22.01.2022 Dear families, As you may be aware, the QLD Premier has announced a temporary lockdown for people living in Greater Brisbane and Townsville. The 3-day lockdown will commence 6pm Tuesday 29 June and will continue until at least 6pm Friday 2 July. As an essential service, our centre will remain open as normal with COVIDSafe measures in place in line with the current government restrictions. Our staff have been social distancing where possible and wearing masks along with hand... washing and sanitising. The centre has also had a big wipe over to ensure we are following our COVID policy and COVIDSafe measures. We are all encouraging the children to keep safe by extra hand washing also. Please ensure you wear a mask when entering our centre. We appreciate your support and patience during this time as we work to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff, families and your children. Please refer to the up-to-date advice from the QLD Government here: https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/ We will keep in touch via StoryPark and email as the situation evolves. We want to remind our community that we are here to support you during this time.

13.01.2022 Morning Families, This morning I carried out our monthly practise Fire Drill. This was done just after the children had gone inside from outside play. The children do an amazing job each and every month as they take hold of their rope and walk towards the evacuation site with their Educators. I love to talk to the children once they have gathered to hear their responses as to what they heard and why they are here. There was also mention of the real fires that we are all aware... of are in the community by the children. Once again a wonderful job by all, regards Helen x

11.01.2022 This morning our 3-5yr olds had their yoga session Today’s session was all about being confident in our own voice and being loud and proud The children used their beautiful loud voices to play the games and were all so confident after a few turns to go up to each other to pass the balls on to the next child... The session ended with some relaxing stretches to wind everyone back down before the session wrapped up... The children all had an amazing time and we all can’t wait until we have our next yoga session...

11.01.2022 RKW today said a BIG THANKYOU to the men and women of the RFS and emergency crews, both on the ground and in the air, who have been braving these crazy fires to help save our community. You guys are absolutely amazing! Miss Wendy asked the children and Educators to put together a thankyou page which they created by doing paintings, drawings & children’s thoughts on what they have been seeing and hearing since the weekend. We also received some humbling messages from our fami...lies, so we send a big thankyou to them. Miss Wendy then put all the pages together and along with myself we went to the RKW RFS station to present this to a local member. They were so chuffed at what the children had done for them and asked us to say a BIG THANKYOU to them all and to let them know that the fire is being taken care of. We all think they are HEROES, Helen See more

09.01.2022 Morning Families, This morning, I carried out our last Lockdown Drill for 2020. Once I raised the alarm, the few children that were already at the centre moved promptly & quickly to their designated area in the Nursery as a whole group along with their Educators.... I praised them for being so quiet as there were no sounds to be heard when I entered the area, they were quick to tell me "you couldn't hear us Miss Helen" and I certainly did not. We hope you all enjoy your Wednesday and hearing the sound of the rain, it certainly has helped green up the centre. Regards Helen x

06.01.2022 Morning Families, This morning I carried out our practise Lockdown drill for the month of September. The children and educators were all playing outside when I raised the alarm, once the children and educators heard this they all reacted quickly and moved into their room kitchens, taking their attendance rolls with them, turning off all lights and locking the doors. As we carry these drills out each and every month the children are familiar with this procedure and it's not an... unpleasant time for them. They like to hear me say that they were soooo quiet that I didn't even know where they were :) They were all like little ants running and I was so proud of them all for their quick actions.
