to pimp up our Street Library at Rise & Grind 3133!... Kiel and Ash were joined by our new friends Naomi, Perry and Sarah as well as Judith and Gabby from our parent club Rotary Club of Nunawading. We also hatched plans with our great supporter and cafe owner Maddie for an exciting Xmas initiative. Watch this space!

13.01.2022 On April 21,1921, 32 prominent Melbourne citizens met at Scott’s Hotel and agreed to form the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Vic. One hundred years to the day, we wi...ll celebrate the centenary of Rotary in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific with a peace symposium. Titled ‘The Future of Peace Leadership’, the peace symposium will be run online over two half-days on April 21 and 22, 2021. Nobel Peace Prize winner José Ramos-Horta, President of Timor-Leste from 2007 to 2012, will be among the impressive line-up of speakers. Other speakers will include Associate Professor Tilman Ruff AO, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017 for his work on nuclear disarmament; Emma Leslie AM, the Executive Director of the Peace & Conflict Studies Centre in Cambodia and who was nominated for the Nobel Prize in 2005; and Natascha Hryckow, Coordinator UN Panel of Experts on Somalia. Six 90-minute optional sessions are planned. The sessions will cover Indigenous reconciliation, family violence, peace and economics, humanitarian action, business and human rights, and how to develop peacebuilding projects. Registrants will be able to select one on each day to attend. Rotary International President Holger Knaack and Chair of The Rotary Foundation Trustees past RI President Ravi Ravindran will also address the symposium. To conclude, past RI President Ian Riseley will join Peace Fellows and community leaders in a facilitated discussion on how we can all work together to prevent and resolve conflict and build a more peaceful world. 12.01.2022 Thank you to the Star News Group for the great article on the Kids Fun Run With Thomas and the awarding of the Cardinia Event of The Year. We are delighted to b...e acknowledged, but more importantly so proud to organise an event each year that gives back so much to children's causes. Watch out for information on this year's event we are hoping to run the event in November - COVID willing. We are once again supporting the wonderful research into childhood cancer undertaken by the team at the Monash Children's Hospital. The Rotary Foundation is also associated with eradicating polio and provision of scholarships. In celebration with the Rotary Foundation we introduce you to our 12 Days of Christmas - Cards of Impact. These are available until the 19th of December. See more

We al...so had the privilege of seeing Val Henry receive a ruby companion certificate and pin for her substantial support of Australian Rotary Health over many years, from Australian Rotary Health district representative Glenn Tippett. President Bernadette also presented Chris Karajas with a Paul Harris Fellow for his service to the local community. See more

The Centurion Club is an Australian Rotary Foundation personal giving initiative, ...where Rotarians contribute A$100+ per year to The Rotary Foundation in order to assist the funding of local & International projects by Rotary Clubs to do ‘Good in the World’. As part of the R100 Theme where Aust & NZ Rotary Clubs will celebrate 100 yrs of service in 2021, your District has been challenged to lift Centurion Club Membership to 50% of District Membership. In order to meet this challenge, you can assist by making ‘The Australian Rotary Foundation’ your Charity of Choice. No other charity offers the benefit where you can personally see the results.
