25.01.2022 http:// SKINNY PRACTISE \\ Not that this little dude is gonna be my number 1 pick when eventing starts back But it is a FANTASTIC exercise for any horse to sharpen their knees and body, move off your legs and stay balanced. Being a showjumper he will need to be quick off the mark around corners and be able to shorten and lengthen his stride when I ask, this practise is perfect. You can add ground poles for even more accuracy to help younger horses and greener riders and use ...v poles on the jump too Remember to never be afraid to try something new For all my GIPPSLAND clients and potentially new, please get in contact as we are taking bookings for local rides. If you need a horse to be worked while youre busy, need assistance with a younger horse or spooky horses please GET IN TOUCH

25.01.2022 Carlo Bugatti This little dudes first time working with upright barrels. Such a honest horse, so brave but not too bold where he unseats you. Gonna make such a ripper cross country ride! Can you tell I was super excited? Love thoroughbreds for their versatility so much @rv_offthetrack

24.01.2022 If you are insecure, guess what? The rest of the world is too. Do not overestimate the competition and underestimate yourself. You are better than you think ... The key thing when working with horses is to have faith in the process. Have faith that you surround yourself with those who make you feel fabulous and confident. Take small steps, don’t overface yourself and remember to always finish a ride with a smile Some small key things to help focus on when jumping next time for those who need little reminders here and there: keep your chin up, this will pull your shoulders up naturally and allow your ups to not slide back. In doing so you will be stable and have the ability to bring your horse up through their shoulders too especially on landing. don’t fold too early, let the horse jump up to you rather than you bending down to it look at the fence on approach but two strides out pinpoint an area and KEEP YOUR EYES UP. if you’re looking at the ground that’s where you’re gonna end up if the horse refuses or gives you a wacky jump, EYES UP

24.01.2022 Note to self : You can’t control how other people receive your energy. Anything you do or say gets filtered through the lens of whatever personal things that they are going through at that moment. Which is not about you. Just keep doing your thing with as much integrity and love as possible. ... You do you See more

24.01.2022 \\ Cartia // Gorgeous little standardbred mare in for some education under saddle and on the ground. We don’t take breeds for granted, what one may find ‘trash’ another will find treasure. We want to find that treasure. No matter how testing or hard we work we won’t give up. For those mere moments of gold amongst the clatter of silver coins.

23.01.2022 Magic is real. Feeling absolutely and entirely smitten is real. Feeling like everything just fits and is on the right path is real. Don’t take for granted those moments of pure joy. Don’t expect anything less than feeling absolutely over joyed. If what you do makes you smile ear to ear, then do it more, do it often and do it because you can. Feel the magic, feel the joy and enjoy every ride. ... @moosestarphotography

22.01.2022 HOT TIP MONDAY Little things that I do to help my day go more smooth and effective. One thing I hate is doing and undoing reins onto different bits working at a show stables I learnt this super trick and I havnt gone a day without it! obviously not legal for competitions and such but for at home sessions its my favourite have a super week everyone and safe riding

22.01.2022 Excited smart horse exercise alert I mean technically we may not have the fanciest setup of jumps or anything however we can get things done and thats all that matters! Ted was super active and excited today so I decided it would be good to see how well he was listening to me even if he was super excited, with canter poles and V setups, changing of reins and potentially jumping an old fence it was a super way to ask a lot with very minimal equipment! Use what you have and always make things interesting!

20.01.2022 Teddy working amazing today in the sun Loving this gorgeous weather! Helping push the fluffy winter hair out of the boys too! Who else is loving it!

20.01.2022 It is with heavy heart we announce the closure of working client horses during the stage 4 lockdown of Metro Melbourne. Through every situation a business faces things they never have before, unfortunately this is a closure we have made ourselves to help save lives of millions. Please stop travelling to clients because you are driven by money, please stop endangering lives of many because you hate sitting at home doing nothing. Please follow the rules so this can be over q...uicker, so we can do what we love sooner and so we can surround ourselves with our loved ones earlier. To all my beautiful clients, I will see you soon. I will be uploading helpful training tips and tricks through the weeks to assist in everyday horsemanship challenges and things to help further you and your horses futures. Stay safe, much love Tara x

20.01.2022 Ted Bear having his first jump back with us, what an amazing feeling it was indeed! He is getting stronger by the day

