19.01.2022 So it seems that Google Maps has decided to get creative with the directions to our farm...Here's your best and easiest directions for getting to us this Saturday. If you can get to Rathdowney it's a short drive from there. From Beaudesert Via Rathdowney to Running Creek Beef: Head down the Mount Lindsey Hway (also called National Route 13) towards the NSW border (basically South). Just follow it until you reach the township of Rathdowney approx 27mins. ... As you enter the town you come to the Rathdowney Hotel on your right, the petrol station on your left and the immediate left turn is Running Creek Rd. Turn left into it and then travel 5 mins approx 3km's till the one odd little intersection where you'll keep right (but basically follow the road) for approx 14 km's (don't turn-off regardless what the maps say). Just prior to our farm you'll enter a short free-roaming cattle section of road. Signs reflect this plus you'll drive over a cattle grid. This is approx 1km. As you come up to the 2nd grid have your right indicator on and then turn right into our property just past the grid. We have signs on our front fence and a banner with a big picture of a piece of steak. If you get stuck give us a call 0448844455.

18.01.2022 A spectacular day for Day 2 of our home deliveries. 13.01.2022 Well this is what we did look like last week but now with 100mm in the gauge and the rain forecast of up to 150mm the greening has commenced. Running Creek has dramatically risen and still rising. MC Nabs bridge on our southern boundary is completely over and the bridges leading to the property are at risk of being cut off too. When it rains, it pours as they say. We’re looking forward to sharing some stunning photos of our green farm with you all real soon. #runningcreekbeef #destinationscenicrim #raingloriousrain

13.01.2022 A brand new exciting 4Real Milk product just launched. Can’t wait to try this and hopefully offer it with our deliveries. Well Done 4Real Milk https://4realdragonmilk.com.au/

12.01.2022 Have you ordered the grape juice or Verjuice we were selling this year? Well Bunjurgen Estate Vineyard is the producer. Owner David McMaugh offers complimentary wine tastings under the trees overlooking the spectacular mountains. A wonderful road trip and not far from there is Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm and Scenic Rim Brewery too. Always good to call ahead and make reservations. A perfect day trip over the holidays.

12.01.2022 Delivery update: we can still take a few more orders for farm pick-up or home delivery from Sunday 13th September (pick-up) with deliveries starting from Monday 14th. EYE FILLET however is sold out. Lots of other cuts still available plus our locally produced product range too. Frankie is giving the Crows Nest Softdrinks a hoove of approval here. You may have seen the wonderful story about them last Sunday on Landline on the ABC. Murray one of the owners reached out to us an...d asked us to consider offering their softies during the COVID shutdown. Once we learnt of their family business and the fact it’s one of the few remaining regional town soft drink producers, we just had to help. Crows Nest the town has a population of only 2000 people so we figured rural helping regional was a win for all. Plus they taste dam good too. Good ole’ fashion softdrinks. To place an order for this round get in contact [email protected] or download an order form from our website. #runningcreekbeef #scenicrimeatlocalweek #homedelivery #farmgatepickup

12.01.2022 Thanks Destination Scenic Rim for the story on us and our farm. by Carin Garland shows a little look into a muster where we bring the cows down from our mountains. A wonderful team helps to do this: Pat on his Palomino Max, Ben on Nosey his thoroughbred, Emma on her Palomino Winston, Corey aka The Drover on Frankie, Rod on his motorbike and myself in our trusty Ford Ranger (here if you need me, but not a lot of help until we get into the yards). Thankfully there’s really good grass coverage on our mountains so the cattle love living there.

12.01.2022 Is there any other better sound ? A real good soaker. Going straight in too, no run-off to be worried about. Beautiful rain. #makingaworldofdifference #everythingisbetterwithrain #takethatdrought

12.01.2022 Busy weekend coming up. Find us with our market stall including our beef, local Scenic Rim products, taste testings and our pies both Hot and Frozen at the Beaudesert Night Market from 4pm on Friday the 13th in the Mitre 10 car park and then on Sunday we’re at the Summerland Camel Christmas Markets from 8:30am.

11.01.2022 The Wooly Cup... they’re off and racing. And the winner is... Hercules. #melbournecup #thewoolycup2020

10.01.2022 Rathdowney Country Markets today till 12noon. Come on down. We’ve also had our first Bathurst question correctly answered!

