25.01.2022 Where are we, what are seeing? Off to buy some supplies for a new venture.

25.01.2022 This fabulous new venture is set to be a winner. We are excited to be one of the foundational members. Stay turned!

25.01.2022 It's been a busy few weeks in the Royal Arms' family's personal life. Probably tops was that Grant and I attended the Graduation Dinner for our son at Darling Island on the weekend. Grant's attire amazed friends and family, and I thought some of our past guests and online community might be interested as well. Di

24.01.2022 Some of the best photos on our website are taken by the lovely David Wallace David was the photographer for the Australian Women's Weekly in the 1980s when the Queen visited. His photos of her were on the front page. David also did great portraits of many interesting people. This particular photo the Queen asked for a copy. ... It's our pleasure to know David and be photographed by him

22.01.2022 Some gorgeous photos of our gorgeous village. Enjoy. And visit too

20.01.2022 Meeting about the rubbish

20.01.2022 Guessing comp #1 for this Saturday. It has been partially dismantled and taken off to Canberra for repair.. What is it?

19.01.2022 Guessing Comp #2 continued; this a closeup of the topside of the handle, it came with the stove.

19.01.2022 Today, for the first time you can view the new Projector Room that's been put together by Gwenn Kneabler of the Butcher's Hook. Visit the Pioneer Hall between 12-2pm for covid-safe entry (with a gold coin?)

19.01.2022 What was in the back of the red ute! This old 18th century gem is about 7' tall, hence it stuck out over the tailgate. The top part of the longcase back could be seen in the guessing comp photo. Thanks to those who enjoyed guessing.

16.01.2022 I'm upstairs making beds for tomorrow night's guests from Newcastle. Sadly we've had a lot of cancellations from Sydney these holidays, like everywhere in the Snowy Mountains. The afternoon Monaro light is enthralling and I just want to share it. Although my photographic skills don't do it justice, here is my offering:

13.01.2022 Oh what fun. Next guessing comp! What is the weight of the big one in the foreground? Di picked some fabulous mushhouses* yesterday. * Mushhouses = BIG mushroooms! The slotted spoon is 12cm (just under 5") wide! Answer to nearest 20grams or 1oz!

13.01.2022 And in it goes! Underground fuel tank being craned into place and bedded in. Fuel in Nimmity is closer to becoming a reality after a close on 2 decade absence.

12.01.2022 The bull frogs on the lake were spectacularly deep this afternoon. The breeze was up so it's a little hard to hear, but the vista of the Lake is stunning

12.01.2022 Beautiful colours of the Monaro with the touch of snow in the distance

12.01.2022 The greens are so bright out the window of one of our bedrooms this morning

11.01.2022 Watching the grass grow! Best thing to do this year! While the dog watches the rabbit that has dug out of its hutch. And yes that is a coconut shell Keely is carrying in her mouth!!

09.01.2022 September 9, 1957. "Mrs. Willis Cooper baking and canning in the kitchen of her farmhouse near Radcliffe, Iowa." Color transparency from photos by Jim Hansen for the Look magazine assignment "Iowa family." Wow. How inadequate do I feel? Pinched from a FB group called Vintage Photography Plus

09.01.2022 Guessing Comp#2 part3 A close up of the cooking surface!

09.01.2022 Nimmitabel Show Society would like to advise all sponsors, members, exhibitors and spectators that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Show that w...as scheduled for 5-6 February 2021. Whilst we would have loved to put on a show for the community after everything that has been endured in 2020, we decided that the short time remaining until our show dates is not enough to deliver a quality event, and that the COVID-19 restrictions and safety requirements would be difficult to manage, but also result in a poor exhibitor and spectator experience. We want to thank all of our previous years’ sponsors for their support, especially the sponsors of our Mini Show held in March this year, and look forward to working together to deliver the community a bigger and better show in 2022.

09.01.2022 Guessing Comp #2 Part 4. The pan seen from the side, notice the cones are higher in the middle than the edges and follow the curved surface of the pan. Cone height about 10mm.

08.01.2022 Happy American Independence Day to our American family. We look forward to seeing you again as soon as we can.

08.01.2022 Look at that blue! Snow down to 1000m today. Hope that's not us, but probably going to be cold

08.01.2022 LAND SLIP BROWN MOUNTAIN A tree and boulders are blocking the Snowy Mountains Hwy, south of the lookout. For live traffic updates, head to Live Traffic NSW. ... Kate Aubrey - stuck en route to Canberra

07.01.2022 Mel tossed in a packet of carrot seeds. Now harvested about 120 carrotlets! Some from juicing Some for steaming Some for the pets.

07.01.2022 Fascinated by teaware. Here are two collections, each part of a wedding gift to Melissa's two grandmothers. Each from different parts of Europe. We had them specially shipped from Massachusetts when Melissa's parents downsized recently. Our Tea Rooms are open again today, Saturday, from fine teaware, delicious food, and open fireplaces 10am-4pm

04.01.2022 Tomorrow in Nimmitabel

02.01.2022 We're very excited to be approved to receive Dine and Discover vouchers! We will be holding our next High Tea on Saturday 7th August. A perfect opportunity to use a voucher. We also do High Teas as a bookable event. ... This photo was High Tea for a 60th birthday party for 12 people. It was for dinner, so it included more savoury items than the usual afternoon tea time. 02.01.2022 New shop opening today at the old Butcher's Hook across the road. Cassie, its owner, is born and bred Nimmity. We wish her all the best. https://www.facebook.com/1922074548025322/posts/2882054222027345/
