20.01.2022 What do you really know about Feng Shui? There are many misconceptions and non-truths out there. Most of what you have been told is likely incorrect. I tell all of my clients that it isn’t about spending money on things statues, good luck charms, red ribbons and so on and that it is not an instant fix or magic solution to everything.... It is actually about it the flow and direction of energy in your home or office. It is about minimising negative energy and increasing or activating positive energy to maximise opportunity. You can’t solve everything at once so it works best when you have a particular intention for example study, health, relationships, career and so on but you can conduct a general balancing of your home. People have Feng Shui energy as well as our homes so to really maximise opportunity we can look at both. Based on Chinese Metaphysics Feng Shui can help you harness the right energy to support your desires. The energy is there so why not have it work for you whether you believe it or not. Questions? 19.01.2022 Why is it so important to declutter? As complex beings we nest, surround ourselves with things that we believe give us worth and we hold onto stuff because we think material objects make us feel secure. The reality is that they are cluttering our lives both physically and emotionally. We tend to find it much easier to acquire possessions than we do getting rid of them. Just as we hold onto emotional baggage that is difficult to let go of our lives can be filled with materia...l objects that we feel compelled to hold onto. Most of us are not even conscious of how much we own and how many of our possessions are not adding value to our lives and we believe material objects make us feel secure and comfortable. The more we acquire the more we feel we have achieved and the more successful we are in life. The more successful we become the more we tell ourselves we need more things. Sure, stuff can make you feel good for a while, but it rarely satisfies the deep inner need that nearly every one of us has for personal fulfillment and satisfaction. After a while we just want the next thing and the next, adding to our clutter. It is only when we are ready to let go of our baggage and be vulnerable that it becomes possible to recognise the emotional hold that our possessions can have on us. Its not uncommon to hold onto material objects because we are attached to them or fear the empty spaces that will remain if we let them go. Giving away the souvenirs from a beloved holiday may feel like we are erasing the memory of that time in our life. We may also worry that our loved ones will feel hurt if we don’t keep the gifts, they’ve given us. Its easy to convince ourselves that unused possessions might come in handy one day or that parting with them will cause you emotional pain. However, when your personal space is filled with objects there is no room for anything new to enter or stay in your life. Your collection of belongings may subconsciously shield you from the world and the uncertainties of an unknown future, but they are keeping you stuck in the past. Holding onto unnecessary possessions often goes hand in hand with holding onto pain, anger and resentment and letting go of your material possessions may help you release emotional baggage. When you make a conscious decision to fill your personal space with only the objects you need or that bring you joy your energy level will soar. Clearing your personal space can lead to mental clarity and an improved memory. As you learn to have a more practical and temporary relationship to objects positive changes will happen and you’ll have space to create the life that you desire.
