19.01.2022 On the last day of Term Three Kindergarten held a special assembly to farewell Year Twelve. This year things were a bit different with singing unable to take place so instead students performed actions to the songs and Kindergarten did a flashmob dance. Questions about each other's experience at the College were asked and prayers for each other shared. At the end of the concert, Kindergarten were able to present Year Twelve students with a rose or chocolate and a card they had made.

16.01.2022 SELF ISOLATION PROJECT Cant go out? Looking for a new hobby? Time on your hands? We are asking our amazing knitters to create your choice of a beanie or a scarf (or both if you like!) that will then be sold at the 2021 Hills Relay for Life to raise vital funds for cancer research, prevention programs and support services. A portion of the beanies and scarves that are made will also be donated to Cancer Information Centres and accommodation facilities for cancer patient...s to wear as they go through treatment. What can you do? 1. Pick a beanie or scarf pattern. A couple of free ones are available for you to download below or you are welcome to use your own! You can also create as many beanies and/or scarves as you like. 2. Get yarned and dangerous choose your preferred yarn. Cancer Council prefers the colours of blue, white and grey, but if you want to go wild! You dont have to use all the colours, but we suggest 2 as a minimum (we would also accept garments that are blue only if thats the only colour you have!). o A little tip as we are donating a portion of beanies and scarves to cancer patients, we suggest you use non-irritating yarn, avoid bulky seams and ensure the stitch pattern provides adequate coverage. 3. Knit away! Once you have finished your beanie and/or scarf, send it in to the College via Reception. If knitting is not your talent, donations of wool will also be gratefully accepted. Please mark it clearly with your name and your students name and class so we know who to thank. Please also email photos of yourself and friends knitting your beanies to [email protected] Debbie Elliott RHAC RELAY FOR LIFE COMMUNITY TEAM CAPTAIN https://www.doitforcancer.com.au//knit-for-cancer/knit-for

14.01.2022 For parents of Junior School students who did not receive the email regarding uniform arrangements for Term Two, here is a summary: As is normally the case, students are able to wear either summer or winter uniform from the commencement of Term Two until Mothers Day. This year that encompasses the first two weeks of term so will only be relevant for students who need to attend school as they are unable to be cared for at home. From Week Three we expect students will be in ...full winter uniform, as per regular uniform requirements. However, given the current climate and some limitations around the Uniform Shop, we understand there may be delays for some families who need to purchase items of winter uniform. For any enquiries regarding uniform please contact [email protected] If you anticipate any difficulty with your child being in full College winter uniform for Week Three please advise the College directly via [email protected] Sport Uniform arrangements will be communicated from Week Three onwards, once days have been determined for grades in their return to school. For Weeks One and Two any students attending school do not need to wear Sport Uniform. See more

10.01.2022 BOOK DONATIONS REQUIRED The Leos Club is a nonprofit RHAC based service group completely funded by the Blacktown/Ponds Leos Club. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, projects for the club have been limited. This has caused the club to be creative and come up with safe ways to serve. An idea was for us to collect books for Baradine Central School, as this school is unable to gain the same resources for learning as we have here at the College. The club needs as much help as we can get to really make an impact. Any books from a Junior to middle Senior School age range in good condition would be much appreciated. Donations can be made to the Junior School Reception box for younger books and Senior School Reception box for older books.

09.01.2022 Congratulations to Riley S who competed in the Canberra State Titles for Go-Karting in the school holidays and finished 3rd. He raced over two days and had his fair share of kart and engine issues. This was a race meet for Riley where he could have won the state championship but it wasn’t to be. He is racing next month in the NSW State Titles over four days and is hopeful of taking away the winners trophy.

09.01.2022 Do you know an RHAC Collegian deserving of this award? Have them nominate before November 16th. The Collegian of the Year Award is an RHAC P&F Association initiative to recognise and support of the work of a former student who is building upon the values and skills learnt whilst at the College to actively contribute and serve the wider community. The successful applicant will be recognised at Presentation Day and be added to an Honour Board. The P&F will donate to a non-profi...t organisation chosen by the Collegian of the Year. Nominating yourself or another worthy Collegian of any year group is not only an opportunity for us to celebrate your achievements, but is also of great benefit to a charitable organisation in need of financial assistance. Nominations can be made and submitted to the College office anytime until 16th November. The Nomination Form can also be found on the College website. http://www.rhac.nsw.edu.au/collegian-of-the-year.

There were some very creative inventions on display, some of which stood up to the pressure test and others which failed spectacularly. 04.01.2022 Students in Year Seven to Ten recently had the opportunity to participate in 'Write a book in a day'. Write a Book in a Day is a fun, creative and collaborative competition. Teams of up to ten have just twelve hours to write and illustrate a book from start to finish. To make it even more fun, unique parameters must be included in the story. Digital editions of the completed stories are donated to children in hospitals across Australia. Here are some examples of what our creative students created.
