19.01.2022 Hi everyone, I just simply need to share this post with everyone. Just a quick story first. I had a gentleman ring me up on Friday At 1pm. He was desperate to find someone to apply a white wash to his new home floor. He previously had a floorsander come in and sand and then bleached the Cypress pine floorboards. He said he was moving in the furniture on Sunday and had to have it all done by then. He was desperate, I told him with as much gentle advise as possible that it w...ould be virtually impossible to find some one at this late time, and if he did they would need to start that afternoon. So in a burst of brain storming, I told him that with the Rubio precolor Nordic White and then a coat of MC2+ Super white, he could do it himself and achieve near professional results. And that I will coach him over the phone. He agreed. I raced over to his place, dropped of the oils and precolor, gave him about 25 mins of a pep encouragement talk and a couple of hints and tips, and gave him the next step. He only had himself and his wife to do all of this with their 2 year old son looking on. So now he goes and gets other stuf he needs, Bunnings, brushes, tins, trays , rags. The owners were also aware of that when they decided to give a new life to an old woodwork bench. Renovating is always a slow and delicate process. There is no simple guide to follow, each project is unique with each time a custom treatment. The owner chose to carefully disassemble the table, to sand it entirely, put it back together and subsequently oil it with Rubio Monocoat. The oil did exactly what it promised: it protects the wood and gives it a new warm character. Thanks to this renovation the workbench can serve as a functional showpiece again for years to come.
