24.01.2022 Early Years Music School began in May 2014 and is a small and passionate school where music and connection are at its heart. Ruth is a trained Music specialist and Early Childhood teacher, with a quirky personality, providing joyous music making. She caters to children as young as 6 weeks and their Mums, Grandparents or carers. This is Ruths reality right now. - Music is known to have loads of developmental benefits, but the best benefit of all I see is that the combinatio...n of music, movement and laughter, which we do a lot of, enhances everyones well being and provides a valuable sense of belonging. - I knew continuing with our physically close and close knit group would pose a health risk to not only ourselves but the broader communities we represent. So on Tuesday morning I made the call to close indefinitely. We are also physically close during a 45 min. class and its impossible to distance a one year old! Initially I was hoping the five-week window this provided between now and Term 2 would be enough, but the writing is on the wall that we may well be out of business for longer. - EYMS is my primary source of income with term fees paid in advance I need to budget carefully. So with no fees to be collected in the near future, I am facing any Government support I can get. I am very reluctant to dip into my Super fund at this stage. - I am staying connected to the EYMS community, which continues to grow on FB every day, via daily music videos. These include songs, rhymes, moving, puppets, instruments, building on repertoire we already know and engaging with children directly through social media. I make a point of singing childrens names and speaking or singing directly to my young audience like I would in the classroom. These videos are contributing enormously to my own wellbeing throughout this unchartered territory too... These classes are available to everyone. - In the future, I will look into a way to add a subscription type service if Covid-19 eats into Term 2 income stream. We are all suffering. I want to continue to bring joy and happiness into the homes and families who have supported me for so long. - Lets show Ruth our @ruralrevene love @ Orange, New South Wales See more

23.01.2022 I wanted to introduce you to Kirsten Cunningham. My inspiration for establishing @ruralrevenue. She is an incredible local wedding photographer here in Orange and her business is @kirstencunninghamphotography. She bravely communicated to a bunch of mums in the Central West Mums Facebook page this week, how Covid-19 has impacted her business. To hear how she is now projected to loose 30-40% of her annual revenue (as March and April are often her busy months) - is heartbreaking..., but sadly the reality for so many wedding vendors across Australia right now. Kirsten articulated how she was feeling and how she understood she needed to reinvent herself in light of the evolving landscape. Talking to her today she doesnt want to be the latest sob story, but instead the motivation for others to share their experience. Ill be profiling her business in more detail soon and what her next steps are. In the meantime please check out her amazing photography at @kirstencunninhgamphotography, where she has supported so many local wedding venues who are also feeling the impact such as @borrdell_vineyard, @heiferstationwines, @philipshawwines, @nashdalelanewines, @racinelacolline and @rowleewines and vendors like @bespokecountryweddings, @midcovintage, @thewhiteplace_events, @haleyjeanmakeupartist, @illumemakepandbeautybar, @thestudiodoorcreative. And myself @shillobrations. I guarantee it will bring a smile to your face in this period of uncertainty and to focus on lifes precious moments worth capturing. #ruralrevenue

21.01.2022 Specialist music teachers are doing it tough right now, just like Ruth at Early Years Music School Here in Orange. She supports many age groups from "as young as 6 weeks to over 80s. We are also physically close during a 45 minute class and impossible to distance one years old!!!!" - I've been so impressed with her resilience and how she has quickly adapted in this changing landscape, to showcase her Early Childhood expertise via Facebook everyday through her daily music vid...eos. - "These include songs, rhymes, moving, puppets, instruments building on repertoire we already know and engaging with children directly through social media. I make a point of singing childrens names and speaking or singing directly to my young audience like I would in the classroom... - This new mode of operation has really humbled me as so many parents and strangers, as far away as USA and Canada, have sent encouraging messages. These videos are contributing enormously to my own wellbeing throughout this unchartered territory too..." - Lets show Ruth and Early Years Music School our @ruralrevenue love and support and please start following Early Years Music School on Facebook to benefit from these wonderful videos. #ruralrevenue See more

