21.01.2022 This week Podiatry student Sarah from Charles Sturt University joins us for placement. With shortages of Allied Health Professionals in many regional and rural areas throughout Australia we are proud to welcome Sarah to Tumut and hopefully encourage regional employment on completion of studies. Student Profile: ... Sarah Smith Hometown: Albury Stage of studies: 3rd year, 1 more to go. What lead you to pursue a carer in Podiatry? I was interested in a career in health so applied for Podiatry and ended up really liking it after first year. What do you like about Podiatry? The variety, getting to see a number of different things such as wound care, diabetes, biomechanics, surgeries and general treatments. What are you eager to learn while at Rural Health? I haven't experienced rural private practice, I'm eager to see the difference in patient demographic and health status between previous metropolitan placements.

Could dry needling help you? To find out more follow the link https://rhpl.com.au/blog/what-is-dry-needling

11.01.2022 We are excited to debut our Youth Athlete Development Group in Term 3 under the supervision of Accredited Exercise Physiologist Brodie Palmer. The demands of competition on young athletes are increasing each year. It is common to hear of a 12-year-old playing multiple sports, training every day and competing on Saturdays and Sundays, all year round. While it is great to see our youth so physically active, this high level of involvement can come with consequences if they’re no...t exposed to the necessary guidance in their athletic development. Our Youth Athletic Development Program has been designed to provide a platform for young athletes to reach their full potential. It is not just about setting them on a path to become great athletes in the future, but more so about teaching them to develop the skills and attributes required to prevent injuries, stay in sport for a long time and grow into well rounded athletes.
