25.01.2022 Busy day yesterday photographing several karate masters and recording an online seminar. I photographed Mitsutada Iha ( 7th dan Ryukyu Kobudo Ryu Kon Kai) again...st a black background for the Karate Masters Portrait Project and then as we were at James Pankiewicz's Asato Dojo, we could stroll across the road to the stone gate of Sgen-ji ()that was a Buddhist temple and royal mausoleum during the Ryukyu Kingdom. 25.01.2022 Happy to announce my Kobushin dojo re-open. Starting Ryukonkai Ryukyu kobudo classes from Tuesday 17th March 7:00pm-8:00pm and every Tuesday thereafter until I ...can find another hall to do Thursday night classes as well. Ryukonkai Ryukyu kobudo is a well known traditional Okinawa style of kobudo (weapon) training which the Honbu is in Urama-Shi, Okinawa founded by Grandmaster Kotaro Iha. Kobudo training is good for training hand-eye co-ordination, reflexes, self discipline and fitness. If you know anyone that might be interested in training in traditional Okinawa kobudo please get them to contact us or come down to the dojo on training nights! See more

19.01.2022 https://karate-event.jp/en/ Okinawa Karate International Seminar January 21-26, 2020 in the birthplace of karate, Okinawa As part of the international seminar, ...Kobudo Hanshi 10th dan Iha Kotaro sensei (80) will give two 2 hours seminars on January 25th. Having learned karate from masters Chibana Choshin and Higa Yuchoku, Iha sensei started Bo cudgel under Tamai Jushin sensei in 1961. He then learned kobudo from Izumi Kantoku, Ishikawa Hoei and other prominent masters. In 1973, he established his dojo in Uruma City and his organization Ryukyu Kobudo Ryukonkai in 1981. Together with his son Mitsutada sensei, he teaches in Okinawa and overseas where the Ryukonkai has branches in various countries. Do not miss this seminar which technic traces back to Soeishi Bojutsu and Chinen Sanras Yamanni Bojutsu. See more

It was a great training session! We were looking at the next one to be on the October 31st which is Halloween. So our options are we have a Halloween keiko or do it the following week.