20.01.2022 As youve seen for some small businesses wedding season might be abruptly over in light of Covid-19, but it doesnt mean their income should be. The examples across industries continue and so do the bills. Ive been thinking how can I help? Ive established a Instagram and Facebook page called Rural revenue and if the demand warrants it I can create a website and directory etc. The intention is to showcase our rural resilience and our local businesses. I want to do everythin...g I can to keep your / partners business dreams and revenue alive. This is open to all rural businesses from photography to plumbing, piano lessons to PR. Floristry to food etc. I want to learn about you, promote your services / business, your specials and how you are reinventing yourself so we can tell others. It will all be housed in a one stop shop. When youve received goods or a service etc. please tag Rural revenue and the business to spread the love, advocacy and awareness. In the interim please consider giving a small business a five star rating on google that youve received goods or services from or a business youve partnered with recently to lift their spirits and their search ranking. 13.01.2022 @CourtneyWalker_Photography is a local photographer based in Orange NSW. She shoots everything from newborns, maternity, weddings to families. This is her reality right now - I started my business In December 2018, around about a month before I was due with my first child. I always had a huge interest in photography and thought it was a great time to start this journey with my new little one. This allowed me to be a stay at home Mum and also do something I had a deep passi...on for. - Since Covid-19, Ive had cancelations and bookings are non-existent at the moment, as people are just scared. The financial impact is a massive one as if no one is booking or even buying gift vouchers, I dont make anything, which impacts my family Im feeling really stressed. - I want people to know that they can still obtain photos during this time and that they shouldnt be scared to. - The best way to support me right now is to buy vouchers. I have Mothers Day gift voucher specials going at the moment. $100 Unlimited Edited images via online gallery for a 30 minute session. $80 for 25 edited images via online gallery for a 30 minute session. - Lets show Courtney Walker Photography some @ruralrevenue love and encouragement. Dont forget to take up her great Mothers Day offers available right now. As you will be assisting a local business, provide her with some @ruralrevenue to enable her to continue to her passion and support her family all whilst obtaining some wonderful photos. #ruralrevenue #stayathome https://www.facebook.com/courtneywalkerphotography1/ https://www.courtneywalkerphotography.net @ Orange, New South Wales

10.01.2022 @bnb_made_easy professionally manages properties in our region as short-term rentals, on all the major platforms including their own BookOrange.com.au . Ive been in operation for almost 2 years, but this is my first year out alone. Like many business in Orange, we have experienced a severe number of cancellations and loss in bookings for the months of March and April, May... continued. . Due to the travel restrictions, we dont have many bookings moving forward. Many of ou...r staff that rely on homes to clean, are out of work. Were plugging away but its not great. . I am feeling a little anxious, but optimistic that things may change and people will soon be able to start travelling and be itching to get out of Sydney. . As a result of this crisis we have worked very hard to recently launch our own booking platform BookOrange.com.au. In 2019 Airbnb received $1.6million in the form of service fees from bookings made in Orange, which makes me feel ill. Book Orange doesnt send service fees overseas and supports the community by directing our guests to local businesses. . Book Orange will always be cheaper than any other platform. Call us directly so we can find you the most suitable option. . Soon our guests will be able to book add on services directly through Book Orange such as babysitters, wine tours and grazing platters upon arrival. . Please encourage your friends and family to book through Book Orange for their next visit. If anyone is looking at short term Property management, please contact us for a free property appraisal. The numbers were making for our homeowners might shock you. . In the interim please do check out BookOrange.com.au. Utilise this website to book accommodation in our colour city, support this fabulous community focussed Orange business whilst driving @ruralrevenue and keep it local. #ruralrevenue #bnbmadeeasy @ Orange, New South Wales See more

