23.01.2022 Things have been so busy here at District 9640, and tomorrow, our very own Rotary Club of Surfers Sunrise will be celebrating sending their 10 000th wheelchair to disadvantaged people around the world...this is a monumental achievement! Head down to the Parkwood Arundel Community Centre, Napa Road, Arundel between 9am to 12pm tomorrow, 14 November for the party!

18.01.2022 A wonderful District Awards Ceremony and Changeover was enjoyed by 130 members and guests from our 58 clubs. Outgoing DG Ana Andy Rajapakse handed over the leadership to Jeff Egan. Thank you DG Andy for your dedication and passion for Rotary, you kicked major membership goals and wonderful achievements during a challenging year. Our members look forward to working with DG Jeff during 2021-22 and wish him a wonderful and exciting year ahead. DG Andy honoured clubs and members for their great year during challenging times. Congratulations to all our 58 clubs and members for the 2020-21 year.

08.01.2022 Welcome to Rotary Club of Surfers Sunrise Natasha Price and Adam Sheppard. Both are champion wheelchair athletes. Natasha won Gold in Sunshine Coast and Auckland marathons and completed the Gold Coast marathon. Adam her Trainer, was a Rotary youth program alumni sponsored by Runway Bay Rotary in our district. New members bring new perspectives, new experiences and endless opportunities.

08.01.2022 Congratulations to our 2 new Rotary Clubs of The Granite Belt in Stanthorpe with 20 members and the Gold Coast Corporate with 27 members on receiving their Rota...ry International Charter last week. Yes, 2 new clubs in the first 4 months of this Rotary year starting 1st July. In these 123 days, we in District 9640 Australia attracted 128 new members. Hope Island Rotary attracted 12 new members, Ballina of Richmond Rotary 11 and Gold Coast Passport Rotary 5 plus 19 other clubs increased membership. They helped our District to a +84 net increase to be the leader in membership growth across Australia and our Zone 8. With 35% of females and 8% of under 40's (Millenials) in our 1261 members in 55 clubs, we are the Benchmark District in Australia in attracting females & young people to Rotary. 07.01.2022 Congratulations Jennifer Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada, has been nominated to become Rotary International’s president for 2022-23. Jennifer will be Rotary International’s first ever female President in the organisation’s 115 year history. History in the making!

06.01.2022 We are off and running for Australia’s Rotary 100 Baton Relay. D9640 NSW clubs joined together in Ballina today to plan our Centenary Celebrations. It’s great to hear the enthusiastic discussions and ideas about celebrating 100 years of Rotary in Australia. Many Rotary clubs in D9640 are dedicating the 100 relay to a cause that is most relevant to our communities in Australia. Our Rotary 100 Baton Relay Cause is "Rotary Says No to Domestic Violence." PDG and International ...Service Chair Terry Brown also spoke about our District Resource Network. Club Development Chair David Baguley spoke about the wonderful Australia Day grant opportunity for clubs.
