25.01.2022 This is how large our orchids grow when potted into larger pots. At this size, they are too large to transport.

24.01.2022 Return to Alice. 1 spike still developing and growing. She will be a great Christmas present and should be fully open by Christmas.

23.01.2022 "McDonald Springs". Stunning orchid Currently with three spikes, which is still growing. No flowers are open yet, but I have previously shown that McDonald Springs looks like.

21.01.2022 Hi. We have had a few messages about "Jessica" and the variations in colour. All the "Jessica"'s came from the same seed pod (therefore the same parents). But some are light in colour and some are darker. This is what makes your Orchid so unique. They are all individual in colour and looks. ... The easiest way to explain it is ....... Think of your own family. You may have the same parents as your brothers and sisters, but you all look a little different - that is what makes you who you are. Orchids can be the same. This is what is so fascinating with what you buy. They are individual and no-one will have one exactly like yours.

18.01.2022 Russell is in the main street of Hahndorf today, just by the Post Office. Come down and see him and his orchids.

16.01.2022 B Berg. With 3 long spikes and multiple flowers on each spike. There is a 4th spike that got "squished " while developing. (Not sure of the technical word, but it was tightly bunched amongst other orchids.)

16.01.2022 Did you ever wonder what an Orchid seed pod look like?. It looks like this. It takes between 9 to 12 months to mature. A pod many contain between 1,500 to 10,000 seeds. This is a Jessica seed pod that was self pollinated.... It will need to be sent to a specialised laboratory for harvesting the pod and growing seedlings in a sterile environment and then put into flasks with culture to allow them to grow without bacteria. It will take about a year before it leaves the lab, and will have 50 to 70 seedlings in each flask. They will be potted in a large supported planter until they are strong enough to support themselves. They will be potted up into larger pots another 2 to 3 times. Then when they are 4 to 5 years old (from the flask) they will flower.

11.01.2022 Another "Tara's Gate". 1 spike still developing the flowers. It was also from the division done in Feb 2020

09.01.2022 Australian Orchids naturally grown in forks of trees.
