21.01.2022 Luke Maddalena one of our fantastic staff members at Royal Rehab Private Hospital, talks about what it means to see people improve after stroke, and some of the steps on the road to rehabilitation. "We provide multi-disciplinary care to help rehabilitate clients so they can achieve their goals. It's very rewarding seeing them improve from a wide variety of symptoms which are determined by the severity and location of their stroke. As well as working with the clients to restore function and independence, we also address necessary lifestyle and behavioural changes to ensure that the risk of further cardiovascular disease is reduced." #strokeweek2020 #signsofstroke #stopstroke

07.01.2022 This week we’re celebrating International Volunteer Managers Day! What better way to celebrate than to win an award! Our passionate Royal Rehab Volunteer Services team was credited with an Excellence in Volunteer Management at the recent NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards ceremony by the Centre of Volunteering. 06.01.2022 After an horrific cycling accident last year, Carlos experienced a traumatic brain injury, fractures, significant loss of motion in his hips and legs, decreased eyesight and paralysis of half of his face. Thankfully Carlos’ good health and fitness ensured he was in the best possible shape to fight for his life and fight he did and continues to do so today. Since then Carlos has not only been getting his strength and fitness back but also his independence and mental health, by... regularly using one of our handcycles. These handcycles are not funded by the NDIS and Carlos’ family is not in a position to purchase one as they are nearly $8,000. Today is your last chance this financial year, to help Carlos, and others like him, get back on the bike, by donating to https://royal-rehab.giveeasy.org/eofy2021fb #Carlos #hope #rehabilitation #brain

05.01.2022 Since 2015, the The White Knight Foundation has donated close to half a million AUD for home renovations, rehabilitation equipment, counseling, mentoring, educating and empowering over 6,000 young Australians on how to better deal with difficult and sometimes dangerous situations. We are very pleased to announce that the WKF has merged with our Royal Rehab Foundation. This will allow WKF donor dollars to continue being spent on rehabilitation but with a more immediate and far...-reaching outcome. Co-Founder Liam Knight believes this is a great outcome as it will allow donor money to have a faster and more direct impact on those in need. I have seen first-hand the support and care shown by Royal Rehab to their patients and their expertise with neurological conditions like brain injuries, many as a result of violence, it makes sense to merge with Royal Rehab to support more of those in need. You are still able to donate to the WKF with all funds raised going directly to patients and programs who have been affected by random acts of violence. If you would like to donate please visit: https://royal-rehab.giveeasy.org/wkf. See more