20.01.2022 Teddy loves cuddles on cold winter days who else loves to hug their ponies on any day

20.01.2022 welcome to wonderland Enjoy the sun, enjoy the cool breeze, enjoy the smell of fire wood burning and enjoy your horses. They are beautiful animals, they are smart and they know when you need a helping hand to feel better. ... I hope everyone is staying safe and having successful rides

20.01.2022 Teddy flying over our butterfly oxer Such a great exercise for horses that rush, need to work on shortening their stride and being quick on their feet. I make it a little shorter than a stretched out 1 stride, starting with poles then bringing the oxer up and the outside vertices up one at a time. You can make this exercise as big as you like however keep in mind it is quick physically and mentally hard so never over do it or push your horse too much! Teddy has never liked oxers however felt super brave through this line which was fantastic! @honeymeadowequinepoles with our lovely wings and poles

20.01.2022 Newest arrival in to be sold Sparky is a gorgeous looking and fluent moving TB that is here to be sold on to a home more suitable. If you scroll back through my Facebook he was in work with us previously to be brought into work, which he was faultless in. Full ad to come.

19.01.2022 Happiness can be found in even the darkest of times. But only to those who remember to turn the light on. Enjoy every moment of happiness you ever feel, embrace it and remember you can do this

19.01.2022 Make your life a masterpiece; imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do. Carlo had his first school over an oxer today thanks to the help of our amazing wings and poles by Honey Meadow Equine Poles Though he didnt give me that jump I always wanted, a nice big scopey knees high and not wanting to touch the wood, he gave me a quiet, positive and brave jump everytime. When he hit a long spot he trusted the process and knew to not panic, when he got in deep he ...knew not to over compensate. A smart horse with the correct tools under his belt Training a horse of any caliber should always be positive, if you have a horse refusing then take it back, the horse isnt ready to jump. If you have a horse that raced to the fence and away, do exercises such as trot poles before and after fences. Never take a horses attitude for granted See more

19.01.2022 Never give up on a horse Far to many horses I work with are deemed unrideable and yet in very few sessions the horse is proving to be a beautiful and capable mount. When searching for someone to work with your horses always choose those who are passionate Here’s to the underdog horses who teach us the value of never giving up

18.01.2022 Before things went a bit haywire- still proud of how honest he is over fences just think he might have a curse at Tooradin Just kept telling myself it’s the journey we are on that’ll make him an all round better horse and brave mount for the future! We were so close to the end of the course too anyways, onwards and upwards! Capture Dat Photography

17.01.2022 If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results. Super thrilled with how Carlo Bugatti and his second schooling over oxers. I watched the clips from last time and said to myself what I wanted to change and what I wanted to see next time i put him over fences. And the results show, he gave me the jump I wanted and felt amazing. You don’t need to ride a horse a million times over a fence before they give you a glimpse of a bett...er form, you need to be smart, give them exercises on the flat that will assist in the jump. Honey Meadow Equine Poles sporting our gorgeous wings and poles

17.01.2022 ‘The extraordinary things about working with horses is that you never stop learning. You never stop learning that the inside rein can do so much or so little. You never stop learning that a trot can sometimes really be that big. You never stop learning that people will support you regardless of the outcome. In such an isolating sport of you and your horse, you need to be considerate, you need to be understanding. People often laugh when we say ‘oh she was just in a marey mood’ but those who have been there know exactly what that means, opinions are thrown at you by a 500kg animal who would like to know why you’re asking for that trot to be ‘1%’ better. We need to understand horses in order to be able to listen to them and those that are really special, know how to whisper’ Reynolds Performance Horses

16.01.2022 Carlo Bugatti Having a jump in the sun today A main thing working with a green horse over fences is to give, don’t hold back when they want to stretch out! Another is setting them up for failure, as much as I love working horses through difficult exercises - I also want them to succeed and feel brave with their tasks! ... Even though this boy is so genuine to a fence I still never ask too much of him, if he does a task correct them I don’t push him. If you look closely we are also jumping over our gorgeous new dazzle board, wings and jump poles by the incredible @honeymeadowequinepoles

16.01.2022 the boys reckon they deserved to have a snooze when they saw me coming out with the halter Who else thinks their ponies look so cute with their little legs tucked under!

