25.01.2022 So you guys cleared out half my stock in the last weeks so we thought we had better have a top up.

24.01.2022 The greatest thing I stumbled across last year for discovering really quality music that I otherwise would never have found. No its not Spotify or iTunes Radio or whatever else, There is a organisation called feedbands who seek out great unsigned artists and send you a brand new vinyl each month. Every record I have gotten from them (about 8 so far) has been really really good and 3 of them have been absolute crackers. I have put a link to them on my website here http://www....sackrecords.com/ I couldn't recomend them highly enough if you love great music and vinyl. The icing on the cake it that they give real money to real musicians so they can keep doing their thing. Unfortunately that kind of thing is few and far between these days. -Sack

06.01.2022 First lot has finally arrived. Warms my heart on a cold wet day to hold all this lovely new vinyl in my hands. Eat your heart out MP3. Will be spending the weekend building shelving I think. Maybe we should have a launch party, what do you think?

04.01.2022 Dear Lovers & Friends, You may have noticed things have been a bit quiet on the Sack Music front so here we go, prepare to be updated. As I am sure you all know Sack Music wears many a hat and has been costantly evolving since its inception 3 years ago, entirely thanks to the avid and loyal support of our community and followers.... We are now officially entering Phase 2 of the local music development plan and this means a few changes and additions which will begin to be implemented over the next 6 months or so. 1. Recording We have just finished building our very own recording and mixing studio in order to help produce and facilitate some of the great local projects we are coming across. 2. Workshops & Training We are re-launching our Workshops program including: Songwriting Demo Recording Instrument Upkeep Group Lessons Musicianship Promoting your music and more 3. Record Fair This year we will hold regular local Vinyl Record Fair in collaboration with local Record hunters and collectors (see what I did there) where you can purchase and order almost any brand spankin new wax available. 4. Sack Music Gig Van You will start to see our Sack Van pop up around and about the place bursting at the seams with live performances, instruments, accessories and gear for sale. 5. Vinyl Recording While in Germany (where i am for the next week or so) I have discovered an engineer who has designed and produced a small scale Vinyl Lathe. Long complicated story short... We will be able to cut and produce short run (minimum of 1) vinyl runs for artists and get this RECORD LIVE STRAIGHT TO VINYL! How cool is that. All this new stuff however means that we will no longer have our regular retail store open. We will however still of course be hosting gigs, running open mic, taking lessons, and we will still order and deliver any gear we stocked previously. 03.01.2022 So no Open Mic Jam this Friday. :( However, we have decided to throw a Christmas party instead to mark a solid year of musical goodness. We will host this special open mic at the BCCC on Friday Dec 5th with Special Guest's doing a feature performance as well as the regular open mic affair. Keep an eye out for updates... -Sack

03.01.2022 Building an Online Store for Sack Records. Personally, when I buy a Record I don't necessarily know exactly what I want. I want to look at the pretty pictures and be inspired or be reminded about great albums I had forgotten. I struggle to do this on most online stores as the choice is overwhelming and unless i know exactly what I want before shopping, i usually end up getting nothing. ... To bridge the gap between the physical and online record shopping experience, I am designing a Browsing Based setup with Hand Picked Vinyl rather then the Search Based setup. What albums would you like to see up there?
