This clip was made by Video Savvi for the Glam Adelaide Foundation SA4SA Bushfire Appeal Gala Dinner. FEATURED LIVE AUCTION ITEM: 1"Waiting for the rain" "Waiting for the rain" won the 2019 Ilford Trophy for the highest scoring print at the Australian Professional Photography Awards. It has also been selected to represent Team Australia at the 2020 World Photographic Cup in Rome in March. ... Mandarine is a Melbourne based photographer who has over 40 national and international awards for her conceptual pieces. She has exhibited and has collectors worldwide. It is an artwork created upon reflection of my travels to Kangaroo Island in early 2019, and in response to it’s parched and thirsty landscape. My imagery is rich in allegory and symbolism. In this surreal piece, I wanted to explore drought and a changing environment, with the difficulties presented to humanity during increasingly adverse climatic conditions, and the seemingly insurmountable obstacles faced to have quality of life. We are on nature's clock, and so must ‘wait for the rain' to survive. It references the tenacity and camaraderie of the people working together to overcome the challenges faced in making their world liveable- the strength of the human spirit.
