02.01.2022 Ladylike Theatre Collective is the creative partnership between two friends and collaborators, actor and maker Annabel Matheson and actor and playwright Eliza Oliver. With a raft of our talented and creative friends who help us, we create work that asks questions, challenging our audiences while still providing a safe environment in which they can delve into storytelling without feeling inhibited by judgement. All our work is created through an intersectional feminist lens, w...ith a focus on the representation of women and queer people on stage. About the Ladylike process in 3 words: Silly Camp Brainy Favourite thing about each other: Eliza about Annabel: Annabel is great with details and terrible with the big picture. Annabel about Eliza: Eliza is great with the Big picture and terrible with details. Up next for Ladylike: We're creating a show called Hang in There Baby with Elena Carapetis, Phil Kavanagh and Lachy Barnett. It's big and fun and pretty gay. Opening tonight . . . . 01.01.2022 We asked Olivia, our fabulous designer, a few questions ahead of opening night! What's your favourite design element of this show and why? I’m always very concept driven so to be honest my favourite part is reflecting the reality of living with a bunch of different people. You end up with this hodge podge of items that aesthetically shouldn’t really go together. There are always too many pillows and too many throws and there are always things left behind from an activity tha...t you were not privy too. There have been some really nice costume moments, I won’t spoil them but it’s very satisfying when a character becomes a person. Do you have a dog? Tell us about it. I have a Spoodle named Lou. She’s almost 10 years old now, and currently does a lot of sleeping even though she was the most loving terror for the first 8 years of her life. If I can settle into middle age the same way she did, I will be very satisfied. What are you doing when you're not working? Puzzles (I acquired 6 or so during iso and my collection is growing, I can’t stop), and cooking long meals. Cooking is my safe space. How To Kill Your Hamster opens tonight! . . . . [id: Olivia sits on a light blue couch. She is wearing a green jumper and blue jeans holding a necklace.]
