23.01.2022 Pick the Station: the first for the new year, and this shed can be found next to a well known Machinery Dealer. This brigade amalgamated with a nearby brigade in 1990, then moved into a new shed nearby. Picture taken recently.

23.01.2022 With the changes occurring withing the Emergency Services Sector, this post is a combination of "Pick the Station' for the newer members, and 'Remember When' for the older ones. It was home for the CFS from 1978 to Jan 2000 until the move into the City, and will be opposite the new location of the Emergency Services Centre on Richmond Road. Picture taken earlier this year. Any comments or memories of this building are appreciated.

17.01.2022 We love hearing about good news stories about old CFS / EFS appliances - this is one from the Booleroo CFS. We have some information we have about this appliance - it is an Austin - built in 1956. It was built up by Booleroo EFS, and commenced service with the brigade in 1960, before going to Smoky Bay CFS in 1978.... It carried 1400 litres of water, and was fitted with a Wisconsin AENLD 10hp motor, and Rex 10 MP pump, with an additional Villiers C45A motor/Finsbury SPJJ/H1.5 pump. If you have any information or photos of this appliance, we'd love to know (and so would Booleroo CFS!)

13.01.2022 Pick the Station: is a little closer to Adelaide, and closed in the 80s, along with many other brigades. Picture taken this week.

13.01.2022 The Promotions Unit team - Pip & Ashes - would like to wish all of our readers, supporters and contributors a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May 2021 bring good things for you, your family and your community.

12.01.2022 Old truck time!! Introducing Mt Compass 61 The information we have is that this appliance is based on a 1965 International AB120, and based at Mount Compass from 1970 until 1991.... It was built by 'K.Arthur' and had a Yamaha 7hp motor / Yamaha YP20H pump, and carried around 1360 litres of water. Given the time it was based at Mount Compass, it would have had numerous call signs over its service. If you can provide any further information about this appliance (or update what we have) please let us know. Photo from Michael Edwards Collection

11.01.2022 Remember When: This one is from 2003, and was an exercise to test the readiness of the Medical Services at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in the event of a Chemical, Biological or Radiological occurrence. Pictures taken by the CFS Promotions Unit on 26th May 2003. The gallery of this exercise is now available at https://www.fire-brigade.asn.au/gallery/pages/archive.asp and is under the 2003 heading.

10.01.2022 This weeks Pick the Station: is of a brigade who went through a couple of name changes through the ages, and amalgamated with an adjoining brigade in 1989. Picture taken this week.

05.01.2022 Meet Ashbourne 62! The information we have is that Ashbourne 62 was a a 1961 International AA120, built up by the Ashbourne EFS. It was fitted with a Briggs & Stratton 10 Hp motor / Gaam Mk100 pump.... It started its life at Ashbourne in 1969, and left in 1983. It is likely it had various other callsigns during its lifetime. If you have any further information or photos, please share them with us. Photo from the Michael Edwards Collection

04.01.2022 OK, time for a few photos of old fire trucks!! We have this little cutie is a 1960 International AA120, built by the Commonwealth Government, and used by the RAAF. It had a Villiers motor / Finsbury 1.5 pump.... The info we have was it arrived at Eden Valley in 1975, changed call sign from Eden Valley, to Eden Valley 61, then Eden Valley 32. It remained at Eden Valley until 1987. If you have any information on this appliance, please let us know! Photo from the Michael Edwards Collection **** Some additional Information - thanks Cynthia Richardson for letting us know: The brigade’s second fire appliance arrived on the 17th January 1975. This specific vehicle had been a crash tender at Woomera Air Field. When the E.F.S. acquired it, the vehicle was painted in yellow and black checks. This vehicle was one of only a few in the CFS with an electric bell. Information taken from the book This Valley Of Eden A history of Eden Valley."
