25.01.2022 Brilliant to watch! Includes new W40 SAMA record by Jenni Cotter, Vicky Caputo, Steph Noon and Karen Long. Filmed by Keith Kaisler

25.01.2022 SA Masters Athletics competition has been cancelled until further notice to comply with the new Emergency Management Directions by the SA Government, which came into effect from midnight Wednesday 19 November. These directions require people to stay at home at all times, except in very limited circumstances. This is intended to provide a short-term ‘circuit breaker’ for the current COVID outbreak in South Australia, with the goal of preventing the virus from spiralling out of control and avoiding the need for long-term lockdowns as seen elsewhere. You can find the latest COVID-19 Emergency Management Directions by visiting www.sa.gov.au/covid-19. We shall provide further advice as soon as it is known when SAMA competition is allowed to recommence. See also http://www.samastersathletics.org.au/program1.htm

23.01.2022 This evening we said Happy Birthday to Minnie Robertson. 102 years old!

22.01.2022 These seven athletes achieved 9 new records last night (there might be others that I don’t know about). There would have been a 10th record but unfortunately George can’t claim a walk record when Gill is the only judge. Probably the most watched event was the 400m where Karen Long again ran under one minute but didn’t quite make her current record of 58.93. And well done to all of us for taking part!

19.01.2022 Looking forward to tonight's program. And the breeze!

18.01.2022 3km runners and walkers this evening. Thank you to Patricia Laird for these pics. (Update on new records tomorrow)

18.01.2022 An update from the Nation's Capital and the Canberra 2021 Local Organising Committee of the Masters Athletics National Track and Field Champs: "We are closely watching the current COVID travel restrictions and border closures with great concern. We have delayed opening registrations and have an emergency meeting of the LOC scheduled for Monday 4 January watch this space."

18.01.2022 On Sunday nine throwers gathered on a beautiful sunny morning to take part in the SAMA Throws Pentathlon Championships. We thank George White for organising the entries and processing results on the spot, so that he could inform everyone about the points tally after each round. The competition was particularly keen in the men’s M65 group. Thanks also to our photographer for the day, Howard Avery. Well done to Matt Lovell (M55) and Heidi Taylor (W60) who bettered the State Records for the overall event (with 2542 pts and 3179 pts respectively). Full results are available at https://www.samastersathletics.org.au//2021-Throws-Pentath
