23.01.2022 What can I learn during lockdown? This is a useful question to ask ourselves. The reality is that many of our freedoms have been curtailed. We can no longer go out. We can’t see friends and relatives. We can’t enjoy our usual travels and recreational activities. There’s plenty that we can’t do. It well and truly sucks! ... Once we pick ourselves up off the floor of self pity, it’s a good time to ask ourselves what can I learn? And I’m not denying that many people have gone into survival mode and can’t afford this luxury. They are focussed on keeping a roof over their heads, putting food on the table and paying for the children’s education. That said, have a think about what you can learn during this period. In Victoria we have stage 4 lockdown till mid September. Let’s try and create something good out of it. Maybe you wanted to learn a language or a musical instrument or take up painting. Perhaps it’s time to become more aware of world history. You can devote time to becoming healthy and fit. You can learn the valuable life skill of meditation. You can assess your desires and sift through the needs versus some of the unnecessary wants. You can start the healing process of damaged relationships through forgiveness. Perhaps it’s time to let go of biases and prejudices. Yes this time is difficult, but it’s also an opportunity to come out the other side as a better, more loving, more kind, more compassionate, more educated, more self aware, more resourceful individual. Take the challenge.

09.01.2022 How is everyone feeling during these Covid times? On many levels, it’s an emotional roller coaster or Coronacoaster as it’s been called. There seems to be cycles of emotions. Despair, anger, fear, acceptance and one can cycle through these on daily, weekly and monthly timeframes. ... The entire loss of control means that the only way forward whilst retaining sanity is with acceptance. Not superficial acceptance, but with deep acceptance. And we need to keep practicing this deep acceptance again and again during the day. Couple it with breathing and affirmations. Breathing in I accept the moment, breathing out all is well. You can make up your own. Every single one of us are being forced to stop, reflect, and reset our lives. We have to be sensitive, sensible, humble, practical, courageous and true. It’s a time to reflect on what really matters in life. Acceptance, letting go, and faith will be helpful companions during this challenging time. Stay well
