25.01.2022 A huge heart-felt thanks South West Community Foundations Koroit and District Sub-Fund for supporting us to purchase a RSL Active branded 6mx3m marquee and some banners. Having these will really help us standout when holding or attending events. This will go a long way to help veterans and their families from all over the south west region to find us on the spot and to engage with the community in a professional way. 20.01.2022 Adam Kents service to the community has been recognised by the Rotary Club of Warrnambool East Inc. members with the presentation of an internationally recognised award, a Paul Harris Fellow. This award is given by local Rotary Clubs to Rotarians, and sometimes members of the public, which they feel uphold the highest values of service above self for others. Adam was presented his award at the clubs zoom changeover meeting and later his medal in person by Rotarian Tim McL...eod (RC Warrnambool Easts Rotary Foundation Director). Adam can be very proud of this recognition. Some notable previous receipts included U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Russian President Boris Yeltsin, U.S. astronaut James Lovell, UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar, and polio vaccine developer Jonas Salk. There are five rotary clubs in Warrnambool and Port Fairy. RSL Active Warrnambool has received funding assistance from these generous clubs on a number of occasions to run veteran health and wellbeing activities, including the 2019 Veteran Retreat and Community Picnic. Our members are grateful for their support as mentors, mates, the network they offer us, and the occasional tip in the jar from their hard-earned fundraising efforts. 01.01.2022 Huge Congratulations to Ash Dyson who completed 1246 burpees in under 2 hours to raise money and awareness around Mental Health and reducing stigmas associated through LIVIN. Ash committed to do 1 burpee for every dollar raised with a target of $500. That target was more than doubled but didn't stop Ash smashing the Burpees. To show our admiration and appreciation to all Ash does for our community,... RSL Active Warrnambool teamed with Snap Warrnambool 28 day mental health charity challenge to present Ash with a Deep Blue Bath House & Day Spa voucher.
