07.03.2022 Physical and mental health has always been a huge part in my development as a person and also as a coach. My name is Ryan King and I’m the proud founder and owner of Royal Athletic. I have been coaching for over 15 years. I myself have struggled with mental health and training was and has been my only outlet to control my thought pattern and break through the stresses of life. Growing up, I spent a huge amount of time on the sporting field, at both club and national level. O...nce that all stopped, I really missed the team spirit and camaraderie. What it means to be apart of a team environment motivated me to perform at my highest level. Royal Athletic is all about the team environment and supporting people around you. To push past that voice in your head that tells you to stop so you can break and achieve things you thought impossible. This is the foundation of my approach to coaching and together, we are achieving amazing results both physically and mentally. Mental health is such an important part of wellness and I’m super proud to be helping so many likeminded people overcome these struggles. A good coach can change a game, a great coach can change a life I look forward to seeing the future of Royal Athletic and how we will change the game

02.02.2022 SLEEP BENEFITS For both athletes and non-athletes, sleep is essential for overall health and wellbeing. Everyone needs sleep in order to feel restored and function their best the next day. Other physical benefits include:... Allowing your heart to rest and cells and tissue to repair. This can help your body recover after physical exertion. Also, as you progress through the stages of sleep, the changes in your heart rate and breathing throughout the night promote cardiovascular health. Preventing illness or helping you recover from illness. During sleep, your body produces cytokines, which are hormones that help the immune system fight off infections. All of these restorative effects are important for athletes and non athletes to recover and repair for performance. These guidelines will give you a rough estimate as to where you should aim. Try get between 7-9 hours and take note of your efficiency and function the next day. If your mood is down and you are feeling overtired maybe you got too much sleep. Add or adjust accordingly until you find your ideal sleep length. TIP: set a nighttime routine for example a calming tea or some light reading until you start to feel sleepy. I use CBD oil as it’s made a huge difference to my sleep quality and recovery. Switch off all electronics to keep the mind less stimulated