15.01.2022 Don’t repeat the same mistake and expect a new result. Inlove with the photos from today with the incredible @moosestarphotography. Can always guarantee I’ll love every single photo and the style is just stunning So proud of my little Nacho man working incredible again today! Going to make a super horse I reckon Wearing the gorgeous @qjridingwear breeches in my @kask_equestrian

15.01.2022 New Jump Feels Very fortunate to receive some new jumps today for the team from the incredible company Honey Meadow Equine Poles Not only are they fantastic for communication but their products are fantastic and look gorgeous. Super excited to have a jump with the boys soon If anyone is looking for AFFORDABLE & QUALITY poles and wings go to Honey Meadow Equine Poles

14.01.2022 Life of Pi Took Pi out to Lang Lang agi for the day, much to my own struggle of having to braid and make him somewhat cleaned I reckon he looked pretty good! Went well in the OTTB classes and open hack. Just a bit of a tune up before his first horse trials at the end of the month! Big Thankyou and well done to Lachie for presenting him beautifully in the led classes, you guys looked very handsome!

14.01.2022 sand dancing with Tiny in the midst of a rain downpour such a good dude coming back into work fantastic

14.01.2022 Be your own champion. In a time where you cant compete to be physically named champion, mentally work hard enough to feel like one. You dont need a ribbon or trophy to show you the milestones youve reached, you need your heart and soul to feel it. So be proud of yourself for your accomplishments, spread positivity throughout your inner self and your loved ones. Smile and love what you do, be brave and never give up on your dreams. Spread positivity, share this around to remind every rider that youll always have my support and comfort in tough times. Stay strong equestrians

13.01.2022 The Bugatti cruising through the water good luck to everyone competing this weekend or if you’re having a quiet one remember that the more hard work you put in, the bigger the reward

13.01.2022 Spend a little more time trying to make something of yourself and a little less time trying to impress people Carlo Bugatti working in the sunshine today

12.01.2022 Carlo says smile everyone its a new week stay safe everyone and keep pushing!

12.01.2022 Dont be afraid to start over. Its a chance to build something better this time. Use this time to do different things, to build stronger connections with your horses and stay positive

12.01.2022 Day in the life // Short edition Starting off with a tea and some Heartland before feeding the boys. Then going for a 8k run, up the road and back A bit of lunch, a good old vegemite sandwich ( who likes vegemite ) before getting the boys in for their workouts. Teddy had a stretch out ride then some hill work ... Pi had a little play around some poles before feeling a bit sore again on his hoof ( Thanks abscesses) and Carlo did some flatwork while it poured down Finished the day off with their night feeds and feeding the calves Happy weekend riding everyone

11.01.2022 Complete and utter happiness will never be dulled by imperfections. If you asked me what makes me totally and utterly happy, it’s this. The simplicity of being with my horse, in motion and in the moment. The sound of his hooves thundering, his nostrils flutter every breath he takes, every drop of sea water that lands on my cheeks. Never take your happiness for granted and never stop your smile from shining through.

11.01.2022 Carlo Bugatti Nothing makes me more happy than having a horse that learns how to take control when things don’t go right. He never is defeated by a task and always looks for the next challenge. A skill we aim for all horses to have. Forever listening to our horses and treating them like absolute royalty

11.01.2022 Imagine being this cute Annie last year, miss this little darling

10.01.2022 streeeeetchy trot exercises As we all know it’s vital that horses learn to stretch and relax in their gaits. Some horses take longer than others and some find it super difficult Don’t be afraid! You need to be patient like anything in the horse world! 1. Develop the forward key, a horse moving off the leg is what you want. You don’t want to be kicking every stride with zero results. 2. Teach the horse to relax with your seat and rhythm. Slowing your rising and your... breathing, same can be used to relax yourself when you’re nervous about a situation 3. Make the horse comfortable, comfort is key! Horses should naturally go down in their shoulders when going for a downward transition. So use this to your defence, slow the horse let the head and poll lower but control the shoulders and keep them elevated Happy stretchy trot Monday!

