24.01.2022 Michelle and Dad are being sew silly... they have been sewing "fun face masks" while looking after me. let me know if you'd like to order some!

24.01.2022 He was the strongest & bravest person that I’m ever going to have the honour & privilege of knowing.

19.01.2022 Ryan communicates differently to most of us, he is classed as ‘NON-verbal’ but has found ways to get his point across- watch his facial expressions & body language as I ask him questions, turn the volume up & you can hear him say Hair after I ask him a second time if it’s his hair that’s annoying him (his soft voice is an airy throaty tone & whisper) he can say quite a few words but as you can see it takes a lot of effort, muscle coordination and oxygen to say each word so ...he only speaks when he really needs help or has something important to say. He can also swear like a trooper when he’s in a mood We can’t stop looking forward to and imagining how much he will have to say when he finally gets his Eyegaze communication device next year. This device will allow Ryan to form sentences on a tablet using his eyes, then the device will give him a voice and repeat his words and sentences for him, hopefully this will also be beneficial in helping him alert us to pain and discomfort so we can act faster with treatments in the future giving him an all round better quality of life. 12.01.2022 Cute little Sidney is trying his hardest to get Uncle Ryan to play and chat and showing off his new walking skills too but Uncle Ryan is not the mood coz he wanted to stay in bed all day today

12.01.2022 Happy Halloween! Ryan is Ready for trick or treaters, only a few decorations but we’ve left all the real cobwebs up for that added extra Ryan’s hoping to see the kids dressed up in their costumes through the window Covid safety first (of course) the lollies are individually wrapped and taped to the railing of the wheelchair ramp, so no one has to knock or scoop out of a communal bowl, hand sanitizer available too and a signage reminder to social distance please.

10.01.2022 Ryan and his nephew Sam

07.01.2022 That beautiful smile, Ryan aged 3.

02.01.2022 Today marks One month without you & we miss you every minute of the day. This week was hard as we watched all your equipment being picked up, the hole in our hearts got bigger each time a space was cleared or trip hazard was removed one by one. Dad cried, I was wandering in silent shock, the dog ran around sniffing all the empty spaces and your siblings stressed about keeping Dad and myself calm. It was like watching your lungs leave the house (oxygen cylinders and condens...er removed) and about 60 meters of tubing, your stomach when the feeding supplies and pump came down from the IV pole, your heart now the oxymeter sits quietly switched off. Your only means of moving taken down and removed (ceiling hoist and shower commode) and lastly your bed that you spent over 12 years in. It feels too real and we miss you so much. We are hanging in there trying to learn what our new roles in life are now and promise we won’t fall into a heap. I hope you’re running around, yelling loudly and swearing proudly up there, free of all your burdens in life. I miss being your Smother little man See more

01.01.2022 Ouchy, I have a couple of pressure sores forming on my face and hand because my fist keeps hitting me in the face during seizures and gets stuck under my face when I sleep caused by severe muscle contractions. Dad & Michelle said I can’t lay on my side today but I can’t breathe properly on my back. It’s a hard day today and I feel yuck