10.01.2022 @Haleyjeanmakeupartist is a mobile makeup artist and hair stylist operating all over the Central West NSW. She specialises in weddings, special occasions and films. Haley also offers beauty services such as spray tanning, waxing and tinting, manicures and pedicures with gel polish via her home studio in Orange NSW. This is her reality right now I started my business back in May of 2015, I was a young 18 year old that had a huge passion for makeup and business. Sadly I have ...lost my main source of income. I usually have weddings every week and unfortunately all my couples have had to postpone their wedding dates. My heart aches for them! I was almost booked out for 2020 so now trying to find available dates for all couples is really difficult. Its so upsetting when I cant fit them in and be a part of their special day. Right now I am getting there day by day :) I really miss working with my beautiful clients and wedding vendor mates! My makeup workshops have been extremely popular over the years so I thought taking them online would be a great idea. Im now offering online makeup workshops over video chat in the comfort of your own home. This is the perfect time to learn something new. Imagine how good your makeup will look at your first event after isolation! These personal makeup lessons go for 1.5hrs and usually cost AUD$70, but if you book your workshop before 30th April its only AUD$55! Theyre for all ages and skill levels. The lesson will be personalised to your lifestyle and what you would like to learn. I will be teaching how to use the products in your makeup bag and recommending products if you need to add them to your routine. I have seen over the years that many people have makeup that they dont know how to use, so I want you to get your moneys worth and show you the correct way to apply it! The best way to support my business at the moment would be to purchase an online makeup workshop or to buy a gift voucher to use when Im back up and running. You can get in contact with me via Facebook and Instagram @haleyjeanmakeup Lets show @Haleyjeanmakeup some @ruralrevenue love and support and purchasing a workshop or voucher! @ Orange, New South Wales

08.01.2022 Thank you to our farmers, local producers and suppliers. Without your support so many of our local cafes and restaurants would not have been able to diversify their business to home delivery, takeaway or online without you. 07.01.2022 @ellamoore_salon is Boutique Beauty Salon offering Lashes, Nails, Waxing and much more in Orange, NSW. Emilys dream was to open a salon. She celebrated this milestone recently, to then be confronted with the reality of her salon closure due to Covid-19 regulations. This her reality right now - We are a team made up of two, trying our absolute best to make people feel beautiful inside and out. I have been in the Beauty industry for nine + years, but a Salon Owner for five w...eeks as I had just opened my own Salon in the Orange Arcade. However we were forced to close our doors and completely re-model and operate like we have never operated before. - Unfortunately we have taken a massive financial impact due to no longer having a steady and consistent monthly stream of money coming into the business. - I have created a website from watching countless YouTube videos as we didnt have any stream of income to pay for it. I have brainstormed different ways to be able to still receive a service you would in the salon at home with DIY Brow Kits & Face Masks. - On a positive note we were pushed to get our skincare brand that we have been eager to get on our shelves since January and not being able to with the business of opening the shop. We are also working on the remodel of the salon and taking the steps we wanted to take. This will enable us to be even more prepared with new treatments and procedures when we are allowed to open again. - The best way to help us would be to buy something from our website - even if it was one thing for your brother, sister, mum, dad. All our skincare is suitable for teenagers from 12 up to 99 years and for both men and women. We are offering free delivery around Orange and we will constantly have discounts happening on our website. - Lets show @ellamoore_salon some @ruralrevenue love and support by purchasing something from their website and then visiting the @ellamoore_salon when they reopen. #ruralrevenue @ Orange, New South Wales See more

04.01.2022 @farmtofloral is a wedding and event florist servicing regional NSW. What is inspiring is how Catherine is utilising this time to be creative and find enjoyment in her floral artistry in her down time. Her arrangements are beautiful and distinctive, with the emphasis being on locally grown foliage and flowers. - Whilst I love the whole process of planning florals for a wedding or event, installations really make my heart sing. My business has gradually evolved after a month ...in London studying floristry, a little over 3 years ago. - I have been quite fortunate in that Covid-19 has resulted in postponements, not cancellations, of the Autumn weddings that I had booked in. However, this has resulted in very itchy secateurs fingers, so I have been taking the opportunity to trial new ideas - which hopefully will benefit my Spring brides! - The flowers featured in the first two photos of this branch installation were repurposed from a postponed wedding. They were originally intended for the bridal party flowers, but ended up on this branch on a tree beside our little creek. - For the following install I was inspired by the beautiful autumn foliage about at the moment, as well as the dahlias from my garden that went nuts after we had some beautiful rain, and very welcome cooler weather. - The third photo holds a special place in my heart, as it was the first wedding I did post London, and it was for the wedding of our eldest son. - I'm very lucky to live on a working sheep station, so financially I'm ok, just restless creatively. - Check out Catherines stunning florals at @farmtofloral where she showcases her passion for all things floral. #ruralrevenue #farmtofloral @ Orange, New South Wales See more