09.01.2022 12 mm’s today of rain. Not as much as many but there’s a almost magical quality of rain vs irrigating or watering. Plus when you add the dense cloud cover we experienced on the top quarter of our property and the thorough wetting this causes, we will start to see the greening within 48hrs. Hopefully more to come in the next few days . #prayingforrain #farmingintheclouds #runningcreekbeef #eatlocalscenicrim #thefarmatrunningcreek

09.01.2022 Let Chef Daniel Groneberg delight you with his low and oh so slow-cooked Running Creek Beef Brisket. Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm is open Wednesday to Sunday’s for lunch and wine tastings. Make sure you book as they are very popular. Thank you Chef Daniel for your continued support of our beef https://www.instagram.com/p/CGvxTITgL3A/

09.01.2022 Surrounded by inspiring women in the Scenic Rim so much so we could have filled the hay bales. Being rural, regionally based means there’s more reasons not to build a business but that’s where the encouragement and example of those around you propels you forward. As we celebrate International Rural Women’s Day today remember Women and Girl’s that your wins, losses and resilience to try again will be inspiring someone else whether you realise it or not. to the wonderful ladies including my mum who encourage me and to my husband who is always there eager to have a go alongside of me. #internationalruralwomensday #womenofthescenicrim #couriermail @nigel_hallett_pics @kathrose

08.01.2022 The perfect day for chopping wood. Thanks to Steve our neighbour the dead tree in the front yard has come down and between Steve and Emma we’ve got a fantastic wood pile growing. Plenty of wood for Running Creek Cottage and our home fire. Maybe even a bonfire when the wind eventually dies down too.

08.01.2022 Good News! We’ve just been given the word from the paddock that the rain is all gone and our farmgate opening tomorrow is going to be bright and sunny. Jump in your car with your @emptyesky and join in the food trail fun. We’ll have the gates open and ready for you from 9am. Please remember COVID-19 regulations apply on the farm which means social distancing and registering your details upon entry. We’re 30 mins from Beaudesert and if you need directions best to head to Rathdowney and turn into Running Creek Rd off Mt Lindsey Hiway and then just go straight (with a slight veer to the right). We’re about 14.5kms along on the right. See you tomorrow and happy trails. #destinationscenicrim #runningcreekbeef

07.01.2022 It’s time to place your order for next week’s delivery. Download the order form from our website and email it to [email protected] Place your order by Thursday to avoid missing out. https://runningcreekbeef.com.au

06.01.2022 A huge thank you to our customers whom have purchased Bunjurgen Estate Vineyard Grape Juice and Verjuice through out the year. Stocks at the cellar door are now sold out and we have the last carton of each in existence so get in contact if you’d like to stock up. In the meantime now that Bunjurgen Estate and David are back with their vineyard tastings (those pictures ) and have their COVID Safe plan in place , we highly recommend you make way out and sample the wines and ports. Give David a call and tell him your a Running Creek Beef customer and he’ll role out the red carpet.

05.01.2022 We had this exact conversation with a local farmer at the markets today and now here I sit, outside looking skyward as the dark clouds form wishing it to rain but not really believing it ‘until we see it’. Once again it’s incredibly dry, beautiful but so dry. I really hope our skepticism is unnecessary. The big question... do I water the vege garden?

05.01.2022 Loaded up and ready for a big day of home deliveries but first a breakfast stop VK Everydays , all takeaway of course. We’re delivering all over the Gold Coast, up to Springwood, over to Victoria Point, then across to Eight Miles Plains and all suburbs in between. on the road again

05.01.2022 122 mm locally is working its magic. The creek is up hugely due to Springbrook’s 450 mm+ but will lower and clear over the next few days. Will be interesting to see how our crossings fair as the flow is mighty powerful. Hop over to our IG page to see the videos and here the rushing water. The great news is that the herd and especially the steers will have lots of grass to graze. A big Christmas feast for them of the best kind.

04.01.2022 We've got lots of variety to offer including our beef at tomorrow's Rathdowney Country Markets plus Jasmin Urban Farm will be there too. Rachel's seedlings, and spray-free veges and fruits are full of flavour and all natural.See you at the Rathdowney Country Markets (Sunday 19th) 8am -12:30pm.

04.01.2022 Important day on the farm 9.11.2020. With the drought persisting for 2 years now, today we mustered the bulls through the tunnel for the first time during the drought. Last year we made a decision not to put the bulls in as the mum’s had their calves to raise already in drastic drought conditions, worse than this time last year . Therefore this year we’ve missed seeing those big eared, gorgeous calves and will potentially have to buy stock to ensure our beef supply in 2022 .... As our number 1 focus always is to look after our herd and ensure the longevity of the Sahiwal we’ve been very comfortable with our decision. The girls have had a good break, feed coverage is good around the mountains and so they’re shiny coated, fat and healthy. Now it’s time for the Bulls to take action. Texas 1 & 2, MM Harper & Tom, Lil Wil and 1630 went quietly with the help of Pat and Boss-Girl. Her first muster too. She did amazingly. Now the Bulls will roam the mountains for 3 months and return decidedly thinner after ‘working’ and from August we should see our adorable Sahiwal calves again. A good day that has us breathing easy that this year despite the drought the bulls are in. #runningcreekbeef #sahiwalbulls #bullsin2020 See more
