19.01.2022 Dear Kindergarten 2021 parents, Due to COVID-19 restrictions all orientations and transition programs have been placed on hold. As soon as we know any more information we will let everyone know. If physical sessions are unable to take place please do not worry, we will continue with our Storytime online version, online parent information sessions as well as online transition videos. We are also hoping to plan a few zoom sessions with our current and hopefully new Kindy teachers! We are currently still confirming a Kindergarten 2021 start date also and you will be informed of this ASAP. Mrs Adams

14.01.2022 Thank you, our overdue book total is decreasing every day. However, we still have 127 books to go! So in order to complete the annual stocktake process, we ask that all library books please be returned to school immediately.

13.01.2022 Over the weekend we worked on the retaining walls around the netball and basketball court. A massive thank you to Neil Singh (from Singh's Earthworks) and Scott Anderson (Mrs Brentnall's husband) for their awesomeness and helping out with the walls. There is still some work to be done, but it's looking great. We are lucky to have such a great community.

13.01.2022 Great news that we have gone from 307 to now 95 books overdue. Thank you to everyone who has organised for their child to return their library books or has paid for missing books. We are still aiming to reach zero overdue books by the end of the year, so please continue to have your child return their books.

12.01.2022 Unfortunately one of our families lost their home in a house fire last weekend. All of their belongings have been destroyed. Keira is in Yr 1 and has a 3 year old brother. If you are able to donate any clothes, toys or shoes, it would be greatly appreciated. The Ruse school community always supports it's members when they are in need and this is what makes our community so great. The family needs clothing and pyjamas in girls size 6-7 and boys size 3-4. Keira's shoe size is 1 and her little brother Brodie wears a 10.5 Thank you in advance.

08.01.2022 Just a reminder for Kindergarten 2021. At the moment all transition to school programs have been put on hold. In order to help prepare your little one for school, we offer a weekly Preschool Story time program that is run by Mrs Adams and is viewable online via Youtube. You can access the past two terms weekly programs via our Home Learning website. As we head into Term 4, Mrs Adams will be joined by current and future Kindergarten teachers in order for new students to become familiar with as many faces of Ruse as possible. We will also be sharing different places around the school during these videos in Term 4. We look forward to getting to know everyone and hope you enjoy learning about Ruse and participating in our school readiness online program. https://sites.google.com//h/mrs-adams-preschool-storytime

06.01.2022 We have had another successful day of book returns, but there are still over 100 books overdue to the library. Our stocktake of the Junior Fiction and Fiction sections has been processed and we are now looking for books still out on loan from these collections. Next week we will begin our Nonfiction, Quarto Fiction, Graphic Novels and Aboriginal Resources stocktake. White and blue overdue notes were sent home with most classes today, so we ask that you please have your child return their books tomorrow.

03.01.2022 Calling all Grandparents!! Snuggle up in an armchair, get comfy with your favourite book and tell the students of Ruse Public School a story or a tale. As part of Book Week and Grandparents Day celebrations in Week 2 (19-25 Oct) next term, we would love to have you come into our school...only virtually this time!! Please send us a video of yourself telling a story, telling a tale or reading a picture book. We would love to share these videos with all our students.