09.01.2022 Nacho man getting ready for his first comp this weekend. Treating it like a training session to ensure we have an enjoyable time Honestly am excited for how this dude will be in a few months time, has such a fantastic foundation now to just get that body working like a big ol dressage boy

09.01.2022 Horses struggle too. They struggle with learning, they struggle with patience and they struggle with how they can’t figure questions out. That’s why taking it slow, listening to your horse and never pushing them for your own benefit is essential. Remember that when you swing your leg up onto your horse or any horse for that matter you have to have trust, a secure mindset and a passion to drive you. Always talk to them and make them aware when they have done the right thin...g. And a hug never goes astray either See more

09.01.2022 Dont worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you dont even try Love these gorgeous wings and poles by Honey Meadow Equine Poles. Not only do they look incredible they are lightweight and so easy to move around

08.01.2022 It’s okay to be scared. It’s okay to be confident. It’s okay to not know what to do. Don’t ever change to conform. Don’t ever feel afraid to be different. Surround yourself with those who will be there for you. Break away from those who belittle you. ... Strive for the better and expect to learn along the way. We all make mistakes. But we all also make decisions that make life worth living. If something makes you happy, never give it up. And never refrain a smile. Reynolds Performance Horses See more

08.01.2022 Sparky has SOLD After over 100 enquired this gorgeous boy has found himself a new home. He will remain here until he can be taken to his new home but we cannot be more happy with the home he has found himself! We are very thankful for the incredible response he had from his ad and we apologise if we didn’t get around to you, this boy was snapped up very quickly! Please send us a message if you are after a certain type of mount and we will endeavour to find your next best friend.

07.01.2022 Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true . Motivation is feeling very flatlined in weather that acts daunting and cold, to find motivation to pull a horse out and take their rugs off, to take the beanie off and replace it with a helmet, its very hard to take the first step. Go for a short ride, go for a long ride. Do what you enjoy and that your horse enjoys on days where you dont want to do it at all. Thats the key, its not easy but its not impossible either

06.01.2022 Classic Another episode of GUESS THE LOCATION This is one of my favourite horse trials, always exciting fences on course, inspires me watching the higher levelled riders and horses go around! hopefully my young little dude continues going how he is

06.01.2022 You must be big enough to admit your mistakes, smart enough to learn from them and strong enough to correct them . Very fortunate for my beautiful team of horses and wishing them a happy birthday.

05.01.2022 YOUNG HORSE EXERCISE This exercise is fantastic for keeping them on their toes and keeping them sharp with transitions! Never do an exercise too many times because you dont want to overload their brains! Once you get it positively done leave it on a good note! Like us for more small area exercises to do with your team buddies!

05.01.2022 Kindness will always win. Ranger after 1 week of being with us in Fish creek has become a pal, not just a work horse or one needing to be fixed, he is a friend. He follows, he stays back when he is in my personal space, he listens to what is asked rather than assuming what to do. It’s not a miracle what has been done, it’s just foundations and accuracy. From the nervous attitude and mindset he upholds has now turned to a brain that wants to learn but awaits instructions. Good job ranger, A+ for you this week

05.01.2022 Passion- In my eyes, is something you have a unruly emotion towards. Something you cant ever really fill, because you have desire to explore it and to know it never ends. My passion powers me, it throws me in directions unimaginable. It holds me up on days when i can hardly walk and controls me when Im strong. When my foot gets in that stirrup its like nothing i can explain. My passion is horses, they are what keeps me breathing. I bid this video to reach anyone that is feeling unaccomplished, anyone that feels they cant do what they once could. Hold that passion you held when you were younger, stronger or merely braver. You can do this, just grab hold of those reins and breathe.

04.01.2022 Going through old images is making my heart feel full. Not often we get time to reflect and remember. These photos were taken on my 18th birthday. With my little dude teddy always appreciate where you come from and how hard you have worked

03.01.2022 Come for a ride with Teddy and I Whats your horses calm down word? For teddy his is good there is an instant drop back in his demeanour In my eyes its always essential to teach a horse a safe word that you can use when you need the horse to settle!

03.01.2022 When you cant control whats happening, Challenge yourself to control the way you respond to whats happening. Thats where the power is

02.01.2022 Another throwback Guess the location of this horse trials!

02.01.2022 Being helplessly empowered by passion will always outweigh acting to be something you’re not. Follow your own passion, follow your own dreams. Only you can say when you have hit your goals, only you can determine what truly makes you happy. @moosestarphotography

02.01.2022 Serenity with Pi

01.01.2022 Throwing it back summer vibes and my gorgeous old man Classic Theres always a horse that comes into your life, the one that taught you it all- this is the man himself
