22.01.2022 ANZAC Day 2020 will not look like the ANZAC Day that so many of us are used to participating in. There will be a Dawn Service, wreaths will be laid, the last post will be played, a minute of silence in memory of the fallen will be observed, but the service community and the public will be asked to stay at home. This does not mean that ANZAC Day is cancelled. It just means that ANZAC Day will be different. In 2020, on April 25, while you can't go to the Shrine of Remembrance o...r a local Dawn Service, the RSL is asking that instead you #STANDTO. As the Last Post is played during the ANZAC Day Dawn Service walk outside, stand in your yard, driveway, or on your balcony and observe a minute of silence in respect of our veterans. Make sure that you snap a quick picture and share it right here on our Facebook page using the hashtag #STANDTO. Together, let's amplify our commitment to the ANZAC spirit. Lest We Forget.

21.01.2022 In 56 years of marriage, Joan has never been able to convince Mick to give the RSL a miss. Until now. The RSL will still be there when this is all over.... So will the pub. And the beach. And we want Mick, Joan, and every Victorian to be there too. Staying home saves lives.

19.01.2022 Project 2020 is on target to be completed by the end of the month! We look forward to showing all members, guests and visitors our new memorabilia and memorabilia displays, as well as the entire refurbished first floor when we are once again permitted to reopen. A reminder that the Club is still operating in a welfare capacity for any member that requires assistance.

17.01.2022 We wish to advise that we have closed until further notice. We urge all our members and guests to stay safe and we will endeavour to keep everyone updated as the situation unfolds. We will still be providing Veteran assistance throughout the closure. Please contact the Club if you require any assistance, however basic it might be.

16.01.2022 We may be unable to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II with traditional commemorations and gatherings this year. However, it's pivotal that we... still commemorate and remember this important day together as a community. RSL Victoria is proud to announce that it will be hosting Victoria's official online Victory in the Pacific Day commemoration service on Saturday, August 15, right here on the RSL Victoria Facebook page. This special online service, that commemorates the 75th anniversary of World War Two, has been funded by the Victorian Government. The online service begins at 11.20 am and will conclude by noon for all to commemorate and connect online safely from the comfort of your own home. Please make sure you tune in to mark this historic anniversary in Australian war history, as we remember all those who have served during WWII. #VPDay75 #Victoriaremembers

09.01.2022 At present, we are operating business as usual. Rest assured, heightened cleaning practices have been undertaken at the venue. First and foremost, our most important consideration is the health and well-being of our veterans, all staff and members and visitors. As an organisation that deals with many potentially at-risk individuals, there are a few simple ways that we ask everyone to ensure they are doing regularly;... Washing your hands often, with soap and water. Covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing, and not using your hands to do so Avoiding contact with sick people If you are beginning to feel unwell, we ask you immediately vacate the premises, avoid contact with others and seek medical attention. If you encounter anyone who seems ill you should encourage them to seek medical attention and avoid exposing to other people. As many of you would be aware, the situation is evolving quite rapidly, however as further information comes to light we will endeavour to keep all members updated. If any member requires assistance at this time, please do not hesitate to contact the club. For further details and updates on COVID-19 please visit: dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

08.01.2022 Whilst we wait for the venue to reopen, we will be selling poppies online. Feel free to give us a call on 9534 2348, or drop us an order at [email protected] to get yours today!

04.01.2022 The venue will be reopening on Monday 9th November at 11am. We recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment. In our new world there are a few rules we must abide by; - Face masks must be worn at all times unless seated at your table - No unnecessary movement around the venue... - Table service only - order and pay at your table - Maximum time in the venue is 2 hours We look forward to seeing everyone back at the Club and even more excited for everyone to see all the changes to the first floor! To book in, please email your booking through to [email protected] or phone on 9534 2348.

03.01.2022 Each year on the 18th of August also known as Vietnam Veterans Day, we honour and commemorate all those who served in Vietnam, including the 521 Australians who died and more than 3,000 people who were wounded, injured or became ill as a result of the conflict. Whilst we cannot host our annual commemorative event at the Sub Branch for Veterans, we urge everyone to pick up their phone and give their mates a call and let them know that you are thinking about them. Just because ...we cannot gather in person does not mean we cannot commemorate. Lest we forget. Photo courtesy of ABC
