21.01.2022 This week is #WomensHealthWeek and a timely reminder to reschedule missed health checks. It’s so important to look after both your physical and mental health, particularly now, so if you’ve delayed that blood test, or ultrasound please make sure you book in to see us. We’ve taken the necessary steps to keep you safe at the clinic, and we also have Telehealth available. Remember, you CAN travel further than 5km from home for medical reasons. 21.01.2022 Are you a commercial passenger vehicle driver or food delivery driver? For the next two weeks, DHHS are asking you to get tested for COVID-19, even if you don’t have any symptoms. 20.01.2022 The Royal Children’s Hospital National Child Health Poll has found 20% of children under 5 years have had their vaccinations delayed because of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Please do not delay important health care, such as routine childhood vaccinations. Getting vaccinated on time ensures that your child is protected and can safely go back to childcare, kinder or school once restrictions have eased. You can be reassured that we do everything we can to make our clinic, your clinic, a safe place to attend. https://www2.health.vic.gov.au//%7B8749845C-A040-49FB-8FCF

15.01.2022 WE ARE NOW ABLE TO PROVIDE E-SCRIPTS! What on earth is an e-script?, you ask? Well, an e-script is basically an electronic prescription. Particularly handy during these Telehealth times, patients can have their scripts sent directly to their phone via SMS or e-mail. It comes through as a QR code, which looks like a barcode, which you then present to your pharmacist and ta-daaaa! Done. ... Give us a call if you have any questions.

08.01.2022 Data released by Cancer Council Victoria indicates melanoma reporting to the Victorian Cancer Registry decreased by 31 per cent in the first period of restrictions in Victoria. There is concern amongst health professionals that some cancers are not being diagnosed because people are nervous about visiting doctors for check-ups, cancer screening and important follow-up investigations. Don’t delay. Cancer doesn’t stop because of COVID-19. https://www.cancervic.org.au//campaign-urges-people-to-see

08.01.2022 Kindness. In the midst of this really difficult time here in Victoria, the kindness of friends and strangers alike really stands out. Whether it be delivering banana bread, checking on your elderly neighbours, drawing a rainbow to put in your window, or simply just checking in with each other to make sure we’re all ok. Today we received a surprise package from @sunshinecoastkindnesspandemic - headbands so our ears don’t get sore from wearing masks all day. Thank you so much from all of us here at Rowville Health. Our hearts (and ears!) thank you

07.01.2022 It feels like we don’t talk about the flu anymore, doesn’t it? While the stats have dropped incredibly, largely due to a huge increase in the amount of people having their flu vaccination, hand washing and social distancing, there is still flu around. The flu season is generally from April til October, so if you haven’t had your flu vaccination, or you know someone that hasn’t, we still have some in stock. 97641617.

06.01.2022 Some of our littlest patients took the time to make us some beautiful banana bread! It made our week. Thank you

04.01.2022 Welcome Carly to Rowville Health! Carly is our new physio and is working Monday to Friday. Carly completed the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at The University of Melbourne. Prior to this she did a Bachelor of Health Science in Myotherapy. She has a keen interest in helping patients with their shoulder pain, neck pain and headaches along with other injuries and pre and postoperative rehabilitation.... Carly is a very hands on practitioner who then adds exercise based rehabilitation to combine and get the best outcome for her patients. She utilises treatment plans that include easy to understand advice and education paired up with soft tissue therapy and hands on treatment, joint mobilisation and exercise based rehab to get the best result for her patients. In her free time she enjoys playing with her Wolf lookalike dog, and when time allows likes to train MMA and play Hockey. She is also trying to learn guitar, but is still pretty bad at it even with all the free time due to lockdown.

03.01.2022 Today is #ruokday2020, and with current stage 4 restrictions, it’s never been more important to connect with those around us. So we’re asking YOU, RUOK? Reach out to us if you need to speak to one of our GPs, or to speak to one of our psychologists who are also offering Telehealth appointments. It’s a tough time in Melbourne, and it’s ok not to be ok, but please take the steps to talk about it. We’re here. ... We’re also encouraging you to check in with those around you. A conversation can change a life.

01.01.2022 Many of our children have their vaccines administered at school, but obviously this hasn’t happened this year. Remember to keep up to date and make an appointment with your GP to ensure your child’s vaccination schedule isn’t off course. There’s a lot we’d like to do post stage 4, so do the essential stuff now!