01.01.2022 Café Connect is a social enterprise cafe which assists people with disabilities to achieve hospitality skills required to gain employment within the community. Headed by chef Jamie Stewart, Café Connect has been driving better social outcomes for many of Oranges disadvantaged since 2016. We employ two of our clients with a disability within the café, Izzy our barista and Jade our kitchen all-rounder on a permanent basis. We run a cooking for one program assisting the elderl...y. As a Chef I take great pride in implementing this program as it has been met with great support both within LiveBetter and the wider community. This program has enabled elderly residents of Orange to socialise and make new friends through common interests. What a devastating impact Covid-19 has had on the hospitality industry. For us at Café Connect this has meant that all the staff and over 100 clients that are usually at the complex no longer come; most of them would get coffee, cakes and lunch from us. Clients would see us daily and we had special café visit days which are sadly no longer held. Many social groups such as mothers groups, yoga classes and exercise groups have been cancelled and our indoor play area closed. We relied a lot on these gatherings that came to Café Connect. Sadly I've had to reduce the hours of staff because of lack of trade, and cut the café hours accordingly. Financially we have lost about 70% in our takings which has been a massive hit and made a substantial difference to how we currently operate. We have started to offer delivery at no extra cost or minimal charge. We are also focusing internally to deliver our service to our housing clients in Orange and to our amazing front line staff. We now offer Wednesday dinners in family size portions and individual serves. Daily deals are featured on our FaceBook page: LiveBetter Cafe Connect and Connection Hub. The hardest thing I have found is getting the word out to the wider community we are here and that our cafe is for everyone not JUST LiveBetter staff and clients! Lets show Jamie some @ruralrevenue love and support by ordering from Café Connect and letting people know they are still trading. @ Orange, New South Wales

01.01.2022 Kirsten is a professional full-time photographer, who specialises in weddings and 90% her work is photographing weddings in Orange, NSW. Her business partner @pennymayphotography also operate @confetti_cartel - a premium photo booth hire company based in Orange and Confetti Kids, where they photograph daycare centres and preschools. Sadly this is her reality right now... Ive been impacted by Covid-19 horribly. In March and April I earn about 30-40% of my annual income. I ph...otograph on weekends in March and April and then the editing and admin flows into June normally. This carries me through winter where weddings are minimal and photography work has been scarce in the past. Autumn is also peak time for @confetti_cartel and Confetti Kids. Ironically these businesses were established to diversify our business models and be more resilient with our business. @confetti_cartel and Confetti Kids are totally shut down for now. We will never risk anyone's health for the sake of making money. And my wedding photography business is down to about 30% operation for this time of year - but that is changing every day - meaning decreasing every day. Diversification and being proactive is so important right now! It's amazing to see how many local restaurants and cafes are offering online ordering, pickup, etc. I need to work out how to translate that into my business. Family portraits is an obvious example where I can photograph a family and still maintain strict social isolation protocol. I've launched a second website with prints and commercial photography information too - https://www.kirstcunningham.com/ and I'll set-up my family photography information asap through my wedding site https://www.kirstencunningham.com/ and my print store. I have a bunch of ideas that I need to work on and get up and running quickly. I'm trying to look at the positives too and Im really looking forward to getting out into the bush with my family and trying to remember all the names of plants and birds my mum taught me. Might have to make a few up through because I don't remember listening that well." Lets show @kirstencunninghamphotography some love and encouragement x @ Orange, New South Wales
