25.01.2022 Tonight at Rotary we enjoyed the company of Linsi & Jodi Satini. They spoke about the rare illness that their beautiful 3 year old daughter has and their journey. ZC4H2 Deficiency is now the new normal for their daughter with no known cure. The bravery and tenacity displayed tonight by Jodi & Linsi was inspiring. Looking around the room tonight there were some rough tough men’s eyes welling up, listening to your story. ... Thank you Linsi & Jodi for sharing, still with a smiling face of gratefulness. Our club wishes you all the best for the future.

20.01.2022 FINALLY, all packed ready for the Solomons. Thanks to all my helpers, I really appreciate it. Still not 100% on our departure date, but fingers crossed we can secure a date soon. There are certainly going to be some happy, happy people when these doors open up in the Solomon Islands. Yours in rotary Peter Johnson

16.01.2022 GATES FLY, AND THEIR OFF & RACING AT ROTARY. Last night, our club had their Melbourne Cup function. Our guests had an absolute ball. Considerable effort went into making this event so successful. Special mention goes out to Jaques van der Berg and his wife Corne' & Kim Coombes, the effort put in was over & above all our expectations. Paul Anderson did a great job running the WII races. I had a ball, running the bookmaker duties. Reg Ross did a great job as the racecourse announcer. North Mackay Bowls Club provided first class customer service. We can’t wait until next year. This event could only be so successful with the participation of all of the guests.

16.01.2022 So loading & unloaded approximately 1.5 tonnes of surplus old school desks and chairs we certainly got those sweat glands and muscles working. As they say use it or lose it and no need for the gym today. Thanks Pete, for the icy cold water which went down so well. Many thanks to those who were able to help. Thanks also to Mackay Car & Truck rental for the use of the pantek truck. Well done fellas. Rest easy tonight.

15.01.2022 Adding to the container is so rewarding as we take a snapshot of progress so far. If it wasn’t for our sponsors, donations, and fellow rotarians giving up there time to assist, it just wouldn’t be possible. Thanks to MOE OPD Mackay and Whitsundays for supplying stationery supplies.

15.01.2022 Many thanks to our local Mackay Jenny Craig centre for thier donation of surplus office chairs to our Solomon Islands Project.

10.01.2022 The North Jacklin Motor Group and the Rotary Club of Mackay North would like to advise that this year’s Great Community Fundraiser has unfortunately been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. It will be back though in 2021, bigger and better than ever before.

10.01.2022 Last night at Rotary, our club was treated with a Vocational Visit to Mackay Fire & Rescue Station & Mackay Auto tech. The QFRS are equipped with state of the art units with more lifesaving equipment that you could imagine. Technology these days certainly wowed the club members. Rest assured the Mackay Region has some of the best equipment on hand equal or better to metropolitan areas. As we know it’s not just fires these days, they have equipment available for emergencies we haven’t even considered. Thumbs up to QFRS. Then to top it off Our club member and owner of Mackay Auto tech, Steve Caruana treated the members with a visit to the business, a bbq & beverages and a little show bag to take away. Random Act of Kindness. Great organization shout out to John Chick. Well done
