18.01.2022 Only 3 more sleeps until our Adoption Day- Saturday 26th September. Please find the profiles of our first three beautiful animals looking for their forever homes! Animal ID: 487753 ADOPTED Breed Australian Kelpie / Staffordshire Bull Terrier... Health Check Microchip Worming Desexing Age: Unknown Sex: Male Size: Medium Type: Puppy Colour: Sable Location: Port Macquarie Shelter RON: R251000223 Little bit about Barney J.J Hello, I’m Barney. I was surrendered with my brother Baxter and our siblings to the RSPCA as our owners wanted us to find great homes. After a short time in foster care I am now ready to find my very own home. I am a very social boy who loves getting out and meeting new friends. I already have a love for the beach and exploring my surroundings. I really enjoy having the company of other dogs even if its just to snuggle up next to. I am very clever and already know how to sit. I would love if you could help further my training. I hear puppy pre-school is a great place to start, will you take me? I am currently crate trained and making great progress with my toilet training. My adoption fee is $480. I come de-sexed, micro-chipped, vet checked, vaccinated, flea and worm treated. I will be available for adoption from the RSPCA Shelter/Adoption Center on Saturday 26.9.20 for our adoption day. *Please note if you have children under 15 yrs old they must attend the meet and greet. If you have an existing dog you must bring it in on the day for introductions.

18.01.2022 Many thanks to Brian, Jeanette and Bill for participating in our cat desex program at Wauchope this morning and to Kath, Jenny, Maddie and Gill for participating at Port Macquarie this afternoon. Very good uptake at Wauchope , ( too busy for photos!) not so busy at Port ( weather horrible by early afternoon)but well worth the effort in terms of reducing unwanted litters. Maybe another day in a month or two ??

17.01.2022 To those who have contacted me re cat desex vouchers ,we hope in the near future, to hold another day when vouchers will be available for $30 for Centrelink recipients in our local PMHC area. Once a date time and venue have been arranged it will be advertised on our facebook page so keep an eye out for more information.

About Ziggy Hi my name is Ziggy!!I'm an independent single Mum. I raised my kids on the streets with the occasional kindness of strangers to assist a pretty young thing like me, but I'm a girl who knows how to get things done!I'm looking for an adult home that can appreciate a strong independent woman. I know what I want and I'm not afraid to ask for it! If you speak good cat, then it will be pretty clear for you too. I want to be an equal part of the relationship. To be heard and respected and appreciated for the Goddess I really am. Isn't that what every woman really wants??So let's be clear - I'd like to live with adults only who have had cats before and understand the intricacies of our communication. I'm intelligent and driven, so I love to learn (tricks, games, enrichment, my Doctorate in cat behaviour). I like to look good so games that keep me fit are purrrfect (swizzle chasing, feathers, hunt/catch/eat aerobics). I'm still learning about love and affection - it can be hard for someone like me to let down their guard and let you in, but I want to... if you can be patient... I am $180 plus $25 lifetime registration. My stats My health has been checked My vaccinations are up-to-date My worming is up-to-date I have been microchipped I am desexed

14.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. 102 years later we pay our respects to the men, women an...d companion animals who fought and gave their lives to allow us the freedoms we have everyday in Australia. Thousands of animals have loyally served alongside Australian troops throughout decades of global conflict. Remembrance Day is not only about who we have lost, but what we stand for. It's about honouring those who have served and continue to. To read the story of Horrie, a loyal companion during World War II click here http://rspcansw.org/2kYj71p

12.01.2022 RSPCA NSW welcomes today’s announcement of the push for tougher penalties for animal cruelty offences in New South Wales. NSW Minister for Agriculture Adam Mar...shall said he will introduce into State Parliament notice for legislation in what would be the harshest penalties for animal cruelty in Australia. The new set of measures will increase maximum financial penalties and prison time under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, as well as introduce new powers to ban an individual from ever being allowed to own, care for or breed an animal in New South Wales. RSPCA NSW welcomes these changes as first steps into the review of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and is looking forward to further developments in cruelty legislation in New South Wales. The proposed penalty increases are: For committing an act of cruelty: fine increased from $5,500 and/or 6 months’ imprisonment to $44,000 and/or 12 months’ imprisonment for individuals, and $220,000 for corporations. For committing an act of aggravated cruelty: fine increased from $22,000 to $110,000 and/or 2 years’ imprisonment for individuals, and $550,000 for corporations. For failing to provide proper and sufficient food, drink or shelter: fine increased from $5,500 to $16,500 and/or 6 months’ imprisonment for individuals, and $82,500 for corporations. 02.01.2022 Round of applause for Mumma Zura Zura was adopted from RSPCA NSW 5 years ago and was soon given the title Mumma Zura due to her work in helping to foster & ...nuture over 200 puppies ranging from pups that needed a break from the shelter due to behavioural issues, to those involved in Court Cases, abuse victims, and even one deaf pup! Because of her tireless work this gorgeous girl was recently awarded a Special Foster Carer award in the JetPets Companion Animal Rescue Awards Even with mutiple medical hardships of her own this year, Mumma Zura has been an angel, continuing to give all her foster babies the love, care and stern discipline they need to grow into well-behaved, happy and healthy dogs.

02.01.2022 Have you ever thought about becoming a foster carer? RSPCA NSW’s Foster Care program provides temporary homes to animals who need a helping hand. This might be because these animals are too small or young to be adopted, recovering from illness or surgery, are undergoing rehabilitation or even just finding the shelter environment too stressful. Our foster care program also supports animals in regional locations that do not have RSPCA NSW facilities. By placing animals into fos...ter homes, it provides them with the care and support they need until they are ready to be adopted into loving forever homes. Becoming an RSPCA NSW foster carer is an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of some of the state’s most vulnerable animals. You can find out more information about foster care here: https://www.rspcansw.org.au//RSPCA-NSW-Foster-Care-FAQ-24- You can apply to be a foster carer here: https://www.rspcansw.org.au/how-you-can-help/foster-care/
