20.03.2022 Great article about Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Council’s Wattle Seed project.

16.03.2022 Spent today travelling down 150km of unsealed road in the Bulloo Shire in far south western Queensland. The road stretches from Noccundra down to the #WarriGate on the NSW border. This trip took almost 4 hours one way. Just over the border the NSW government has spent over $195 million sealing the Silver City Highway and the contrast is huge.... The Bulloo Shire Council completed a study with CSIRO which showed a huge economic boost (2100% increase in agricultural traffic alone) after sealing the Warri Gate Road (extending the Silver City Hwy). The report showed an average saving of $5.60/km/trip for a b-double and even more for triple road trains. This road will provide vital market access for QLD businesses into NSW and SA. The Bulloo Shire Council is seeking State and Federal Government support to seal the road at a cost of $7million per year for 10 years. Please share and show your support for sealing more outback roads. #infrastructure #government #tourism #outback #bullooshire #qldvsnsw

24.01.2022 Can you spot him? These are photos of the Penguin Observation Centre in Burnie, Tasmania. This Centre and board walk were built with the assistance of volunteers, council and the State Government to keep people on one side and the penguins on the other. It has been hugely successful and now volunteer tours run nightly with a major deep water port operating nearby. A very interesting case study of development, tourism and nature all operating in such close proximity, and to all appearances successfully, due to the proactive and persistent engagement on behalf of the penguin colony.
